Game Of Thones Red Wedding Aftermath scene Robb Stark Death Dead Wolf Head Season 3 Episode 10
For me this is the most traumatic scene of all the seasons, something so sinister about sewing the body of a dead animal onto the body of a dead person...plus Arya to witness the brutality of it too.
I feel the same way about this scene. It's not the most massive bloodshed by GoT standards (way more probably died in the Battle of the Bastards, the destruction of the Sept of Baelor, or at the hands of the Sons of the Harpy) , but something about the details captured here makes it possibly the most disturbing scene in the series; the grotesque way the corpses of both Robb and his wolf are violated, the imagery of a single man running in flames, another being dragged screaming with his legs chopped off, and another desperately trying to break free as he's being hanged. Those are horrific images on their own, but add to the context the fact that all of those men and everyone else in the Stark camp went in believing it would be a night to celebrate a wedding, a reason to breathe and rejoice amidst the day-to-day strife of war. It's more disturbing than the Sept of Baelor because by that point we'd been watching those masses act viciously to our favorites (Tyrion, Ned, Sansa) and even acted horridly to a point where they made us feel sorry for goddamn Cersei, that it was honestly gratifying when they got blown up. It's more disturbing than anything in Meereen because we know Danaerys will just set her dragons on the slavers in seconds, and it's way worse than any brutality in Battle of the Bastards because even with that literal mountain of bodies, it ends with what the Red Wedding started for the Starks and the Northerners finally being set right.
The Hound looked absolutely horrified. That's how seriously fucked up this shit was.
Michael M came here to say exactly what you said. I completely fell same way.
@@annabunovsky5628 damn yes
Michael M: That’s why I don’t feel bad in the slightest for what happened to House Frey at the end of season 6 and beginning of season 7. People like to label Arya as a broken person for killing all those people, but her taking out House Frey holds no water to the brutality of how House Stark was nearly exterminated in the Red Wedding.
You know you've crossed some sick line when you've disgusted the Hound...
Dr Draconian the sight of Robb's dead body and dire wolfs head is top 5 most disturbing shit in GoT's history. There's always some sort of dissatisfaction that comes from likable characters having horrible shit happen to them. We would've all been cheering if this happened to Joffrey/Ramsay.
Dixie Normis bro u r right I'm not weak minded nor do I have a weak stomach shit made me wanna puke and kill every last Bolton,Lannister, and Frey, thank god Arya and Jon did that
Well, the lannisters are still alive (most of them). Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy the red wedding happened, but you got to admit that it was a smart move from Tywin. Without that he could've lost the war. I've always been rooting for the lannisters, but watching this makes me wish they had treated robb with more respect, he's still a king afterall.
@Gajeel Redfox, No most of the lannisters are dead. Hopefully Jon, and Arya will kill the rest of them except for Tyrion, and Jaime.
Yeah, so basicly just cersei XD
This scene hurt me more than the actual Red Wedding. Seeing the Stark banners burning and Robb's corpse desecrated and mocked was just too much.
Jakira Kumahata You know it's fucked up when even The Hound looks disturbed by the sight of that.
Guy Incognito To be fair I think The Hound is just disturbed in general because of all the fire
It's even worse in the books. I think Catelyn gets stripped and thrown into the river to mock her relatives.
+JJ H Yeah she does, although she gets some revenge afterwards.
Robb didn't deserve that mockery 💔😔
if even the hound is disgusted and looks at you in terror, you know you have gone too far...

