You go girl! I love Rustoleum paint it is my favorite paint and recommended to me by my sister :) I also love, love, love old houses! We restored a 100 year old house before our children came along. It was a labor of love and well worth the work so don't give up!
Took your idea and went to town today painting the shelving under my sink for starters. I used rustoleum because it is oil based. I have to admit it looks pretty nice. My house is very old and let go until we moved in. That's why I find your idea's so helpful.
Not only are your organizational videos very helpful but your home is beautiful. I would give just about anything to have a kitchen with all that space. I have a small galley type kitchen with exactly 6 cupboards only 1 of them is a double. I had a seventh one that was wider but had to sacrifice it for a dishwasher. Even with less storage the dishwasher was totally worth it :) Thank you so much for all your helpful videos and sharing your lovely home.
wow! love your home and watching your videos has inspired me to organize and get my home in order! We just bought a home a year ago and has alot of updating to do so your videos has given me tons of ideas :) Thanks for sharing!
Jackie Duty-I'm glad my videos are motivating you to organize! Tip* organizing doesn't have to be expensive so don't go crazy on containers, but have have fun, I tend to over do it when I go to the conatiner store and sometimes go there just for the ideas and then think what can I use instead of this particular container and shop around for something less expensive or recyled :)
What a great idea to cut the brilliant pads into pieces. I never use the entire pad before it rusts either. Thank you, I will definitely be using that tip.
shabbychicdew-Thank you again for your lovely comments:) My shelves have a coated wipeable surface from the manufacturer. I haven't found a liner I have been happy with. Contact style liner is so hard for me to remove leaving pieces stuck to the drawer. The skid resistant liner still moved around on me, which I was always having to straighten. I think what I would do if I had drawers that needed lining is paint them on the inside with a good oil based paint that would resist spills.
rowiegrl-Thank you for leaving comments it is one of my favorite parts of doing these you tubes. I felt like I needed more cabinets too, but the more I purged and organized the more room I had. Let me know how you use these ideas and any other questions you may have
for lining shelves and drawers get some soft flooring vinyl. It's easy to cut to shape and easy to wipe clean, it's more or less stain proof and waterproof. You can colour coordinate it too.
Your home is just too beautiful for words Becky. I am wondering if you line your shelving with any thing. I tried to see, but can't tell. If so, what do you use? I have tried contact paper, but if it gets a tear or anything that requires replacing, it takes a lot of work to remove it. Anything loose moves on me and I have to try to straighten it out which can be a bear. Any suggestion's?
malona23 a little dish soap on a damp cloth is all I use on my stainless steel :) So good to hear from you again and so glad you are watching other videos :)
