David Corenswet has always said that playing Superman is his "Absolute pie in the sky dream." I'm so happy for him, he's such a kind and sweet person in every interview I've seen of him, and it feels like I'm watching a good friend live his ultimate dream, even though I've never met him.
Shame he accepted such an awful suit.....

I am absolutely loving these onset photo of Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Rachel as Lois Lane and David as Superman. David looks magnificent as Superman and I love his smile. The onset photos of Rachel as Lois and David as Superman are incredible. I cannot wait to see their chemistry as Lois and Clark as well. It is so exciting.

I would've loved characters not being race-swapped, but as long as the film is good then I'm happy.
@@Martin_TheCollector The race swap thing for me doesn’t matter for smaller characters. I don’t like it when they do it for main characters. So in this case of DC as long as the heroes are not race swapped or someone iconic like Lois Lane…..then it’s perfectly fine. Someone like Perry White is not a big deal. And keep in mind our last Perry White was black also(Laurence Fishbourne/Man of Steel).

He looks good in the suit, just that the wrinkles is a distraction, and I've been waiting a century for another Superman movie and I want it to be as perfect as possible. If Martha explain the design as her design then that's kool....The wrinkles must go..

Totally getting those vibes from the photos I've seen so far and it's awesome.
As someone who HATES the neckpiece and hated how it looked in the original photo, I'm beyond gald that it's toned down and more of a V-shape. The costume looks great, although I do wish it was skin tight.
Think of it as the Captain America suit, which eventually became more of a uniform, and got its colours darker with time.

I’m not calling him Superman until I see his performance and the writing for the character. Putting on the costume and looking the part doesn’t make him Superman. The true successor to Christopher Reeve was Tom Welling. People need to stop skipping him and saying Corenswet is the new Reeve
The fact that Christoper Reeve appeared on Smallville speaks miles. However, it was unfortunate that Tom Welling never actually wore the suit in the finale. It's my only gripe about it.
That beng said, I do hope that we get something similar too Reeve's Superman with David Corenswet. So far, I'm really excited for the new film.

Tom Welling is still my favorite version of the character. I love what he did on that show.
At first I wasn't digging the new suit but after seeing how bright and close to Christopher Reeves bright suit and the yellow symbol on the back of the cape I'm totally on board!!!!

I prefer his neck showing more for sure....although I prefer the opened-neck design to give the actor a broader chest and shoulder look in the Superman suit. I hated Routh's suit in Returns because that tight-neck look not only made him look skinny but I kept yanking at my own collar to breathe for him. Overall, I like Corenswet suit MUCH better than the original reveal. Love the vibrant (hopeful) colors and don't mind the return of the trunks at all.......as mentioned, I do hope they do his physique justice by tightening his suit in post. Wouldn't make sense to have him bulk up only to cover up his hard work. Looking forward to this.
Damn! Rachel is a great cast for Lois Lane. Depending on how the character is written and the difference in her demeanour with Superman vs Clark Kent, she could bè a contender in best live action Lois Lane discussions.
This suit looks horrible. And talking about them fixing it in post given backlash they may. But the plum line right now is the only official image they’ve put out and we have to assume based on that they’ll wash out the colors the one thing I do like to resemble that horrible image of him sitting down. This looks bad.

In the set photo of the ship that Lois Lane and Perry White are stepping out of, I see a street sign that say Loeb...as in Commissioner Loeb! Of the Gotham City Police Department! Easter egg.
I love that he has Kirk Allen's hair style from the original serials. Such a dope nod to the OG.

Superman’s suit is horrendously awful. Mr. Terrific’s suit looks comic book accurate. I don’t get that “Iconic Superman” vibe.
I unapologetically love that Superman suit. It’s a blend of Superman’s 3 most iconic looks.
Classic, New 52, and Kingdom come. You have the colors and trunks from classic, you have the line detail and collar look from the new 52, and the Kingdom crest on the chest and the cape. I love how it’s a modern classic style while being it’s own unique thing. David also just looks so much like Superman as well. I’m still very much excited Rachel as Lois Lane also looks amazing I can feel David and Rachel’s chemistry thru these set photos.

I hope this works out. I'd love a great Superman movie. One thing that did happen to me is that I had to shake my head a moment.. i swore I saw Christopher Reeve's face for a moment, he's got the right facial features, that is for sure. I can't say I love this era and how Entertainment has constantly disappointed me since 2015 but I am willing to do research and try to keep my mind open. I wish the Henry Cavill era lasted longer, though. What i worry about is PLOT and Characterizations.
I think the trunks really don't work for this take on Superman. The trunks work best on iterations of the costume that are tighter and more form fitting. With as baggy as this suit is, they just look contrived

No. Move on from the past already. Every Superman should have his own theme, as we've seen with Hoechlin and Cavill. If you want the classic John Williams Superman theme, you can watch the 1978 Superman movie at any time.