Doesn't the unimpressed disgusted look on Hound's face say it all or what about how messed up this shit was. He's a pretty tough hardass guy, but even he looked repulsed.
@@heyheyheyheyheyhey76 bronn is a hard ass
Obviously the scene is tragic, but one detail I absolutely love: Sandor shows almost no fear of fire when he's protecting Arya
That is true! Good observation
Never noticed that!
That probably had more to do with them forgetting his fire phobia lol
As a comment once said, “Sandor the Hound fears fire. Sandor the dad fears nothing.”
same happens in the last season, sandors essentially given up and is just waiting to die, then he sees arya being chased and instantly jumps into action charging to the rescue, forgets all his fear all his doubts and just knows that no matter what he is going to do whatever he can to protect her
I wasn't all that disturbed by the Red Wedding, sad yeah, but not disturbed...Until this scene. The image of Robb's body being desecrated like that was horrifying.
+Ian Ferguson I think I felt the same way, granted, I had already heard what would happen during the Red Wedding. to the actual event didn't come as any surprise to me and wasn't as bad as people like to make it seem. This aftermath scene, however, was just a slap to the face made worse by the fact that Arya sees the desecration of her brother and pet direwolf herself which, as one other person mentioned it, even takes someone as grim as the Hound aback.
Same here. This part of the Red Wedding legit made me uncomfortable.
They don't even show Catelyn - in the book, they strip her corpse naked and chuck it in the river as a parody of the Tully funerals. I admit Robb's is worse, but it's all fucking grim
@@TwelvetreeZ Yeah but Cat makes a revenge comeback and survives pretty much.
Same can't be said for poor Robb
Stabbing a pregnant woman repeatedly was disturbing
"Tell me why is it more noble, to kill 10000 men in battle than 12 at dinner"- Tywin Lannister.
Yeah, right. 12 people died here
Well to be fair to Tywin, he would have killed the Starks at dinner and forced the Stark army to kneel or be crushed and send them back North as part of his pragmatic villainy. I don't think he quite counted on just how bloodthirsty and uncaring of collateral damage the Bolton's/Freys were. It matters little to him anyway. Only Roose and Walder know of Tywin's secret arrangements of the Red Wedding and they get all the blame for violating guest right and betraying their King. The perfect proxy for a schemer like Tywin.
Tywin wanted ONLY Robb to die, "an arrow to the gut". It was LOTHAR (not even Walder!) who organized the massacre
alekzander2010 Yes exactly. Some people seems to Believe that a scheme like the red wedding was all on Walder when infact Walder Roose and Tywin only cared for Robbs Death. They intended to keep Cat hostage I Think but killed her because she killed his wife (or in the book his grandson??)
I think they killed her because she became crazy after Robb died, and she killed Walder's grandson. At least someone said: "Finish her", when she started laughing histerically.
No, his whole army died..
This was cruel even by Game of Thrones standards.
@John Hexagon killed yes but they didn't desecrate their bodies by cutting off their head and putting a wolf head on instead
Remember that one newborn baby that got eaten alive by Ramsay’s dogs. Those were good times
@@rickalicious1116 only time I didn't get sick despite of a baby being eaten alive. at the end of the day, that Baby is still a Bolton and a Frey.
Then the death of Stannis's daughter happened and season 8 to top it off.
@@AnshumanKumar007 Shhh, we don't talk about Season 8 here!
This is what Tywin Lannister calls "killing a dozen men at dinner".
The Starks are devasted by the Freys
Just a couple hundred dozen
@@ЯворГанев-е1в This is my point. Tywin calls it "killing a dozen men at dinner". He says it's more honorable (or was it noble?) to kill a dozen men at dinner than to kill thousands at war. What Tywin doesn't know (or pretends not to know) is that the Frey's mutilate and desecrate Robb and Catelyn's corpses. They also kill thousands of Northern Forces in the process. And not to mention, they completely ignore guest right, which is dishonorable as hell in the first place. It would be more honorable to kill thousands at war because it's mutual. Many men consided death in combat to be a worthy and noble death. They wouldn't want to be slaughtered at a wedding. That's why I hate Tywin's argument about what is more honorable. "Killing" twelve men at dinner is not more noble than killing thousands at war.
@@colinclayton8042 He doesn't care. It's irrelevant. What matters is that they win.
@@praetor9822 they win? No, they get a bunch of lowlife oathbreakers to murder their king for more power, just for all involved to be killed in dishonourable ways themselves. Tywin dies taking a shit (killed by his own son), Frey has his throat cut during dinner, and rose Bolton is stabbed in the heart by his own son. You call that winning? By the end of season 8, the starks rule the world. That’s winning.
Killing Robb, Talisa, and Catelyn the way they did was one thing; murdering Grey Wind and sticking his head on Robb's body was crossing the line.
Also, since Talisa was pregnant.
Even the Hound looked horrified at what he was seeing. Shit was very seriously fucked up, for sure.
What about murdering thousands of Tully and stark soldiers?
@xSmoker lefties doesn care shit yo😂😂

