thestormofwar Not even the backstabbing, Hawke is like all main characters stronger then his NPC allies. I just imagine him trying to force Hawke and being put in timeout.
Keith Underwood Ohh I get it. I don't alw fight as Hawke, i tend to switch to them in combat so to me they're not Npc :) it reminds me of the classic rpg game like Diablo or fable, where Npc meant just the traders hehe
I love it how Fenris, a marked man who fears mages because they have made him suffer in the past, fears/respects Hawke much enough to not dare to turn Anders and Merrill in. The uh-uh is too hilarious. xD
Thats neither fear no respect. At best its need of a friend, at worst a need of a powerful enough figure to kill his master. You saw him - he wont confront him on his own, he gives up if you somehow decide to turn him in. Pride demon is right, he fears slavers even after killing Danarius.
When Sebastian's talking about being able to take confessions, I swear he's conveying an undertone saying that he knows Fenris was used for intimate means while in slavery, and that was Sebastian's way of saying that he had someone to talk to and it wasn't his fault without letting everyone know.
HiPeRdUdElOlZ If you mean that Isabela knew, too, yes, I think she did. But I think it was less in the 'she figured it out' way and more of a 'that's what she automatically thought' way.
I like that even though Fenris doesn’t like mages, he won’t backstab Merrill or Anders when Sebastian makes the offer of turning them into the Templars, whether it’s out of fear of making Hawke angry or not.
Sebastian seemed very kind to Fenris. It's nice to think that on some level Fenris and Sebastian respect each other. And Fenris should take Sebastian's offer. I wonder if in later games/books/comics it will show what Fenris did after Kirkwall.
I like Sebastian's character overall, but that comment about turning in the mages in Hawke's posse makes me want to punch him. Fenris, even as hard-lined against mages and badarsed he is, isn't *THAT* stupid to go against Hawke like that (possible endings aside, of couse).
HiPeRdUdElOlZ I think with Fenris it's more of a statement as to how far he's come in terms of his issues as opposed to Sebastian who...is still pretty stuck in his ways.
Sebastian: You could return to Starkhaven with me- My Hawke: NO. Sebastian: It's just a Questi- Hawke: HE'S MINE, GOD DANG IT! Fenris: I get no say, right? Hakwe: NOPE.
Yep pretty much every Mage that is inside of a circle is considered hostile to Sebastian seemingly, I'm not defending Orsino because I know about his checkered actions but yeah his little comment about how he needs to "know his place when he was speaking against Meredith says a lot, he doesn't give a crap about the Mages which is why anytime Anders questions anything in regards to the Chantry and the Mages he pretty much just covers his ears and goes lalalalala so that he doesn't have to actually hear any truth, and here with Fenris I don't know how no one else seems to but I completely noticed it and it's why I hate when he talks to him, just like most of the people of kirkwall he sees Fenris as beneath him, some little elf he can help and talk down to, a charity case really, I found it quite disgusting because he was using Fenris' shaken or lack of faith against him and trying to sugarcoat his crap with feigned kindness and probably the only reason he did reach out to him is because he knows his issues towards Mages, he's not a good person. Arrogant and horrible, it's his way or the highway, or rather his way or try and lay Siege to a City while beforehand hypocritically saying that "surely the divine wouldn't harm Innocents in kirkwall due to proximity (IE proximity to the Mages, demonstrating yet again his disdain for their very existence) He doesn't even view them as people and (hypocritical again) because the "innocents" he claims to be caring about (as in the kirkwall denizens) are definitely not going to be unaffected by starkhaven laying Siege, and that b******* about the boy after Fenris told him about Danarius is one half-assed attempt at yet again dodging or giving any proper type of answer, what was it that he said when Anders asked that question? Maybe no one "has" asked that question because everyone's afraid to question hierarchy especially the Chantry, the question about why Mages are pretty much slaves to the Templars when Andraste freed people? Giving no real reply to that and only responding by saying "nobody asks that question" and I'm sitting there like well they should. Or when he also has no intelligent reply as to why Anders can't compare himself to her when he said that she died as well for her cause, only angrily saying "how dare you compare yourself to her" which was the most hideously obvious reply I've ever heard, first time I heard it I literally rolled my eyes having already known that that garbage was going to come out of his mouth, the first time I heard his conversations with Aveline I thought she was being unnecessarily harsh towards him really, but then later on as he continued to blab I noticed that Aveline saw something well before I managed to.
Finally someone said it. The way he treats him is so damn condescending, he's just the chantry's poster boy and shows how much better he is. His "It was maker's plan all along" type of preaching is the reason I'm not religious. If the big daddy in the sky doesn't help then hat good is he? Fenris makes very valid points based on logic....but there is no logic or sense in religion, only tradition and empty hearts.
Well, I've seen a few comments about punching Sebastian's comments on turning the "mages" in, except he isn't talking about mages. He states specifically "maleficar" and, let's face it, Anders is joined with a spirit who can make him do some terrible things and Merrill is a blood mage. Sebastian is compassionate and I doubt he would betray non-maleficar apostates (just look at mage!Hawke for example, or the dialogue between him and Bethany in Legacy).
Well said. Companions or no I can understand him being wary of a blood-mage and an abomination. Doubly so for Anders. Sebastion actually does get along with Merrill just fine, and I do think that he grasps that at least Merrill was smart enough that she didn't just up and allow the demon into her head. Then there's Anders who refuses to acknowledge that Templars can be honest and fair (Thrask) and figured it would be a good idea to let a spirit into his body without knowing how it would affect either of them.
Still not a f*cking maleficar do you not understand the meaning of that word along with Sebastian? Calling someone a malificar true or not is just a convenient way to excuse locking them up in the gallows, that idea is as new as awakening. Pinning more blame on blood mages is also a convenient excuse to make more tranquils and get rid of rebel/free thinking mages, as seen in the same awakening. If blood magic didnt exist, I bet they'd instead were saying same about spirit healers and if they didnt exist, about arcane warriors and so on.
Love how Sebastian says that with Hawke standing right there. I can see Fernis backing away as he says "Take it up with Hawke", and Hawke just turns to Sebastian with a fireball in the palm of her hand. "Say what now, choir boy?" Honestly everytime Sebastian talks I feel like tossing a fireball at his face. The way he speaks to Fenris... just... GRRR!!! It's not kind at all.
I know my Hawke would certainly kick his ass for that comment, lol. But I can't help but feel Sebastian is somewhat kind to Fenris. Granted, his religious ideals are deluded (saying it's fine for a child to die for the sake of Fenris doing something about it in the future) he does seem to sympathise with him. Even offers Fenris to talk about things through confessions.
@@leftovermonday1642 He only "sympathises" because his religion tells him to, just like it tells him its fine to kill a child to prove a point. Thast why his pseudo-compassion is nothing. It tells a lot that only Fenris in this group is even remotely interested in his preaching too.
I get why people don't like Sebastian. Personally, I do, and I did always like the type of friendship he and Fenris had. Side note: am I the only one who imagines Hawke hearing about the chasity thing being lifted, marching back to Starkhaven, barging into hers and Sebastian'a room, pointing at him, and then saying: "Chasity no longer required! Clothes off now!"
I'd take Sebastian's preaching over those Jehovah's Witnesses in the real world. At least there's more to his character than just a preachy dude I mean
This is like a church brother and an atheist having an argument. Atheist gives the brother examples of why God isn't real, and the brother just tells the atheist he needs more faith.
+Sammi T Except, this atheist is a hot piece of ass that managed to make me romance nobody but him in every single playthrough of mine. Had to watch the rest on youtube.
Step1. Imagine Fenris voice. Step 2. Imagine Sebastian's accent. Step 3. Put them both together. Step 4. Enjoy the moment. Step 5. Get clean underwear.
I love all of 6 companions in the base game but watching those clips makes me glad I didn't buy this DLC. Sebastian looks like the kind of person who can't ever be something else than annoying or boring.
+Jovian999 Well he did talk about getting revenge at the beginning of the game. Then if you decide to spare Anders, he will threaten to burn Kirkwall to the ground. Other than that nope, lol.
Okay fenris can be an ass Sebastian can be annoying but honestly these two and varric and Bethany and aveline are the only ones I can really be around that don't piss me off
"Nuh uh. You want to turn them in, you work it out with Hawke." heh Love that line.
thestormofwar LOL me too. Because Fen is a forward character, he doesn't do backstabbing. That's why I love him, not just because of his cuteness
thestormofwar Not even the backstabbing, Hawke is like all main characters stronger then his NPC allies. I just imagine him trying to force Hawke and being put in timeout.
Eh? in Dragonage all the companions aren't Npc, u mean non playing character right? they are in the action. Keith Underwood
Ilkar Seregon In Dragon Age 2 all but Hawke would be NPCs, you don't really "play" as the others. You don't choose their dialouge or such.
Keith Underwood Ohh I get it. I don't alw fight as Hawke, i tend to switch to them in combat so to me they're not Npc :) it reminds me of the classic rpg game like Diablo or fable, where Npc meant just the traders hehe
Sebastian: We should turn Merrill and Anders in.
Fenris: Do you think I have a death wish? Is that what you think I have?
Sebastian's voice is strangely calming, perfect for a physiologist role.
Fenris sounds well... Smoldering, as Isabela puts it
I love it how Fenris, a marked man who fears mages because they have made him suffer in the past, fears/respects Hawke much enough to not dare to turn Anders and Merrill in. The uh-uh is too hilarious. xD
probs because he hasn't really had any close friends before and to ruin that all because of magic would probably be against his ideals :'D
he has honour! he doesn't do backstabbing
Thats neither fear no respect. At best its need of a friend, at worst a need of a powerful enough figure to kill his master. You saw him - he wont confront him on his own, he gives up if you somehow decide to turn him in. Pride demon is right, he fears slavers even after killing Danarius.
@@Fenrispro Hah, Fenris has more honour then Sebastian
@@Fenrispro Right, he'd need a whole new class for that p:

