Pretty cool bro! Nice and simple.... imagine 20 yrs from now when 3d printers will be in every home... plus faster and more accurate...
They won't be. Everyone has this mindset that 3d printers are something every home can use. What will every home print with them? I can understand hobbyists like us using them (and even then it's sometimes better to use other methods) and people that build prototypes. But 3d printers are already as cheap as they come and still only hobbyists use them. We had one at the office that we got via public funding. I was the only one using it and even then for my personal stuff. 3d printers are not something that everyone can and will use.
winnetouch I completely disagree. They will become far more popular as printing speeds increase. I mean look ... it took almost 24 solid hours to print a small pumpkin. That isn’t convenient at all.
What will the average household print? You really underestimate the popularity and convenience of plastic.
Almost every cooking utensil I own is plastic, chip clips, command hooks, toothbrush holder, soap dish ... I mean, I could go on for hours.
The main roadblock right now is time, size, ease of use and the knowledge of their existence.
There are still people that don’t even know what 3D printing is or that it’s possible. I didn’t even know you could get one for under $500 now.
They will gain popularity and I would say within the next 10-15 years be in most households. People said the exact same thing that you said about the PC.
Amazeballs.
My kind of Halloween 🤓
@wermy this is a very cool project! i'm wondering if it can be adapt with adafruit separate eyes? ans also if the sensor can at the same time sound like a laugh and open the eyes as after a while the eyes will shut down for more effect? thank you for your help
That's awesome
Thanks Dawg
I remember me and my code club students making a similar project. We did it with an arduino uno, an ultrasound sensor some LEDs and the guts of a toy witch. It was supposed to laugh and flash when somebody passed by. The sad thing was that the lantern was literally a carved pumpkin. Somebody forgot to take the electronics out of it. You can imagine my reaction. It was an original arduino uno.
You should consider making an animation for the mouth kinda like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in wonderland. Awesome project!
Where did you get the animation for the eyes? Did you program it from scratch with the raspberry pi or find it online somewhere?
Awesome, got a link to the eyes video? I couldn't find anything similar.
I couldn't find anything free that I liked, so I got it from here: www.totalhomefx.com/product/spooky-eyes/
thanks, i stumbled on that one too, shall remember it for next year :-)
I saw your gameboy zero part 2 and I saw your sd card cartridge board. I makes video games and I always wanted to play the game on a console. Is it possible to put a game I created in the SD card and play the game off of that? If so, will there have to be some tweaking on the raspberry pi that I need to do to be able to do that?
Cool! What OS do you use on your pi for such projects?
Which components did you use with the mini speaker to be able to play an audio file through it? What’s connected to the Pi zero?
It's super cool how much will you think it will cost To turn one of those into a raspberry pi console if you built for me
Wermy your my tech inspiration
2 year old video, still fascinating! Should make another project!
Cool
More like this! Things I could actually try to do!
Name of the music please
Also very cool!
When will you update the software part of the minty pi on your wiki
Nice! Say.... Can you do a Raspberry Pi Game Console thing that can plug into TV via HDMI and play games of your choosing using controllers exclusive to the console?
How much did it cost to print it? How much resin did you need?
Would you share your video with the green eyes?
You don’t read the comments but yes would love to see more of these kind of videos
+Rikard Hammer who says I don’t read them? ;)
Hey what is the music being played?
How long was it outside before it got stolen?
please do more
Can you sell kits on ur site for the mintypi I would love that
What language do you use for programming the raspberry pi to work with the sensors?
+Juan Rojas python
Wow...
How do I get minty pi parts?
Nice ! quick let me run and buy a 3d printer at the corner store and print a black pumpkin that i will throw in two days !
👍👍👍
this reminds me of "toothless" from how to train your dragons...
I guess I should read comments too..
What board is it that you are using??
whats the model of your printer?
I printed that on a Raise3D N2.
alright thanks!
How’ve you been sir werm
