I think you missed the best ever -- Gino Marchetti, Defensive End, Baltimore Colts # 89. Before sacks were an official NFL statistic, the Colt coaches went through an entire season's game films to see how many sacks he had that year. He had 40. That's FORTY. One season. He was huge, strong and quick. He often just flew right past the offensive lineman and was in the backfield just like that.
I may be biased as a Panthers fan but 2 players come to mind as intimidating from Carolina, Steve Smith Sr, who straight up bullied DBs, and Luke Kuechly, who had a similar impact to Ray Lewis, except exchanged brutal hits for studying film, literally calling out offensive plays😂
Dorsett was the prettiest scariest running back ever. No one dominated college - a man among boys - like Tony Dorsett. His long ago runs look so modern today. He would run seeming in slow motion with such control. Once he mapped out that path into the end zone, he was gone!
Not saying your wrong about LT being #1, but LT himself said Deacon Jones was the scariest ever. Jones played in that earlier Butkus, Nitschke era, and his signature moves -- the head slap and the clothesline, were already outlawed by the 80s. When LT snapped Theismann's leg, LT was horrified, and motioned the medics onto the field. Jones hated QBs so bad that he would have loved to have done that to EVERY QB he faced. He would have enjoyed it. Deacon had 173.5 sacks in an era where the NFL didn't track sacks. And you ought to look up Jack Tatum, as well.
Lawrence Taylor is the greatest defensive player of all time and the most intimidating. I would have put Jerry Rice instead of Moss but still a really good job on this list.
Great list. If you get a chance look up Bob Brown, he literally should probably be number one on this list, also deserving mention Jack Tatum, Lyle, Alzado, Joe Greene, Earl Campbell.
Sean Taylor. Because of his passion for the game, he left all of his anger on the field and was a family man. I truly believe that Sean could make it on to the top 10 someday. Even though his life was cut short he was a freak, his speed and power was great and unmatched for a safety.
LT could do anything and then did on and off the field Must have been terrifying to think what was going to happen next when it was your turn to face him Loads of great stories of players admitting how scary he was, including an Eagles lineman who couldn’t sleep past Thursday on Giants week
Jack Lambert, Mel Blount, Jack Tatum, Steve Atwater deserved more than an honorable mention. Atwater laid Christian Okoye out, Ronnie Lott too, Deion was scary, Devin Hester because of his return abilities, Brian Dawkins
También están John Linch, Tony Siragusa, Ladeinia Tomlimson, Shanon Sharpe, Jamal Lewis, Zach Thomas, Ricky William's, Daunte Culpeper que tenia cuerpo de Linbacker, ell ya muerto Dennis Bird, el ya muerto también Sean Taylor tan duro como el mismo Dawkings. Buen video.
Chuck Bednarik? He’s one of the last two way players. He’s famous for being the guy standing over Frank Gifford in the black and white photo taken after he hit Gifford (look up “The Hit”), sending him out of the NFL for 18 months. Concrete Charlie was one bad dude. Oh and he was a war hero.
You did at least mention Night Train Lane! Could he have covered Randy Moss? Depends on the rules at the time? People who played against Lane would put him up at the top. Funny no members of the Steal Curtain or the 1985 Bears? No Rams from the 1960’s? Need to do Top 10 Scariest Defenses, Top Ten Scariest Kick off and Punt returners. I like your concept of top 10’s.
You need a special teams player on this list, and there was never a special teams player as intimidating as Devin Hester. He changed games for years when opposing teams simply refused to kick to him, giving the Chicago Bears terrific field position rather than chance a touchdown return.
Earl Campbell deserves a mention. He was frighteningly punishing. When then feared hitter Jack Tatum collided with Earl at the goal line, Tatum went backwards…. Campbell went forward right into the end zone.
Dawkins should be on the list. And James Harrison And I Know He Died Too Soon But Let’s Not Act Like Sean Taylor Wasn’t Putting The Belt To Anybody He Got His Hands On 😭
What you said about Barry is exactly how Dorsett was. Except once he got past the linebackers no one could catch him. Besides the one time Darrell Green did.
No Jack Tatum? You must be kidding me. Jack once issued a warning to opposing quarterbacks saying " if you throw the ball over the middle of the field, your receiver is going to get killed." Anyone remember his hit on Sammy White in Super Bowl 11? Probably is in the top 5 NFL hits of all time.
LT BABY! I love how no matter what team ur a fan of, LT is always number one! Was always a NY GIANT and was never traded! He put the Giants on the map back in ‘81!
Kam “Bam Bam” Chancellor was the BOOM in the Legion of Boom. They would have him get off the bus first to intimidate opponents. Vernon Davis can attest first hand, Kam was the scariest player of his era lol
Andre Johnson was better an didnt have the QB either Carr was ok but had no blocking Stafford clearly better didnt miss a beat statistically without Calvin
It is a cardinal sin not having "The Manster" Randy White, Harvey Martin (23 sacks in a 14 game season) or Deacon Jones on this list. Moss over Rice, makes no sense either.
Barry is not scary. Randy is not scary. Ed Reed, you can say he’s a physical safety, but not that scary. You may misunderstand the meaning of that word.
PLEASE DO ANOTHER LIST!!! maybe top 30 or so...because I feel everyone with Derrick Thomas, Jack Tatum and others but no one said Steve Atwater or Ronnie Lott😢😢😢
I do not agree with this list. Jack Tatum and Ronnie Lott are safeties that fear into opposing players, and neither are on this list? Dick “Night Train” Lane and Deion Sanders put fear into many opposing players and coaches. Lyle Alzado, Doug Atkins and Deacon Jones put more into offenses than Bruce Smith. Bob Brown and Erik Williams put fear into defensive players. Williams dominated Reggie White and “Mean” Joe Greene admitted to be intimidated by Bob Brown. Earl Campbell was the most feared running back on his first years in the league. And Larry Allen more than just bench pressed 700 lb pounds. He put fear into every defensive lineman he lined up in front of. This list needs to be truly thought out and done over.
Deacon Jones, Lyle Alzado, and James Harrison.
On me Lyle was scary and deacon
James Harrison
There’s also “Mean” Joe Greene, Jack Lambert, Alan Page, Randy White, and Warren Sapp!
those should've been the the 5 latter picks the 5 best were actually really solid
Bill romanowski ?
@@derelictrick6534 steve atwater was more feared on that team bill was just a jackass
Randy White!!
Night Train Lane
Jack Tatum is a glaring omission, Richard Dent & the 46 defense of the 85 Bears also deserve a shout!!!
Ronnie Lott?!
Can't help but think Sean Taylor would've been on this list if not for his unfortunate death.😢
YUP! NEED Sean on this list... only got a few years but was the hardest hitter ever
Definitely
I agree!!!
Yep ask that poor punter who got laid out by him in the Pro Bowl

