@@ArtSeallion THIS. Income is dependent on SO many factors. I have a decent sized following, but after removing my non-target demographic and going through 182K to 85K followers, I'm actually making more. It depends on so, so many factors beyond follower head count! I have SO much respect for Courtney. Super inspirational how she's grown such a fantastic brand!
hi!! I didnt say i wasn't open to it, but i had hired and assistant and had a bad experience so i've been reluctant to do it again X. there are a lot of people who want to take advantage of you, so there that side of it too X
I actually follow Color Me Courtney! I love how she makes it so effortless for us to get her look for much cheaper and how she edits her content. She truly caters to the general public without losing her sense of individuality. She deserves her success! 💕
If she makes $400k, why doesnt she hire an assistant to do some of the work for her?? That would only cost her between 50k and free up a ton of time. I think that 400k number may be a bit of an exaggeration.
It would slow her up managing tasks for someone, and honestly as an artist will probably disrupt her creation process or distract. She's handling her own just fine at 400k/year and a couple all nighters a week.
Clearly she works hard and good for her. But this video also makes me sad that the world puts so much importance on vanity and vapid jobs like this than say a scientific researcher, a lawyer, a doctor or an engineer like those are bomb as fields and pretty tough to get into and I'd love to see more content focused on shedding light on those careers and the hardwork that goes into it. None of those careers pay big bucks right away starting salaries are only like 70k sigh lol but there's certainly a gurantee that in time you will. I'm an engineer and most of my close friends are engineers or doctors and I can tell you university was no walk in the park and neither is work life but its worth it because you actually are making a difference in the world or saving lives. When my friends and I get together on Friday nights the doctors are either unable to come or always half a sleep because of the ridiculous hours they work. Again I'm not hating but these are the professions that serve as a backbone of society and perhaps I'm just biased but I think it'd be more inspirational to young people. I'm 29 so maybe I'm just too old for this channel, but this particular segment was a bit vapid for my liking.
YES!!! I'm an engineering student and couldn't agree more too! Literally making a physical difference in the world is super cool and needs to be recognized more especially in engineering other than software.
As a former engineer, I now disagree. It probably depends on industry, but I was in the auto industry and it was horrible. I felt as though all we did was make a negative impact on this world. I was also an automotive supplier and not OEM, which can be huge. But it was truly awful. Now I blog and freelance write on personal finance. I truly believe the words I put out are now helping people every day. It's much more gratifying than engineering had been for me. I may return to engineering, but at this point it's not in my plan.
Rachel Smith Sorry about your negative experience. But please don't hate Engineering based on your experience, it encompasses far too many important fields and yours and mine are merely a dot within the spectrum. The very building you live in and the streets you drive or walk on. This is all thanks to the structural and civil, storm water and power system and geo tech engineers who think ahead at least 70-100+ years with natural disasters in mind to design complex waterways, sewage systems, power systems, roads and bridges and sustainable transport systems and the maintenance contracts to ensure they're all functioning at any given time. Also not to mention the very device you blog on. And I obviously missed out like a shit tonne of other cool areas of engineering. The point is there's so many of us who make difference in people's lives every single day.
I would say the 100k followers for $100k in revenue is WAY off. It may be achievable in the lifestyle blogging format but in the makeup industry it’s so saturated most brands are not paying or paying too little for sponsored posts. I mainly account this to younger influencers undercutting themselves with payment and accepting too little for posts. If you want to see your real brand value check socialbluebook.com
I think it all depends on how good you are at marketing yourself (also agree with you about what category you're in as well), but it really depends on what brands you know personally by either attending events and networking that way or setting up meetings with PR companies when you travel. I know of creators that pitch themselves to brands and are really good at that so they get a ton of deals that way. So even though they have 40k followers they make that a year in revenue. I also know of someone who have 600k on Instagram and makes a million a year because they are always going above and beyond for brands and are in new york for meetings every other week with brands trying to sell herself. Plus her content is top notch. It all depends on how much work you put into it and a bit of luck as well but building up your connections and creating high quality content is how making 100k a year is possible with 100k followers. Defs not easy though haha
Loved watching this! Note to aspiring content creators - you don't even have to have a 100k following to make $100k.... I make multiple six figures and I only have 55k. It's all about how you VALUE your worth and that attracts abundance, ya'll!