This is by far the most cruel thing I've ever seen on tv. Because Seeing my favorite character ( Robb ) dying was one thing, but seeing his head less body with greywinds head on it was just so unbearable. I've never been sadder for a characters death than Robb Stark. And this was just too much for me.
Robb is my favorite character too
+Michael Voorhees in the novel it suppose to be as final humiliation to his memory?
I thought that too until I saw the season 5 premiere of Sons of Anarchy.
that sons of anarchy show is good but no were close to game of thrones level
I was talking about the most cruel thing seen on tv, not about which show was better.
I think what made this scene worse for me was the fact that Arya, who has already seen more than enough bloodshed and suffered enough loss, was present and awake to see what they did to her brother's corpse.
I haven't gotten that far in the books. So, as someone who has only seen the show, seeing Robb's body with his wolf's dismembered head was pretty horrific.
Nothing about the loyal soldiers who followed Robb?
@@BostonBruinsOWN They were killed which was horrible too. But it was the Starks they really wanted to humiliate
@Anacolda Snake She def saw the direwolf on it so I think that told everything
@tritinum throwing her body into the river was insult to the Tullys, not the Starks
BEAUTIFUL scene. It just makes the red wedding feel even more devastating. The only thing worse than seeing your protagonists ruthlessly slaughtered is seeing their bodies desecrated and mocked. I think this scene makes the red wedding that much more pivotal.
Yes
There's almost a romanticization happening in the Red Wedding scene. The music, the speeches, the drama all feels very cinematic. This is just cold, gritty and horrifying.
Guess this is what happens when the bad guys actually win.
I don’t think that beautiful is the right word to describe THIS scene.
Cinematic, impactful, dramatic, haunting perhaps….but the only thing that could qualify as beautiful is the shot of Roose looking down at the destruction.

Is it any wonder that this fucked up Arya so much she made a pie out of Walder Frey's sons?
I still think she went easy on him. Meryn Trant got a far more brutal death than Frey and all he did was kill someone that she was fond of but in no way related to.
She wouldnt know
You mean wyman manderly
Yes, waking up from a nap and seeing your brother (whom you journeyed miles and miles during a war to find) dead and his corpse desecrated while men cheer...of course she is fucked up. In her position, I wouldn't have just served Walder Frey the pies, I would have made him EAT THEM as well. (Yes I am a psychopath)
Not really, she served him a pie dish baked with his sons' dead bodies , and then cut his throat and pulled it back to drain it , that's still pretty brutal both mentally and physically.
I remember watching this when the episode first came out. I was just trying to comprehend Robb's and Cat's and everyone's death, and they come up with this scene... the moment I saw the wolf head spiked on Robb's headless body I closed the browser and was looking at my default screen for a good ten minutes trying to hold my rage and sadness... I was completely shattered for more than a week.
aris theoh Yeah I stopped watching and refused to watch the show again. Only now have I started watching series 5 if only to see the remaining Starks get some sort of vengeance.

That look on Arya's face...
And later on her hysterical laugh when she finds out her Aunt Lysa is dead, that poor girl has been through so much, I hope she becomes an awesome assassin and slaughters everyone on her list
Angel36930 If not that, then at least have her meet someone who can giver her some form of comfort after all the horrors she's seen...although by this point I think the psychological damage is irreversible...poor Arya :(
James Blacker Sadly the only family left is Jon Snow who can remotely come close to comfort her, they had a great bro-sis relationship, but he's on his own mission. Sansa nvr was on good terms with her, Bran is in his own lala land and everyone else, dead. I just hope she channels her anger and energy to become an awesome fighter, its about time the good guys get some points in this wicked game
Angel36930 Fair enough. It just makes me said to see the effect the war has had on Arya and twisted her. Like that scene at the end of season 4, when she refuses to kill the Hound. Great job by Maisie Williams there-that look of complete apathy was terrifying, but I couldn't help but be saddened at how the Arya Stark from season 1 was gone...I know George R.R. What I’ve always loved (because of how upsetting it is) about this horrible moment is the sadistic glee in the Freys. Petty men massacring Northmen and Riverlords who looked down on them. No mercy, no thinking about hostages or basic decency.
Just slaughter. Making a game out of murdering unarmed allies. It’s unbearable to watch but carries a whiff of how pathetic the Freys really are.