Earl Campbell deserves a mention.
I been saying that
LT being #1 is very accurate. Maybe throw in the entire 85 Bear Defense for 3 or 4. Also I don't remember seeing Derrick Thomas from the Chiefs.
Jerry rice had 22 TDs in 12 games in 1987.a record that will never be broken!!!
How about James Harrison?
How you forget Derrick Thomas? He was a holy terror coming around the corner and getting to the QB. Pat Swilling too.
Dorsett was the prettiest scariest running back ever. No one dominated college - a man among boys - like Tony Dorsett. His long ago runs look so modern today. He would run seeming in slow motion with such control. Once he mapped out that path into the end zone, he was gone!
Dorsett was feared!!
Too many dominant college runners
Eric Dickerson
Bo Jackson
Thurman Thomas
Barry Sanders
@@aceassn716 And none of those broke the record for most yards. Dorsett held the all time collegiate rushing yards record for 25-30 years.
James Harrison dealt out concussions like they were M&M’s

In my opinion. Mean Joe Green , Bob Lilly, Randy White, Lyle Alzado, and Howie Long deserve some recognition ❗️
How about Earl Campbell. Undoubtedly one of the most punishing and intimidating runners of all time.
My guy John Randle, painted his face, very intense scary dude, and has the most sacks by a defensive tackle in the history of football.
He was scared of Larry Allen.
Aaron Donald is going to break his record
@@williamsummerson1204 Larry Allen would have made Darnold cry.

Honorable Mentions - Sean Taylor, Deacon Jones, Mike Singletary, Ronnie Lott
Lawrence Taylor is the greatest defensive player of all time and the most intimidating. I would have put Jerry Rice instead of Moss but still a really good job on this list.
Night train lane have to be on the list
Absolutely! Back then, there were no rules that favored the offense. They let the defense PLAY!
Great list.

