WE LOVE TO SEE YOU BACK!!! i love your ranking videos; for a future ranking, could you do a ranking of all of taylor’s solo-written songs? just to prove to the haters she can write her own songs :)
Possible video ideas: - ranking of opening tracks - ranking of tours - ranking of album covers - top 10 Taylor live performances - reworking different tracklists - TS10 predictions Love your videos!!!
I made every album into only 13 songs! It's a fun challenge, especially once you pull from the vault too! I respect but also "Taylor Swift's “Lover” has now surpassed 3.9 billion streams on Spotify. It's her most streamed album on the platform." Even if the singles were whack and the era was not cohesive, Lover is a bop. She's no 1989 or folklore performance-wise, but that's the problem with insane success - it makes almost everything else look like a flop. Even when it's still miles ahead of everyone else. I absolutely love my 13 track version of Lover.
Your videos are always so entertaining. And BTW love your podcast evolution of a snake, I am not a podcast person, they get boring, but yours is so much fun. It feels like talking with friends ❤️
My album ranking: 9: Lover (favourite song, Lover) 8: reputation (favourite song, Getaway Car) 7: Taylor Swift [Debut] (favourite song, Should've Said No) 6: evermore (favourite song, evermore) 5: Fearless (favourite song, Love Story) 4: folklore (favourite song: betty) 3: 1989 (favourite song: Out of the Woods) 2: Red (favourite song: Red and State of Grace) 1: Speak Now (favourite song: Enchanted)
your ideas for videos never fail to entertain me omg... also! i am on my knees begging for a new episode for the evolution of a snake podcast; no joke, i have listened to all of the episodes three times now
i am literally a debut stan haha it's #3 on my ranking with folklore and evermore being my top 2. debut is one of my most listened to albums. also JUSTICE FOR LOVER.
I’m so happy you posted!! Tbh I was a bit surprised by this ranking, in a good way though. I was SO HAPPY to see speak now in 2nd, I thought you might put it in like 5th, I just wasn’t sure. Our rankings are very similar, I’m glad. Thank you for giving us this video:) This is my ranking (as of this current day) 1. Speak Now 2. Red 3. 1989 4. Folklore 5. Fearless 6. Evermore 7. Reputation 8. Lover
This deserves WAY MORE HYPE I absolutely enjoyed this, rep is not my favorite either but I thought it had less hits for me compared to lover. LOVED THE VIDEO OMG BTW.
no because im swear im not lying debut is in my top 3 and the reason is because its the most relatable for me and i think people are really gonna appreciate it much more once she re records it

@@theswiftologist Yes, folklore is objectively her best album. I’m taking into account not just the album itself, but the *way* it was released. The surprise drop, the fact that she released music in the middle of 2020, when everyone was still reeling from the pandemic (less than a year after her previous album), the long pond session, the 2021 Grammy’s performance. The way that no one can listen to folklore and honestly still believe she’s not a serious artist. The record breaking 3rd AOTY Grammy. The way it felt like she had finally returned to making the music that she really wanted to make. As a body of work, it’s a career highlight, but taking the context around the release into account, it’s a legacy cementing, cultural reset, surpassing that of Red, 1989 and Reputation. *reveals lover in the bottom spot* Me: okay, I can live with this *reveals reputation next* Me: makes sense, next *reveals fearless* Me: wow, finally some good opinions *reveals folklore* Me: IMMA GO ALL LIMA HEIGHTS-
Suggestion for a video: rank albums based on the first five tracks (fearless-white horse, mine-dear John etc.) only using those five tracks as though they were the only songs on the album, not looking at any other songs on said album.
THANK YOU! This feels like such a fresh and new ranking video; most rankings are just with folklore on top (not a bad thing) and all her earlier albums lower down, so seeing THE swiftologist put my top 3 just makes me so happy! Edit: yes, I am watching this in 2024 😅
What about a video speculating what a music video could have looked like for one song from each of her albums that never got one? Like say, Speak Now / Enchanted or Holy Ground or Getaway car etc
Maybe (?) unpopular opinion: I think 1989 is more closely connected to reputation than it is to red, and reputation is more linked to 1989 than it is to lover (mainly stylistically)
I have plenty of issues with Lover--it's cheesy, it's disorganized, it's too long, its politics are shallow--but I'm so shocked that you found it inauthentic! Every song on that album, from Me! and London Boy to Paper Rings and SYGB does feel to me like it's exploring some form of love in a quintessentially Taylor way. I do think IFTYE and YNTCD are weaker moments on the album and weaker songs (in my very subjective emotional gay experience) than even a lot of her early work, but I can see how they were attempts to manage her image and reroute her career--from the snake to the butterfly. It honestly reminds me a lot of Red (though I do really prefer Red's worst songs to Lover's worst songs.) Loved this video though I clearly emphatically disagree with all your rankings lol, your opinions were really interesting and well-expressed!