At 0:23 is that a stark soldier burning a bolton tent, and then shield slamming a frey soldier afterwrards? What a badass!
Ironic that the only time we see a northern soldier being badass is the scene where they're all being slaughtered apparently.
I rewatched it a few times, couldn't clearly see who the tent belonged to. Are you sure it was a Stark soldier burning a Bolton tent? In the midst of the massacre, it seems to be a better idea to attack the enemies or escape instead of setting fire to a tent.
Vash Stampede it’s unmistakably a Stark Soldier, but whether or not he’s burning a Bolton tent seems unlikely compared to the possibility that he’s just tossing away the torch anywhere since everything is on fire anyway.

Watching the Red Wedding and this scene almost makes me cry every time. Who honestly didn't want the Starks to win? I mean I know there are people out there who like to act like they're edgy because they don't want the stereotypical honorable hero to win but honestly, watching a son start a war to avenge his father only to have his pregnant wife and mother along with himself murdered at a sacred wedding? Who watches this and is like "yeah, I'm glad this happened because I'm edgy." Fuck the Boltons, fuck the Freys. Rickon will grow up to be a great warrior. Maybe the next King in the North. Bran... Well who knows what the fuck Bran is doing.

جون سلونجسون Ummm... A fuckton of Game of Thrones fans?
Stannis is the true king of Westeros! The Starks stole the northern half of his kingdom, they deserved no better.
That scene seeing him decapitated and paraded around with his wolf’s head was more horrifying to me than the actual murder what a shameful way to end. Mutilated and defiled. Symbolism in the books too considering he actually died twice once at the wedding then again when he warged into his wolf. So kinda fitting the head sown on his body. Two gruesome deaths within minutes
Remember what ameon said "love is the death of duty" Robb forgot his duty and paid for it heavily

We are sure they did it even if we weren't there to witness. This says a lot about us, we know we're capable to do this, and that's what's so disturbing.
True.
That shit was Crrraaaazzzzyyyyy .... The cruelest scene in TV history ...
Everyone is crying about the death of Robb and the wolf, but no one is mourning the death of ordinary soldiers in the rest camp who were loyal to Robb and died with him
I like how people are like "F--- Robb man!! He broke his word!". Dude, all Frey had to do was to mail him a letter saying "Robb, kindly fuck yourself" and sit quietly inside his impregnable fortress. That or just fucking poison Robb(the person taking over after Robb would probably bend the knee), if he didn't want to get his hands dirty.
Instead he invited them into his castle under Guest Right and then slaughtered them like pigs essentially. "He had no choice!" you might say, but what safety guarantee do other houses have, that they too won't get slaughtered in a strangers castle? Guest Right has been broken and safety can now no longer be considered. I imagine this will have an impact on the Frey's trading scheme, as I don't think other houses will trust them anymore.
Seeing Rob's body with Greywind's head was both heartbreaking and horrifying
Ned Stark execution and his men all slaughtered.
The red wedding where majority of stark forces were all killed by Boltons, Freys and LANNISTERS.

