A dozen in every town. Or just keep one in your basement for when you need them! But seriously, Spotify and Soundcloud have more than you can listen to in 10 lifetimes.
I just visited the Moog Factory and when I was talking to the guy working in the store he said, “you’re not just playin the notes, you’re playing the timbre too.” This video really shows what that means. Very cool.
@@JayHosking Yeah I listened to it. I love this one for the simplicity of it, and how it demonstrates the beautiful tones of these things. I make a lot of heavy production music like film music and stuff so I would use these sounds as a single part of a larger orchestration. This particular vid really inspires me because it leaves space for that kind of work. :)
This is one of those videos that I keep coming back time after time. That sub 37 sound absolutely perfect here and the composition is simply beautiful and meaningful. What a wonderful piece. Thank you for this!
Time and again, I search for videos about Moogs and other synthesizers. Then I see that you made a tune with them, notice that I already watched them, find them absolutely great again and then I'm sad I can only give it a thumbs up once.
Hans Zimmer called he shall be. You are Jay Hosking and will remain my knob-twiddle hero. You create a magical experience withe every video you upload :) I will get the Noodler and the Matriarch and the BigSky and and will the still listen to your songs. Twiddle you shall. Thankful we will be!
I waited for the Subsequent 37 at least for 6 months thanks to the pandemic... Now you gave the reason to own also the Matriarch 😁... Thank you for your pedagogy you use while you performing 💎
Jay Hosking - Just WOW ! Matriarch with stereo filters and adding beautiful stereo imagery to the sound @3.23 !! They just go together like cheese and pickles & strawberries and cream. Please release a full version of some more similar jams. Thank YOU for indulging us and with you geniusism 🙂
Awesome, this is fantastic. I do some really cool things on my Matriarch ,but this was calculated. If you release a cd...I would totally buy one ...fantastic.....
our world seems to have gone to a dark place in the 2 years since this was uploaded...but then i came across this...4.33 of escapism to a better place thank you
This is beautiful! I bought a Matriarch, and it was my first Moog. I love it. You don't see many videos featuring the Matriarch so prominently, so this was extra nice to see!
Thanks Jay for this beauty of sounds... the thing that makes this piece stand out is how you perform like a violinist with those Moogs... this is an example how you have a physical relation with hardware analogue "hands-on" Synthesizers.... this experience has nothing to do with the DAW-land..... and hours in front of monitors in Nexus-Sylenth-Serum sessions...this is another story....
i have got the chills. Great stuff m8. thats some beautiful instruments. Quality of vid and sound is really good and i like the performance too, Keep em comin gj
Maybe give the Stylophone Gen X-1 a shot. It’s an analog synth for only $75 and can help dip your toes in the water. There are also plenty of tutorials and stuff but the best way is to just get your hands dirty. Also ask around and see if someone has a synth you could noodle with. I know that my church had a synth.
Thank you for explaining your thought process between the two synths. When I had the funds last year to purchase a new synth, I had a tough choice between the Matriarch and the Subsequent 37. I went with the Matriarch and am happy with it, but goshdern I still want the Subsequent 37!
Absolutely beautiful - like a wonderful painting! Thanks so much for this inspirational jam and please never stop! Love and light from Khao Lak, Thailand
First video I’ve watched all the way through for 6 years. Thanks bro for the inspiration. Was getting ready to spurt my load on a new iMac but this looks way more fun these two bad boys side by side.
I really appreciate the Process and Magic that you do with these Magic Moog Keys , also I think you are already a great composer , You have that Cinematic Magical Voice as an Artist 💯
Bro, was searching for some extra info on gear and your circuit ep took me to band camp and now here. Beer and sonic perfection. Grief and love, is just what I needed to hear.
This a nice clear and beutifull sound color painting. I love analog synths and a new moog matriarch is on my way . I can't wait... Keep on doing this stuff. It's inspirational... : )
Back in the day you had to buy a vangelis or tangerine dream album, these days you have a dozen guys doing stunning stuff like this. Long live UA-cam!
A dozen in every town. Or just keep one in your basement for when you need them! But seriously, Spotify and Soundcloud have more than you can listen to in 10 lifetimes.

Yes, I still prefer the unknown underground sound of indy youtube to spotify or whatever.
@markb9419 - if you’re still around these parts, I’d love to know others doing stuff like Jay that you enjoy.
I really appreciate those text boxes describing the process, really cool detail
This sounds like it should be in a movie soundtrack
Nice to see people actually getting shit done... Nice!
I just visited the Moog Factory and when I was talking to the guy working in the store he said, “you’re not just playin the notes, you’re playing the timbre too.”
This video really shows what that means. Very cool.
I’ve watched this video 4 times now and each time I love it more.
Awesome, and thanks. Oh, and if you haven't checked it out, I did another track with the same setup (and I think it's better!).

4 minutes and 34 seconds never felt that short. Time passed far too quickly. Those two beauties sound marvelous.
So true, the time runs and I will Hear this again and again
This is one of those videos that I keep coming back time after time.

Thank you for this!
Ambient jam with Moog Matriarch and Subsequent 37 = Welcome to Planet Synth!
This is awesome, and then some
I come back to this video every few months. Really love what you’ve done with this
5 minutes pabibipa pabibipa pabibipa pabibipapa.... and nothing else ;-)))) the best musician-composer I have ever heard ;-))))
Wow, amazing, love the melodies on the Matriarch. Ive subscribed.
Gänsehaut Mann... der Subsequent Lead ist suchterzeugend. Grossartig reduziert aber ergreifend.
Time and again, I search for videos about Moogs and other synthesizers. Then I see that you made a tune with them, notice that I already watched them, find them absolutely great again and then I'm sad I can only give it a thumbs up once.
It’s about time you just get yourself a Moog then. You deserve it! 👍
This is one of the best things I’ve ever heard. So anthemic

Yikes, mucho money on that desk top. Really fun stuff. I didn't even touch anything yet still had fun lol.
I`am flying in melancolic spaceroom ..i love it....
I have the Matriarch and the Subsequent 37. Man do they sound nice together, and it always phases me too that I get reminded how deep MOOG is man.
Is it worth owning both? I have a matriarch and I’m looking to add a subsequent 37
just closed my eyes and went on a journey through your music WOW!

This is incredible. I'm completely new to this world, I can't wait to learn more about synth.
Same here, I want to get into it so badly but have no idea where to start
