      The show would be great if it stayed real.
      Most of those "reality shows" are scripted and lame. If you do a show pls dont change how you do things.
      You have got the only true logging channel worth watching.
      Awsome chanel Bjarne!

      For a season you need angle hence the fake drama in other programmes. Maybe a one off documentary? The production company will love that you self shoot, saving them time and money whilst giving them authenticity. (I work for TV company in the Uk)

      I was just coming to say the same thing. I have pulled wrenches in a mine and drove truck for a lot of years. Then shows like ice road truckers and gold rush are such a joke because of all the fake crap that goes on. I do like the idea of a one off doc. That’d be the best way to stay authentic and real. Make the film then sell it to the CBC Doc channel or something similar. Channels like Discovery, History, and TLC just want faux drama set in the real world under the guise of education. You need to go get in touch with Dustin on Destination Adventure. He’s another BC boy with a very well produced one man travel show on UA-cam. He might have some ideas for the multi camera stuff. The old ghost towns, mines and camps he explores in the Canadian wilderness are right up your alley. Muskoka Freerider does some good videography too.

    There was one about 15 years ago from Vancover Island. It was called "Heli-Loggers", followed a small crew around and showed their work and then the chopper doing the lifts out. I think it only ran for 3 seasons.

    No major commercial network would pick it up without making significant changes, primarily manufactured drama.
    Best bet for television would be one of the public networks, PBS or CBC, or perhaps BBC documentaries.
    Or, you could stay on the network you're on (YT), and give cameras to other fallers, or the pilots. A big hurdle you might find with a network is liability and who gets the profits. Whatever company you're falling for would have an solid argument for reaping the rewards.
    PS, got your sweater as a Christmas gift. Medium was the perfect size and it looks great!

    Hemlock ..heavey dense wood and smells like dirty sox. Happy New Year Bjarne ... you had a camera operator way back...I think having a camera operator would give you the best bang for the bucks. And if camera man also handled editing you would have a nice small consolodated operation. Liability coverage might be too pricey but a full waiver of responsibility for the company could work. The drone idea is great, and perfect for a camera operator, leaving you the job of felling/bucking..

    Heli logging would be cool although interesting I mainly watch for getting the bar unstuck , leaning timber , technical stuff etc which helps me when we have to fell on the farm or tidy after a storm. Very small scale but this is how I learn , paying for our staff to get certified but at 70 too old to do that much myself.

    Most definitely, showing other areas of the types of logging removal of these monster trees, like the Heli logging. Inside that helicopter, while lifting logs out, super cool. Other fellers embarking on different areas of the tracks you work in. I imagine some logs get floated down river still. Seeing a mill in action cutting the boards would be fascinating too. I love Mill work. My friend built a Mill, I help him at times. It is pretty exciting. Go for it Bjarne. We need more then the gold rush.

    Go for the drone Bjarne, you can just send it up and gps lock it in place or programme it to fly around any route you like. Hovering close to the top & following the tree top to the ground would be a cool angle.

  • @billbezzant3033
    @billbezzant3033 Рік тому +1

    Start by using an Insta360 camera, so you can wander your gaze while cutting and bucking, and you can go back and change your view and zoom when you hear a tree falling, never missing anything. And you never have to run and grab the camera when the tree starts it’s fall, you can zoom out, look up, follow the tree down, and zoom in during the fall, all without touching the camera unless you need to raise or shift the camera to see around a corner during the fall. If they let you, you can stick the Insta360 out the helicopter window on a long stick to get fantastic in-flight and on-approach landing shots. This is all before having to go with a second camera or a camera crew following you around.
