    Do you use a heat press or an iron?

    Just watched your video this past week and decided to pick up that slightly bigger heat press and wow.... literal game changer! Thanks for doing these videos. ❤

    Thanks for this video, Ryan. I've been using an iron with terrible results (beads get knocked over and the only way I can get good results is to melt it so much the holes close up). Walmart has a HTVRONT bundle with a mini heat press & a 10"x10" press on clearance for $52 so I just ordered it. I also do HTV iron on with my Silhouette die cutter and using an iron is a pain.

      You’re very welcome! I’m happy it’s a great help to you! I’m telling you I’ve had the same thing happen to me before getting these heat presses. I feel your pain. They are so much better!! That’s a great price for that bundle. 👍🏻
      Let me know how that HTVRONT works for you when you get it! ✅

    I use a cricket easy press (pricey but it’s not mine my mom uses it to make custom tees and I just borrow it)

      @@nostalgicnicknacksWelp, first melt went pretty good, second one went TERRIBLE! 😅 I think the third setting is way too hot, even smelled burned and every bead was warped, guess I gotta put it at the low or medium heat lol!

    • @nostalgicnicknacks
      @nostalgicnicknacks  8 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for the update. Sorry the high heat setting didn’t work for you. It takes some finess, but I think you’re right..maybe try the 2nd heat setting. Let me know how that works for you, I’ll have to try it too. 👍🏻 Never give up!

    Awesome tips for someone just beginning their Perler journey! I love your heating technique. I have the cricut mini, but I definitely want that big heat press you have now. 😅

      Thanks for your comment and kind words! I'm so happy it helps you out. I went through some trial and error to figure things out, so I'm happy it helps you! The bigger iron is wonderful! It's just the right size. Heat technique definitely has to be practiced and I went through a bunch of terrible looking projects before getting it right. Your ironing paper makes a difference too! Check out this video if you haven't already. ua-cam.com/video/hJ9K4kEUU6M/v-deo.html
      I tried the biggest size heat press, and it was too heavy...so I was on the search for a good medium size and this one works perfectly! Go for it, I highly recommend it. :) Have a great day!

    I just ironed my first pearler beads with something similar like that, but the bead keeps falling off the little mold. Is there a way to prevent this from happening, should I tape the four side of the ironing paper together to prevent it shifting while ironing or can I use a tshirt heat press

    • @nostalgicnicknacks
      @nostalgicnicknacks  3 місяці тому +1

      Great question! I haven’t had any problems with these heat presses but that sort of thing can happen if you’re not careful. I normally use the standard pegboards but if you have a heart shaped one or something different I’m sure they can fall off.
      I would recommend starting at the edges of the projects and ironing the border first the going from there. Taping would probably be time-consuming but worth a try if you’re a beginner.
      This video may help too..

    The results looked really good! Have you tried making flat melds with both of the heat presses as well?
    I currently keep getting blow outs with my iron, so I'm thinking that the heatpress you showed might be my solution.
    Thank you for the helpful video!

      Thanks for your comment and checking out the video! You're very welcome and I'm glad that it's helped you.
      I have tried a full melt with the bigger heat press and it works great! I'm planning on doing a video soon showing that process, so look forward to that. You can't go wrong with either one of these heat presses...I've been using them for a few years and they are still going strong (very even heating!) I think the even heating helps tremendously with the full melt technique.
      Have a great day and Happy Beading!

      @@nostalgicnicknacks I bought the big heat press after your comment and just tried it out. I absolutely love it! Such a big difference compared to the iron. The results are way more even and it was soo much faster.
      I also tried to go for a flat melt which didn't work out as I wanted yet, but I think that's partially the brand I'm using. Looking forward to your video on that!
      Thanks again for your video! You're a beadsaver!

      Haha! Very good. You're very welcome!
      Feels good to be a beadsaver! Glad you love it! :) It really makes a huge difference. It literally made the difference between me quitting perler beading or not. Before I discovered these presses, the process was very frustrating....now I enjoy it, even would say it's relaxing!
      Keep working on your full melt, you'll get there. Yep, I'll have that video soon. Great stuff!