No
Coach Prime!!
John Lynch is one and Jack Lambert is another scary dude
At the time , Mark Gastineau was no slouch
Jack Lambert from the Steel Curtin Defense. He should be on here…
Earl Campbell deserves a mention. He was frighteningly punishing. When then feared hitter Jack Tatum collided with Earl at the goal line, Tatum went backwards…. Campbell went forward right into the end zone.
You mentioned Night Train Layne, but didn't put him on the list, Decon Jones, the man who gave us the term Sack, and Jack Lambert and Ronnie Lott.
Jack Lambert! Nuff said!
Dawkins should be on the list. And James Harrison And I Know He Died Too Soon But Let’s Not Act Like Sean Taylor Wasn’t Putting The Belt To Anybody He Got His Hands On 😭
Idky Mr Leroy Butler doesn't get the love but he was a great blitzer and made big plays. He's also a champion.
Decon Jones, troy Palomalou, James Harrison, Mel Blount the man changed how you have to play corner. There's so many you missed man but good video
mean joe greene, jack lambert
Green & lambert made Taylor them 2 would make plays go the other way they did.
Glad Bruce Smith made the list! All time sack leader a record that may never be broken.
What you said about Barry is exactly how Dorsett was. Except once he got past the linebackers no one could catch him. Besides the one time Darrell Green did.
As a Dallas fan be sure to look up
How many fumbles Tony Dorsett had.. he had the yips
@@aceassn716 I agree with that. But one could argue the same on Barry Sanders plays that were negative losses as well. Both are elite backs.
Deebo James Harrison is scary as shit, even though ray Lewis would murder you off the field, James would on the field just timeless.
Chris Spielman - The Human Wreckin' Ball - Detroit Lions #54
You missed Mean Joe Greene, Jack Lambert and Jack Tatum
Larry Allen?!??!!?

No Randy White, Rulon Jones,Cliff Harris,Jack Tatum,Lyle Alzado etc etc?
Jack Tatum, John Lynch and John Randle had to be in it. And Marshawn Lynch, too, baddest sob of a running back ever
What about Jack Lambert he was one Bad Ass and he was scary looking and he brought the fear and pain.
To not have Jack Tatum as #1 on this list, let alone not even mentioned, is a travesty.
Chris Spielman
By the way Randi moss also played for the San Francisco 49ers
Lawrence Taylor
Leaving JJ Watt out is criminal
Calvin Johnson over randy moss he was definitely more intimidating
True. No way to stop Megatron not even with triple coverage
Andre Johnson was better an didnt have the QB either
Carr was ok but had no blocking
Stafford clearly better didnt miss a beat statistically without Calvin
Lott AND Atwater were both MUCH more intimidating than Ed Reed Reggie White and a few others

Reggie White played at the same time as Bruce Smith
Mean Joe Greene, Derrick Henry, Brian Dawkins
Deacon Jones
Decon Jones, by far the greatest defensive end to ever play the game!!!
Deacon Jones, who wanted to "put all the qb's in a bag and bash them with a baseball bat"

Deon Sanders. He cut off half of the field, QBs wouldn’t even throw his way. If you put receivers on here then you can’t leave out PrimeTime.

Calvin Johnson is scarier than Randy Moss. He was a better blocker and more physical. Neither one should be on this list.

It’s not a list of dog murderers so Michael Vick didn’t make it.
Hands down the best defensive player at any position ever is Lawrence F@cking Taylor!!! Period.

To me what I think is who would be the number one dominating throughout his season is Haloti Ngat’a number 92 for the Baltimore Ravens ?
Y’all gotta mention earl Campbell, ion know how he wasn’t on here
You should use the same premise but break it down by position.
Just started this video, but as a Seahawks fan, hoping Marshawn or Kam on here
As far as intimidation goes Dick Butkus was number 1. The rest I agree with. Good job!
Not one player from the legion of boom? Cam Chancellor , Earl Tomas or Richard Sherman? Gonna have to make a ten more scary players imo
Ronnie Lott!!
If Sean Taylor would have lived longer he would've been this next Ronnie Lott. 🙏😭🙏💯💪
Honorable mention Eric Williams
Erik Reverse Headslap Williams?
Right tackle on Dallas??
