Hi Alan my 2009 Caravan is insured at Market Value and I don’t have contents cover, van is stored and is empty. Insurance is a gamble and peace of mind is the priority. 30 yrs buying insurance and two claims, the fire was stolen from my first van and current van was broken into by snapping the lounge window in half. Both claims expertly managed by CAMC Insurance via Devitts. Thanks for airing this subject.

My caravan is 2 years old and for the time being I insure new for old using the manufacturers current price list price, but estimate awning and other equipment values.

I would insure the the caravan & contents for what you value them at & take out a new for old policy

We had to shop about for our insurance on our 2021 capiro 550 which was delivered september 2021. Our other caravan was insured with the CCC and we approached them again for the new van , they wanted just over £550 😳 for the year. So after some research and recommends , we went with caravan guard .. less than half the cost.. we will be tasking your advice of contents etc when we renew Alan.. thanks for the. info..
Why do Caravan and Motorhome insurance companies only man their offices 5 days a week and office hours and sometimes being closed for training days? I want to do my insurance on my day off from work a Saturday.
Good question 🤔 Absolutely no idea other than thinking that most are brokers so work a normal working week 🙄
Caravan and Motorhome Club! That should work for the membership, others were brokers. Don’t people buy caravans at the weekend nowadays?
Im planning to buy caravan and travel to europe, do I need insurance green card for my car and separate insurance for caravan to be road legal? I dont need extra insurance for thieft or fire, I just want to be road legal

👋 hi. I think the green card thing isn't a thing anymore. As for insurance, in the UK, it's not essential to have separate insurance for the caravan but you need to tell your car insurance that you're towing. We're definitely not experts in this field. There's some great resources on the Caravan and Motorhome club website and if you check out the UA-cam channels for Lost weekend caravan and the caravan vlogger along with Andrew Ditton, there are lots of videos but for the most up to date info, I'd suggest talking to either of the clubs or an insurance company.
