- This video includes an update on my rig including the unveiling and walk-around of my new Four Wheel Camper brand Raven Model pop-up camper. I also briefly mentioned other miscellaneous truck updates. This video shot on my first trip to the Valley of the Gods, Utah. 2-27-2021
Nice and clean setup, do you have to uprgrade the suspension to sustain the weight of the camper?
Thank you. Yes, I upgraded the springs all around. My goal was to keep it about stock height but with the extra weight. Deaver supplied the rear components that do the real work.
WHAT IS YOUR TOTAL CAMPER WT WITH YOUR OPTIONS WITH DOG! ?
thanks for the great video very informative after watching all 3 video .can you do more plz. awesome setup
That is such a sweet looking setup! Just purchased a Tremor, thinking about the Raven, can you tell me how you have liked it all this time? Assuming you still have it?? Thanks for any input, my local dealer is asking 46K all in with suspension upgrades, sheez!!
Great looking set up! And beautiful opening shot! The camper fits the short box really well. Good to know I've got options for my 21' F150 with a 5.5ft box. Wondering if you considered air bags for the rear?
Thanks for the comment! I didn't need it with the leaf spring setup on the Gen 2. I had HD Deavers on it and it carried the weight perfectly! My new 21 Raptor has coils in the rear, and to use the same camper, I did add HD springs and airbags.
Good morning, I would like to ask you for information, how much is the height in cm from street level to the roof, naturally with the roof closed Thank you.
Thanks for the comment. The truck fits into my garage with a few cm to spare… my garage door is approximately 8 ft or 243 cm.
Is there an option besides the rollover couch? Thanks.
Nice Clip. Thanks for posting. 1. Roughly, what was the price OTD? 2. What's the length of the Raven and/your bed length.
Really sweet.
I wonder if a pooper
would fit in that cabinet
by the door. It's color
reduces the heat load
from the 100° heat,
and look at the wiring!
It's at least 10k more than
the empty similar campers,
but I would go with this.
It's pretty much turnkey.
How much did it cost to upgrade the springs and does it affect the off-roading capabilities? I have a 2011 6.2 Raptor and looking to get a camper for it. Thanks!
What did this run you cost wise 30k?
Thanks for the comment! Yes, with options around 30k.
WGAT IS YOUR TOTAL CAMPER WT WITH OPTIONS YOU CHOSE ?
Great ride! Sorry to hear about the Cam Phaser issue. Did you have to add any air bags to level the ride? How hard is it to take off and install the camper? Do you use turn buckles?
Very nice setup! I ordered a Scout camper lightweight hard shell for my Lightning. But realize aerodynamics will force me to get a pop up for the most mileage with an EV. What is the weight of your camper with your additions?
I have no idea… but now I’m curious. I’ll weigh it soon and report back!
Hi, what is the total height of the car and the box?
Did you do anything to your rear suspension for the extra load? ~1klbs for that setup feels like a lot and would squat the rear quite a bit.
Yes, the springs were upgraded all around. The rear has a set from Deaver. I called them and explained how much weight I added, and how high I wanted it, and they sent me a nice set of rear leaf springs. It basically just recalibrated the truck for the load and I still operate in the shock's stock range. Before the springs, I had a definite sagging issue.
@@benzfanatical Are you running C read or E rated tires?
@@benzfanatical after a year in, how is the truck still handling the Raven and it’s weight? I’m debating going with a Raptor but the low payload is what has be hesitant to pull the trigger.
@@ryanodaniel562 it’s doing great! 175,000 miles with no issues!
@@benzfanatical did you need jack extensions to push the front jacks out further from the camper so the rear fenders would fit or did it fit as is?
Looks so good
Thank you!
I’ve been considering the bead locks on my 19, how much does the tire move outward? Also how are they to live with daily? I bet that if you did a detailed video on that it would get a lot of views. Thank you any and all info will be greatly appreciated.
I love the bead locks, but they do have certain costs. The first is adding to the unsprung weight. That increased fuel consumption a little. Second, some shops won't touch them or service tire-related items due to them. It does increase your field repairability, however. It widens the track by about an inch per corner, which I like. I did pop two tires on an overland trip during the first week of trying a new tire brand. Some tires don't do well with the bead locks, I learned. The BFG KM3 has been the best, in my opinion. I should probably do a video on this stuff. That's a great idea. Thank you!
Thank you I think Im going to do this. If you don’t mind me asking what tires did you have issues with? Im tossed between maxxis razer mt and yokohama geo mt no idea how to spell that lol
@@ChrisB-rw6jy I had issues with Toyo MTs. The curb lip pinched the bead lock ring and snipped the side wall. I know the KO2 and KM3 does well and I had a set of General Grabber X3s I liked too.
Thank you
Thanks again for the video suggestion... I just uploaded a new one outlining my beadlock experience.
thank Crish thank vm
how long is that roll over bed?
Very nice setup.
Can I buy this please
Great photography and lighting on the that opening shot!
Thank you very much!
Where did you get that front bumper? Thanks
The front is a Warn Ascent bumper. I had to get an additional bracket to relocate the adaptive cruise system. I think it was ADD.
is that a 5’ bed on the truck?
Yes. 5.5 feet on the Raptor and some F150s. Also, I think you can get a Tundra and GM 1500s in this bed size.
All Raptors only have the 5.5 foot bed, even the SuperCab models. I have the SuperCab model myself they are much shorter overall and that translates into being better off-road. I don’t say that to take anything from the SuperCrew models. There’s a big sacrifice to interior room with the SuperCab model.
This is a very nice rig!!
I wonder if he knows he can take the bungees down that hold the sides in? They are only to help close the top, and are not needed otherwise. Hahaha.
Lubricant on those door hinges please.lol