In my opinion, it is the most realistic, fantastic and shocking scene of the series. It is realistic because Mankind is the most savage creature. 12 Lords died that night, not just Starks and Tullys. The North will remember what happened to their Lords. So will the Riverlands!
Blackwoods, Starks, Umbers, Norreys, Flints, Mormonts, Vances, Manderlys and Lockes. The laws of hospitality was broken!
War of the five kings are still going on. Stannis the Mannis is still one the case! :) Don't forget the Greyjoy brothers. ^^
Bjorn lol Euron and Victarion don’t give a fuck
This scene felt so personal for the audience. It hurts more than seeing them all murdered. It’s like the creators literally took a piss down the back of our throats. As it’s not just mocking Rob but all the people that followed him. Great how this show could make you feel emotion at such a high level.
In the books when I first read that they did that to Robb's and Grey wind's corpse along with stripping Catelyn naked to throw her in the river, disrespecting Tully's funeral rytes, I really thought this was just a rumor spread to make things seem worse than they are.
Reading then a few chapters after that they really did it filled me with so much disgust and hatred. Why did they deserve such treatment? For just not marrying one of his 150 daughters? Plus Walder Frey didn't ask to marry one right before Robb left to war, just so he could back out of it in case Robb didn't win, typical coward move very fitting to the Freys.
I'd say this disrespect of someone's corpse would be somewhat fitting to a monster like the mountain, and even then, I'd feel like it's unnecessary violence. The Freys really are the most worthless scumbag of Westeros, I hope they die gruesomely in the books but, knowing the author, they'll just die by the hand of someone else, robbing us of a satisfying revenge.
@@TheRedKing- well the evidence is Walder Frey being Walder Frey. Either way, the disrespect of Robb, Catelyn and most northerners corpses is not earned in my opinion and just shows how petty these guys are, along with breaking one of the most sacred "oaths" in the seven kingdoms, it goes way beyond breaking a marriage oath.
The more reason to HATE House Frey amd House Bolton!
And Lanisters too
@@luh5821 i won't hate Tyrion.... i like that half man....
@@syukrinasir3774 yes, you are right… I like Tyrion and Jaime too
@@luh5821 to think it back, Jaime also was not an assh**e!
This redeems how crazy arya has become lol I fucking get it now.
Imagine that hatred etched at the heart of Arya witnessing her father and brother beheaded.
I'm so glad she got her revenge in the end.
Anya's face kills me every time, there is just something so broken in that expression, so raw, like everything good is tore apart because that's her big brother who's dead, her smiling big brother who she loves and who loves her back - Maisie deserves an award for that scene alone, that kind of sadness is not something one recovers easily from
loved the music while bolton was walking up these stairs. And the massacre was well played.
This is the worst thing to watch as a stark loyalist. Robb and catelyn were idiots but i always loved the stark army because they were so badass in battle and had WON every battle. To see them killed in such revenge porn is still traumatising.
I agree when the hound is terrified that's when you know it is messed up.... The North Remembers
Always loved the quick thinking of the Hound to grab a House Frey banner and hold it so no one would attack him.
Part of what makes the red wedding so horrible. Not just the betrayal but the sheer humiliation.
All this talk about Robbwind, but good lord is it awful to watch all those Stark bannermen being slaughtered so cruelly.
Let’s be honest! This scene made you really really hate the Lannister’s.
I know Robb’s headless corpse with Grey Wind’s head attached being paraded around is disturbing, but what is more disturbing to me is seeing Robb’s army being slaughtered. Just breaks my heart.
1:22 The fact that Arya is hugging Sandor even tho she despises him is so fucking sad!
Theres something specially medieval and wicked about that mockery on Robbs desacrated corpse. Like, you know...something an Inquisition or some brutal feudal lord would have done in those times.
I remember reading what they did to Robb in the books in a Tyrion chapter and I just thought to myself holy shit. Just the mere thought of having his dire wolfs head sewn onto his body affected me more than the red wedding itself. And I applaud the show for including that brutal moment and pushing it over the edge and spicing it up by making arya actually witness it! I rarely like changes but making arya see greyrobb starkwind was sickeningly great add-in. George not only killed Robb but totally decimated the character and degraded him even after death. Sick bastard lol
I was shaking with rage the first time I saw this
Robb Starks fate was sealed the moment he met that women
Least eventful Dothraki wedding
Thanks to S06E09, this massacre has been avenged
Not completely. Walder Frey needs to die as well.
+MaximumKarnage Walder Frey is poor and carries no allied houses. Tywin is dead and Jaime is essentially Tommen's bitch now. Robb's death is pretty much avenged.
***** Well, Arya will still go after him. He is on her list, after all.
***** Also, remember, his backup, House Bolton, is no more. Some characters still hold animosity towards him.
***** Yeah Arya will may eventually kill him, but when it comes to the fall of Ned and Robb has been avenged in this season. Even King's Landing is severely weakened due to Tywin's death. And Dany(the person Ned wanted to protect and drove Robert to depression when Ned's protested against her slaying) has the most powerful army in the world currently.
Arya had to watch robb, sansa had to Watch ned, jonh had to watch rickon brutally die in front of them.. 😢
The saddest thing is.... Arya finnaly met Robb, but he was dead....
*Hound:* Wow, and I thought I was messed up.
Look how they massacred my boy :(
This show is amazingly personal. Poor Arya having to see her big brother beheaded with such a lulid, hurtful chant to boot.
The Freys paid, sure. But not enough.
The north remembers.
House Frey died the night Arya saw that display. Just didn't know it
Robb's wolf's head on his body is probably the most disgusting thing I saw in the series. Sure some might say the flayed Ironborn at Moat Cailin or Oberyn's head being smashed were worse but the fact that we knew Robb for so long and he was a beloved main character, and to see that disgusting crap happen to him made me sick.
imagine if they sowed the head of robb stark on the wolf
when i first saw his scene i almost threw up man what they did to Robb was terrifying.
