They should focus on fixing bugs and the awful memory leaks/management. Also smart layers similar Affinity Photo would be a great improvement to the workflow.
Slowly but surely, Adobe is running out of ideas on how to improve the software. So they just implement something half-baked to justify the high price of their subscription.
I don't understand why Adobe would spend the development resources to create this tool. We've had this ability for 30 years, and not limited to the adjustment layers in the tool. Luminosity masking tools are far superior to this for accuracy and flexibility. Your thoughts are spot on.
It's there like other almost useless tools. To make it look like there's something "new" in Photoshop. To make it look like the software has a "new tool". For marketing reasons not for productivity. To make the brain of less experienced users think that Photoshop has something new.
Thank you for being honest and not trying to get us to use a tool that is a Big Miss. This seems like a tool that should have been on Version 1 of Photoshop and would have been replaced with something better years ago.
Hi Jesús, I totally agree with you, in fact I've seen more videos on this tool (I also did my own) with more or less the same conclusions. As you say, it's the solution to a problem that wasn't there in the first place, and creates even more confusion in a program that is already complex enough. Hope you are doing well, take care! Un abrazo.
I totally agree with you. Instead of fixing what's broke, Adobe added an unnecessary brush. What else does Beta add that would make me wanna switch to Beta from the regular version. I'm a believer in if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Thanks for another great tip. You're the best.
Yeah I agree, it’s totally a miss. Sometimes I like to see what the adjustment does to the entire image first before inverting the mask. When I update in the future, i won’t even add that brush to my toolbox, in fact I will be hiding it because of how useless it’s going to be for me
New features are nice and all, but Adobe really needs to refine and fix their collaborative & library capabilities - both of which are severely lacking innovation, usability, and stability. I can’t help but wonder how Figma’s tech could have revolutionized Adobe apps if the acquisition had gone through.
Even after the Beta update, now with more adjustments I still don't think it makes much sense, even with, and yes this is the only advantage, the mask being automatically black, the adjustments that are applied are created by Adobe and I would say that in 99% of cases they are useless. Frankly, it's better to create an action where the applied mask is black and the values are what we want to use, whatever the adjustment. Was it a bad idea to put it in Photoshop? Well, not really, but Adobe can spend the team's resources solving other problems
You are right this is designed to smooth the introduction of what at times can be an intimidating photoshop interface. For the experienced user it may have limited value...
Nice and honest review, Jesus. Although I have Beta on my computer ready to go for any fantastic new features, I hadn't even bothered checking the adjustment brushes. You've confirmed my suspicion. I didn't see anyone else criticize this new feature so I'm glad there's somebody out there who cares enough to give their honest opinions.
They run out of ideas.

I think the adjustment brush might be able to replace dodge and burn tools
I had no idea. That's why i think you're fantastic. I've followed you since forever. 😀Beta Photoshop is working better than regular Photoshop for me.
Agree. Definitely a miss. I wouldn't use it.

When I first saw the icon for the new brush, I got excited. I really thought it was gonna be a gradient brush...
I got excited when I saw a "new brush tool". After all, the last new tool was the Remove tool. But this new brush adjustment tool is just so useless.
This is looks like a bad joke

Very very useless tool !
Perfectly agree with you! Adobe wasting developers time by this kind of programing.
See ?
AI ruins everything , after they added the generative fill , they couldn't make any other good things , disappointment
I think it seems like a miss as well. Also, I appreciate your honest review. Not everything Adobe does is automatic gold.
Great tutorial, truly appreciate
Kindly try to not use zoom-in/out animation, it's very disturbing

Hi sir, We want Color Convert RGB to CMYK without any color losing.
You're correct. A miss! Can't imagine why I would go to this.
Put the training wheels into Photoshop Elements, don’t clutter up full Photoshop.
Sir your previous haircut is better ❤ I am Pinaki from India
For me it's a faster, more comfortable and intuitive way to work…

This is a complete waste of time and energy from the Photoshop team.
What is this trash they’re trying to give us.
Exact je ne vois aucun intérêt à cet outil. Merci de nous l'avoir précisé.
Agreed Jesus. Love your training,
Completely agree, it's a more or less useless tool.
Great as usual Jesús! No me gusta tu peinado ahora😢
I don’t see any benefit in using this
I don't see the point of this new brush at all
Fixing an issue that didn't exist.
My favorite brush feature is the 'Auto' masking feature in ACR.
Thank you Jesús...
For me, it's a miss. Will not use it.
But you are genius ❤
I agree this tool is a MISS
