It’s only $6.89 on the Perler website. Currently it’s on sale for $3.79.

I find when I can get it to work, I love it. But when it’s being finicky I could throw it. You really have to find the perfect shaking technique (I like to almost swirl it). Still having to shake versus picking up each individual bead feels like a good trade off.

Totally agree with a 2.0. Even with a bigger holding tank!!

Yes, you're right! You sure do. There is a technique to it that changes almost all the time. Swirling is a great method! I find the pen is fantastic for outlining. I've definitely dropped it on a project before because it was too bulky...so I try to stay away from the detailed work with it. Yes, I couldn't do beading one at a time, so it sure does help.
Yes, a bigger holding tank is a great idea!
Thanks for checking out the video!

hey!! well i do it with my fingers, i find it easier. The pen is like slow XD. Idk, maybe because I always did like this so now I find pen weird to use it.

Hey! That’s great! I’ve seen videos of people free-handing it and I envy them. 😎 Yes, that pen takes some getting used to! I have a pretty good rhythm with it now. 👍🏻 It’s all about what flow works for you.

Haha, sometimes it hates me too! I have to do a lot of shaking to get the beads down…but I do develop a flow through practice. ✅

Finicky or not, compared to the traditional way of placing beads, it's still crazy fast..

Thanks for your comment. I agree completely! It totally changed by outlook on beading. Works great for doing borders for a project!

In this video, it seemed crazy good. But, mine jams every time press the button, and it takes 10 seconds to get one bead out. If you have any tips or tricks to fix this problem, please reply!

Haha, the time-lapse definitely makes it look easier to work with but I still have problems sometimes with it. I find that when it jams...sometimes it's best to push the lever a few times and it will become un-jammed. Also, I find that angling the pen when shaking it will sometimes help the beads go into the channel.
Of course, sometimes this doesn't work either...it just depends, I think, on what the pen wants to do, haha!
      Thanks for watching!

Thanks Ryan! Just tried it out, and I kinda have to press the button 3 times lightly for the button to pop back up. Now, I'm getting quite fast with the pen. Thanks again!

It's better than tweezers when I get it to work. I think mine just needs to be retired.

I agree! I think it's about getting into the right shaking rhythm to get those beads in. Yours is probably worn down. Perler should really re-engineer this pen to make it work better! It would sell well if it worked better. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for your question. I will be testing that out today and I’ll let you know! 😎👍🏻
      (Update)
Okay, I tried it...doesn't work at all because all the beads fall out. Oh well! Unto another technique!

I feel ya! It can be frustrating and definitely not for everybody. I really wish there were better options or that perler could make a better design!