You have very valid reasons for why the albums are where they are. You don't just bash them. I actually can fathem your reasoning even though I love them all😊
Totally about folklore!! Whenever i get into it a lot I stay in tune with folklore for a week or two and then I stop listening to it for good for awhile
okay mine are 9) Fearless TV 8) Debut 7)speak now 6)Lover 5) Red TV 4) 1989 3)evermore 2)Reputation 1)folklore yk shes a good artist when your least favorite album from her is so iconic and incredible.
It would need someone else to help you set it up, but I think it would be fun if you tried to guess which song charted higher between two; Some are absolutely crazy. You also could do a reaction to the 6 Taylor swift mega fans try and find the secret hater video on UA-cam. It is pretty fun and you could answer all the questions they ask each other and guess every time they do. Lastly I'd love a video on her unreleased songs, it's hard to figure out which ones are actually worth checking out as most sources basically just say they are all incredible, even tho that is blatantly false.
I don't rank them by best I rank them by favorite. 10. Lover 9. Debut 8. Speak Now 7. Reputation 6. Fearless 5. Midnights 4. Evermore 3. Red 2. Folklore 1. 1989
Reputation was my first album I had of hers. It was a gift from my husband. I played it non stop. I became a full fledge swiftie on red TV. Now I’m love everything of hers EXCEPT Lover! Can’t stand lover. That’s just my opinion but no shade. She has something for everyone!
yeah...so this one is gonna be controversial. 10th - debut (2006) like you said, its the hardest to rank. 9th - reputation (2017) songs like lwymmd, ...ready for it, end game, so it goes..., REALLY downplay this album. not to mention the production is either a hit or miss. 8th - evermore (2021) never listened to it, so i cant really rank it. 7th - folklore (2020) LOVE this album, but Taylor has done better. 6th - fearless (2008, taylor's version 2021) i think besides songs like hey stephen and your not sorry, this album is pretty good, but it feels a little outdated. 5th - lover (2019) this album is overhated, and FOR WHAT? i think if you put it's nice to have a friend on folklore, remove ME! and you need to calm down, then this would be more appreciated. 4th - midnights (2022) this album is like a mix of her previous albums. if lover, reputation, and folklore had a baby, then this album would be that baby. 3rd - speak now (2010) songs like enchanted, mean, mine, sparks fly, the story of us, better than revenge, haunted, dear john are what carry this album so MUCH! a BIG step up from fearless. 2nd - red (2012) i think this album transcends more into her pop facade. we got songs like 22, wanegbt, red, starlight, the very first night, babe, message in a bottle, the lucky one, holy ground. AND THIS ALBUM HAS OF THE BEST SONGS IN HER DISCOGRAPHY: ALL TOO WELL. 1st - 1989 (2014) you saw this coming. 1989 is the best example of pop perfection. songs like i wish you would, out of the woods, clean, blank space, shake it off, bad blood, how you get the girl, new romantics, wonderland, style. basically all of the songs are good. and even the bonus tracks are amazing, tho i do think new romantics should've been a single hands down. i think this album is one of the best in her discography, and one of the best pop albums of 2010's. this album showcases taylor's talents the most effectively (imo), and the production SLAPS on this album. so if blackout is britney spears' magnum opus, 1989 is taylor swift's magnum opus.
1) Reputation 2) 1989 3) Speak Now 4) Red 5) Evermore 6) Folklore 7) Lover 8) Midnights 9) Fearless 10) Taylor Swift Just to say i love all her songs and albums as much but this is my ranking!!!! So hard to do tho
this is my current ranking : 1- folklore [ fav songs : the 1, the last great american dynasty, the lakes ] 2- evermore [ fav songs : long story short, gold rush ] 3- speak now [ fav songs : enchanted, back to december ] 4- red [ fav songs : nothing new, forever winter ] 5- 1989 [ fav songs : new romantics, wildest dream ] 6- reputation [ fav songs : i did something bad, dress ] 7- fearless [ fav songs : forever & always, breath ] 8- lover [ fav songs : cruel summer, false god ] 9- self-titled (debut) [ fav songs : teardrops of my guitar, the outside ]
Video idea: all the legal considerations and obstacles Tay's team has to go through to produce and release the rerecords, especially given the recent SN trademark news
my ranking it’s controversial (bottom to top): 1989 (it just feels the most generic and held back), fearless (it wasn’t as good as debut and was like produced worse), debut (she’s better than fearless i said what i said), lover (cut 3 songs and it’s a masterpiece), RED (the messiness of the tracklist is a pro to some but a con to me), folklore (idk why but it’s loss a little bit of it shine, to ME), reputation (i just love this sound on her), speak now (storytelling feast), evermore (everything i wanted from folklore)
*ranks lover at bottom* bye I admit this album has its lowest of lows but the highs are extremely high tier like Cornelia Street, Cruel Summer, Daylight, Afterglow etc.
