@@Tacomaholic I have a 2012 Tacoma With JBL radio GPS is not working Also, Bluetooth does not work and Aux does not read flash Can you help me How can I tune the radio
Hey Dude! Thank you very much for making this series of video's. I have the exact same switch configuration as you do on my 2010 Tacoma. The only lights that actually have ever worked since I took delivery of the truck when it was brand new were the DAC and AC switches. Yes I know I could have gone back to the dealership, asked about it and had them replace them but at the time I really wasn't sure they were even suppose to light up. After a while I just lived with it because I had several other issues within the first 3 years of ownership that I had to go back to the dealership for and honestly I absolutely hate dealing with them. It was always a full day or overnight ordeal and I figured this light thing was minor. Anyway I just finished replacing five of the bulbs with the LEDs you recommended and they work great now. Can't wait until tonight when it gets dark and I can really appreciate the new illumination. Anyway Thanks again for taking the time to educate the rest of us. It is greatly appreciated.
@@Tacomaholic I wanted to stay with the same color scheme as when I bought the truck so I went with Amber...............but when I went out last night so I could see them working in the dark I was slightly disappointed. The color is off. The new Amber LEDs are much lighter than the rest of the dashboard lights. No don't get me wrong I am super stoked that all the switch lights are working after over a decade of them not. It's just that my OCD has kicked in and the difference in color is slightly disappointing. I'm wondering if maybe I should have done what you did and gone with the red LEDs instead. In either case thank you once again for your video. I've used several of your recommendations, Seat Jackers being one of them. What a world of difference!

Hi Brian, Thanks for your vids. I've added an aftermarket fog light set with harness including fuse, relay and switch to my 4 cylinder 2014 Tacoma. Circuit works, only problem is I cannot find room around the factory harness feed thru to run my switch wires inside the cabin. Any help will be appreciated ! Thx.
Thanks for watching! I've had to pop new holes in the factory rubber wire opening in the firewall for additional wires. If you go that route just push through slowly with something sharp then carefully feed the wire through on a coat hanger or something similar.
@Tacomaholic This is the second time you've answered a question for me. The fact that you respond right away is awesome. Will def try your recommendation. Thanks for the help!
Just did a bar light install on mine, was able to fish the wires through without removing all the body panels. I just took out the plate where the electronic mirror adjustment goes, (I don’t have electric mirrors, but I think you could still do it even if you did), and reached into that to pull the wires up and around to the main switch panel. Hope this helps!
Question for ya so I got a 2006 Toyota Tacoma sr5 while in this project I came to find I think it was 3 plugs that had no buttons to considering I have a sr5 and It was a hand-me-down I am not exactly sure what they are to. I was thinking maybe a diff lock button like I have seen come stock with others but I am not too sure. Can someone explain to me please?
After reading this a few times, I think this is the same problem I have. I have a 2007 SR5 and 2 of my switch slots are blanks, upon further inspection, they are fully wired from the rear, just blanks. On the top row I have (from left to right) fog, diff locker, and power to the bed. What is the lower row? Is there any way to see if the switches are really live and just need the lighted switch?
Nice video as always, thanks. Waiting for the led colour change video, I would opt for red or amber dash illumination anytime, but I wonder if its applicable on my 3rd gen trd offroad. I think I have to see your walk through, analyse and compare if I can apply same method. Keep it up and thanks.
Thanks! I'll be recording and uploading (weather permitting) the led bulb change vid today). Accessing those switches on your 3rd gen will be different of course, but the bulb size and swapping method is probably identical.
@@alexalvarez9462 If I remember correctly the 2005-2011 Tacomas have regular incandescent bulbs behind the center console area ... so if you open it up you should be able to swap them for colored leds.
You can do it in 2 minutes with a lot less hassle, here's how. Partially straighten out a larger wire paper clip. Don't straighten all the way out you will need a loop for a small handle to hold onto. Take needle nose pliers and put a 160ish degree bend on the end of the paper clip so you have a little hook on the end. Insert this between the side of the switch or switch blank and the dash…yes, there is enough of a gap to do this… push in a half inch or so… turn paper clip 90 degrees so that the little hook you made will grab the switch and then start to gently pull back out. When you start to meet some resistance give a sharp little tug and voila! Switch pops right out. The little claws that hold the switch in do not grab very hard so the straight back pull pops them easily with no damage.Took me less than 2 minutes to pull a switch out.
I want to swap the position of the 400W/100W and the RR Diff Lock. Do you think that there is enough play in the wiring for this? Thanks for all your help with the Tacoma. Upgraded the '07 to a '15 in May and am cranking through my Mod List.
