- Construction workers in Minneapolis are taking on developers to stop rampant wage theft. Developers use citizenship status to bully workers into staying silent. One worker says they’re owed $110K in stolen wages. The Building Dignity & Respect Program would end this abuse.

In reference to what he said in the beginning: how do these developers expect their workers to be happy if they’re not paid what they’re owed?
There are many problems. Wage theft by developers & General contractors. Most States have no more requirements to be a licensed contractor than insurance & bonding. Construction Unions fought to eliminate piece rates 120 yrs ago THERE BACK. Why is everyone forced to be a sub-contractor, no legal responsibility, unemployment, taxes, SS, etc… UNIONS
This is no different than what corporations were doing to their working personnel 100 years ago. The answer then is the answer today, unionize! Just make sure you elect honest leaders! I am the third generation of a strong union, it gave me a great life! #UnionStrong!! #UnionizeYourShop!!

Are you willing to pay union prices for goods and services? If labor cost goes up the business has to absorb it. It is passed on to the consumer. With that being said...
Consumers will be forced to choose between paying higher prices for union goods and services or buying non union at a cheaper price.
Look at Starbucks. Dunkin Donuts is ecstatic that Starbucks has closed 120 stores since realizing they are clearly losing the union war.
Now, with skyrocketing inflation... will you pay more for a union cup of coffee? Or will you be priced out of the Starbucks brand?
As unions spread ... and those businesses impacted will be forced to compete with cheaper non union stores expect to see more store closing.
It's called downsizing to profitability.

Sure it’s for farm workers here, that’s a good start, but that doesn’t help with the international labor violations which add up to much more. Big companies are ok with this sacrifice as long as they don’t have to fix the larger picture

The worst thing they’ve done is support & endorse is the “Right to Work” for less laws from State to State. Only purpose is to break Unions and pretend (lie) that they would treat there employees the same without the Union.

Sad 😢 that many of us work @ jobs that need to done & yet we aren’t paid a living wage
A real problem in the industry is when a developer is promised 100% and is paid 70%-80% for the work their team did. The person often says see me in court thanks for doing all my work. When projects are not paid for in full. This fills up the courts with nonsense unpatriotic junk. We need to change this too.

And my stepson did cement work on the Democrat building and didn't get paid . When they went to court they said it was political . It was a Democrat campaign headquarters that he did the work for
I'm not surprised! Politicians hate paying for anything and will use their power to get out of paying for anything, yet they beg us for money.
A little more information would be helpful, I'm sure they exist somewhere but I've never had trouble with democrats paying it's always been the republiklan trying to cheat me or break unions ,one of their specialties,one can't be to careful with all the professional union busters out here.

The street department put the cement order in with the street department order so when he got off work he could do the job . But Democrats got caught charging the street department for the cement . The street department fire him . But he was doing the job after he got off work he was going to put the order in for the cement himself .. what was he supposed to do with this cement when his Democrat supervisor tells him to use it so he did the job with it . Got fired from the street department for working on his own time . Lost his house because he didn't have the rent money . So he sued them . He didn't get paid by the city or the Democrats for the time he put in . So , over year later a Republican give him job to do his driveway . Then lined him up with a job with a big cement company that did jobs for the state the county and other private companies and individuals . Because the Republican did not think it was right that it happened to him . At the time it happened it ran in the papers around the citys but not on the TV media . One did mention it . One line or paragraph . The court said it was political . But he wasn't even registered to vote at the time ❗

@@teddylee1218 Sounds like work being done behind the unions back and it's a shame any democrats would condone that action that said I can tell you my experience has been just the opposite when I was young and naive one particular job i was paid very poorly and had hours stolen from me by a staunch republican meanwhile my daughter worked for a local democratic representative in our area and she was treated like gold, sorry for your rare experience but it's extremely uncommon knowing the republiklan is famous for their treating workers like $#it .
