Sounds like the saw in the distance around 4:30 and 28:20 is way lean, and it doesn’t sound like an auto tune saw either. I have noticed one of the fallers you work with has a saw (sounds like a Stihl 461) that’s often a little lean as well as a little dull or high raker chain. Don’t mean to pick on anyone or anything but I hear it from time to time. I wonder if the moisture causes the camera to stop filming.

Great video. I have not watched all of yours as late to the channel but I saw that you switched from the Cannon to Stihl Lite. Did you cover this? @6:40 "little shi......stuff" Nice save, lol! Nasty day out. We get that type in the woods in Northern New England, USA. Rain/snow mix with some on the ground. Wet and sloppy 35-40 degrees. Chills to the bone. Sucks but the job has to get done.

Butler, this is probably the coolest fell I've seen you do in a year. Love the thought process leading up to taking the cedar and the old school board that you improvised on site.
Why was the 592 struggling in the beginning? Was it the amount of moisture in the chips causing them to clog on ejection?

His video's are spectacular with the way the tripod is set up and the headcam. Nice view of what is happening and explanation of what he is doing and why. A little more info on the job would be nice. Total clearing, select cut, cut for cedar only etc. This channel should have way more subs

In this kinda timber it varies on type and diameter other factors come in to play like rot etc… he most likely has a sheet of paper with a formula for calculating lengths.

Before you go putting yourself into hot water, James. I truly suggest you go do some research and educate yourself and learn all the steps and techniques and procedures when it comes to doing the reforestation processes.
Because it is important to know as well as understand both sides of it rather than being a one track minded person and be made out as a jerk or a this or a that just saying.

@@AaronTheViking250 Never said anything about you personally. i'm sure you love the forest as much as me. I also work in the woods in the summers. both of us are complicit in an exploitative system. as I walk though areas that have been clear cut (they are easy to access for the types of exploration I am paid to do. I find garbage and illegally cut trees all the time. it is shocking really the disrespect for the forrest I have witnessed. often single trees which are left because of their status are left in the open in a vast field, exposed to the elements and totally isolated with no chance to survive. these trees will never be given the chance to regrow in the state you are seeing them in. it needs to be scaled back and closely regulated. old growth should be off limits