I just have two minor but important observations:
1.- Superman smiling
2.- The chemistry from Clark and Lois, and this is just a photo.
I am sorry, but these are two thighs Snyder did not work on the chemistry between Clark and Lois. Everybody knew that Lois os the key, but they didn't know why because Snyder didn't invest time between these two characters, and that is why he failed.
Cool seeing Lois and Perry pic. I'm still not a fan of the red pants . David looks the part , and yet I see a difference of his suit compared to the pic shot of the previous one . Would have loved it that it had that Henry cavil suit feel along with the round neck top to it .
The only take away is His suit has no muscle definition.He should be ripped to shreds Like he has been the last 77yrs

As a person who's been hating all the photos so far that I been seeing I will say that these are my favorite! Lois looks great and Clark/Superman looks ok as well. I wasn't liking the other photos with his costume but this one doesn't look ''that bad''.

Baggy is on purpose so that the actor could move properly. VFX will be fixing that in the movie

Lois and Perry look great! As for Superman, I'm still not hyped over the costume. I am a huge Superman fan and David totally looks like Superman! I love the cape with the S shield on the back, the vibrant colours and I don't even mind that he has the trunks again, but the costume overall has me underwhelmed. I truly hope that it will look amazing in the movie.
I understand why the suit is like that right now people are made why the suit isn’t tight. If the suit was tight he won’t have the chance to move freely for action scene
damn the coolaid drinking is strong here I'm sorry but that costume is atrocious. It looks like its trying to do too much, instead of one thing, it certainly doesn't fit him well But the only good look is the drape of the cape from behind, bu i'm not a fan of the symbol on the cape. There is a reason the newer suits in the comics look better without the trunks. its so out dated. I get the nostalgia, but there are some things that can be let go of, and the trunks on the outside is one.
They look like big red diapers. And the lumpy wrinkled suit makes it look worse.

I'm interested to see the story, but I really don't like the suit. Because of its colour, can they fix it with CGI? It just feels like none of David's muscle-building is being enhanced by this rubber cosplay suit. What are your thoughts?
2:54- I know you're saying imagine, but Corenswet can and does look heroic without needing to imagine the Williams theme and Superman 1978. It's an iconic film and score, yes, but the more people bring it up, the longer the masses will refuse to move on when we've had equally iconic themes since then between The Animated Series, Cavill, and Hoechlin.
So far I love the colours, super bright! Fingers crossed for a tighter suit in post, and please, please, please don't let them inject DEI into it.

This is the highest I have been excited for a movie since The Batman. It's really amazing seeing the movie slowly being created and witnessing it is just the best vibe. Hope is filling my summer this 2024 and will do it even more in 2025, July 11th.

Back in 2005, there has been a Superman fan film trailer with Mike O'Hearn as Superman in a classic Superman Suit. THIS would have been Superman. There is no really good Superman movie yet, and this one won't be either.
Christopher Reeve: Didn't look like Superman, but was brilliant in acting as Superman.

Henry Cavil: Looked off camera more like Superman, than in Camera. Snyder f*cked Superman up. Superman is hope, because he is always good. Snyder destroyed that reputation.

Quit blaming Gunn for what happened with Cavill during previous ownership. Cavill was not under contract and Gunns Superman was always going to be a separate thing from the DCEU then when he was made Co Head of DC studios he just decided to leave the other universe behind and go into a different part of the multiverse basically restarting the whole thing. The other stuff is there and if in the future he wants to revisit he can buy right now it's not in the best interest of the studio
This is the worst live action suit I’ve ever seen. Sorry it looks cheap and just like I expected it would. Like they just adapted the guardians of the galaxy three suits. Too baggy and too creased. It doesn’t compliment the hard work cornswet out into his physique

I love that OurMovieNews is excited for this Superman. Truly. I wish I could climb on board. But, literally, every other actor who has portrayed Superman seems to have a better suit in MY opinion.
Cornsweat's suit does look cosplay to me. I've never liked collars on Superman. His trunks look baggy. And not in a good way. Like adult diapers. Maybe they'll tweak some things with CG. But I think that'll take some doing. His suit bubbles up in various places when he makes simple movements.
Every other actor who has portrayed Superman had a suit that conformed to their body. Even if it was tights, it looked better.
The best SUIT (not talking about actors) is still Henry Cavill's suit. It still stands as the only suit to do away with the trunks. It not only conforms to his body but accentuates his musculature. It also has a foreign alien vibe design if you look closely. Comparing this to the new rubber suit is just insulting.
There's a lot to say, but I won't get into anything else. This gripe is strictly on the suit. My honest viewpoint. -OG
That's a silly gripe to have considering that suits are easily the least improtant part of superhero films. They need to be accurate, not look good. Not to mention, hollywood is notrious for having bad costumes on set photos and then the movie comes out and everyone is like "what were we all angry about again?".