+MPHknows Yes he had compassion for him, that is what i like but unlike the other banters, i think it's too preachy to hear too often haha
well he *is* a Chantry boy
The loyalty of Fenris is Admirable
Hawke's is literally his only friend and the only force between him and Danarius, only source to end him, is his loyalty that surprising knowing that?
sebastian, the equivalent of a bible hotline crammed into one person
"Does everyone need to hear every sordid detail?"
Isabela: "I know I do."
Isabela. Pervert.

Yes, that I agree with. That comment with Sebastian turning in Hawke's mage friends was so bad.
thestormofwar Fenris wont betray them even after all he gone trough but Sebastian that probably never saw melificar before would.....................
HiPeRdUdElOlZ I think with Fenris it's more of a statement as to how far he's come in terms of his issues as opposed to Sebastian who...is still pretty stuck in his ways.
That bit about turning in the mages with Sebastian, part of me wanted to punch Sebastian. The other part wanted me to hug Fenris. Lol
Hawke is a mage in this
During that conversation about turning the mages in, I wish there was a way to punch Seb for considering mutiny. Even more so if Hawke's a mage.
Sebastian: You could return to Starkhaven with me-
My Hawke: NO.
Sebastian: It's just a Questi-
Hawke: HE'S MINE, GOD DANG IT!
Fenris: I get no say, right?

Sebastian is basically the team's psychologist. Literally.