I think having Instagram a pretty IG is cool but man has society become vain as hell since the technology boom. You don’t even need an education anymore or need to be pushing anything with substance, just have a pretty social media or be popular and you make more than people with PHD’s. Shame.
No one says this about the basketball player who makes SEVERAL MILLIONS for playing a sport. No one ever says this about the CEO who thought of snuggies. This girl worked hard to get where she's at. Social media is hard to make a living out of. I've been doing UA-cam for fun for several years and I don't even have 2000 subscribers. I know how difficult lighting, filming, editing is. They make it seem easy but I know how much goes into my small channel so I can only imagine what goes into her channel. Don't knock someone's hustle.

ksam pco Err, nope. Double negatives are awkward but your way isn’t correct either. “Couldn’t comment= could not comment” which would imply she cannot or does not want to comment. She’s trying to say she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to comment. Very different.

What an amazing video. Beautifully produced. So refreshing to see how much hard work goes on behind the scenes.

Very informative! I love their personality too.
awh thank you!!!
Very informative. While I’m not making money, blogging is really hard if you want to make a living from it. Getting people to your site and growing is probably the hardest part.
The Delaya B. Where are they? How do you get them there? The questions of life!
you'll get there one day! :) xo @colormecourtney
This one I learned a lot.
+dolsiem So glad you got something out of it!
This was awesome! I love the behind the scenes insight.
Wish I could be a blogger
+ambergastelum Of course you can! :)
Her dog is so adorable! 😭
i’d like a career similar to this
This was awesome, thanks for sharing 🍀
Hate to be that person but the title has been bugging me... it's "An Influencer" not "A Influencer"... my OCD couldn't not comment 😂
And your 'couldn't not comment' should have been a couldn't comment seeing as couldn't is an amalgamation of the words could and not, already!
ksam pco Err, nope. Double negatives are awkward but your way isn’t correct either. “Couldn’t comment= could not comment” which would imply she cannot or does not want to comment. She’s trying to say she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to comment. Very different.
@@brynasims6791 Ugh...you Americans have a different perception of grammar & language- so never mind!
@@ksam5673 wow.. no you're literally just wrong
You are the best lucie ❤️❤️❤️
Love this, I want to become a blogger and I agree with finding your market.
I used to blog, so I enjoyed this. I wish I could do it again, but I have a lot going on like being a student, applying for scholarships, UA-cam, and modeling on Instagram. Awesome video!!!

What was the app you used to edit the photos in the video?
Scout Krauss it looked like Snapseed. It’s a free app, with lots of options for editing
Scout Krauss it was Snapseed I think!
Love this! What editing app did you use to crop out and brighten?
this is so totally soulless... our society really is vapid.
Says someone with an entertainer in their icon lol
how is this soulless if she is living out her true passion and calling, she was born to be creative and unique and express herself. WTF...
Stephanie Palladino lol but jobs considered as „normal“ are full of soul ?? 🤔
Stephanie Palladino everything will
Change if we stopped fallowing these so called influncers
Stefania Tsilica - Good luck trying to get her 400k followers to stop following.
You take lovely photos, and thank you both for sharing with us! Hit the pavement and keep running if you want it that bad. Otherwise you’re wasting your own time.
does this mean lucie also makes $100k+ just from her insta? XD
Loved this video, so inspiring for someone like me who's trying to grow their following and personal brand :)
Can you please make a video on body image and eating dissorders?
Can someone please tell me the app she used to edit the photo????