Thank you for saying rep isn’t her best cause it honestly isn’t!!! I hate these new 14yo swifties who keep saying rep is her best album, excuse me have we listened to the same album?? Also new swifties need to let go of the “karma” album IT’LL NEVER HAPPEN!
i completely agree with your stance on rep. i love the theme and it did what needed to do, but from a song standpoint only, all the songs are good but none of them stand out to me
Ya'll are gonna come for me when u see my ranking 😂 : 1. Lover 2. reputation 3. 1989 4. Folklore 5. Midnights 6. Speak now 7. Red 8. Evermore 9. Fearless 10. Taylor swift
The way our opinions are so different xD Reputation is my favourite album with it, in my opinion, being timeless and still feeling very modern, and it's the most iconic comback I have seen. Red is one of my last in the ranking; it has a lot of songs which don't really feel like their own, to me it feels like a lot of the red songs have a lack of their own personality.
I’m so sorry but there is simply no way to rank all of her albums. Like no matter what you do it will be illening. No matter which album you put at the bottom, i will object. And no matter which album will be at the top, I will object. Because every album of hers is her best album and i will not accept anything else. I respect your courage to do this but i think i suffered irreparable brain damage from the offense i have taken in this video.
I would put Lover last also. It has some of her best songs but also some of the worst. Just too many skips. But Reputation is a favorite along with Speak Now, Evemore and Folklore.
After watching a ton of videos of Tay, you got in my recommended and I gotta say, you seem pretty cool! Also, I guess you could say that spot in your room is a "blank space", am I right?
I loved the video! I agree with the majority of your ranking, but I would personally switch folklore and evermore. I only say this because on Evermore there are a lot songs that I always skip. Can't wait for the next video!
I can’t find your video where you critique Lover. Can you link it? I love Lover. I rank it at number 3 (tied with Reputation) so I’m definitely interested in hearing your thoughts.
Also I’m sorry but why have I never seen those photos you have for 1989 + Rep before?! I’ve been a huge fan of TS since day one, like…since I was 14 years old. I’m not as online as a lot of her fan base…which may be why I miss things sometimes haha.
Ooh I’m only 3 minutes in & I already disagree! But I might change my mind…we’ll see. Personally, I think that the vibe of the Lover Era; the visuals/aesthetics/fashion/photos and the fact that it got cut short by the illness that shall not be named…makes up for its lack of impactful storytelling and general forget-ability lol Now I’m 8 minutes in & I think I’m actually back on track, hahaha I have your whole bottom row revealed now, and I have to admit…I think I actually do agree with you. One thing I absolutely do agree with is that lover and reputation are sister albums. I’ve always felt that way too. I’d also put evermore above folklore, as you did…but I feel like that’s kind of a hot take lol.
I thought 1989 was closer to Reputation and Fearless cause it gives out a similar, immature and nonrealistic approach with her 89 era. All 3 took RISKS but they seem like 3 of Taylor's demons showing in those albums. Her mistakes and burdens, her young, fairytale life, and then the popular girl whose perfect. Those align perfectly before Folklore could relate
Him: Scrunches Lover
Lover: I’m a crumpled piece of paper lying here🥲
bahahahahahahhaahah LOL
Possible video idea: which song(s) on each album could have fit on another album? Where would they fit into the track list?
Rep is my favorite album, and I admit that it’s partially because of where I was when it came out, and also because it’s the album where I rediscovered Taylor, since I missed Red and 1989. Didn’t know anything about the drama/narrative of that time, but I loved how the album was angry and scathing but also vulnerable.
Love the video and you; no real qualms about Rep’s place at the bottom. Just adding to the algorithm and spreading some love for the OG black and white album.
Love your channel but-

FOLKLORE IS HER BEST ALBUM! 😭😭😭
If you need vid ideas: I’d love a top 20(ish) red carpet looks video!
I DONT KNOW IF THERE CAN EVEN BE 20....
@@theswiftologist I CACKLED
HE DID NOT JUST PUT MY BABY LOVER AT LAST😨
*ranks lover at bottom* bye
I admit this album has its lowest of lows but the highs are extremely high tier like Cornelia Street, Cruel Summer, Daylight, Afterglow etc.
byyyyeeee daylight is not a high
Daylight is one of my favs
Red is the best album, periodt. Totally agree with your ranking, except on certain days i keep 1989 higher than speak now
I gasped out loud when I saw where you put folklore 🤭
Why the smile on the reputation image look like one of those ME! meme?
Thank you for saying rep isn’t her best cause it honestly isn’t!!! I hate these new 14yo swifties who keep saying rep is her best album, excuse me have we listened to the same album?? Also new swifties need to let go of the “karma” album IT’LL NEVER HAPPEN!
The premisse alone made me chuckle 😂😂
I loved this video!
Keep up with the good work!♥️♥️♥️
thank you
i completely agree with your stance on rep. i love the theme and it did what needed to do, but from a song standpoint only, all the songs are good but none of them stand out to me
that shirt is fabulous
It's my prized possession

The way our opinions are so different xD
Reputation is my favourite album with it, in my opinion, being timeless and still feeling very modern, and it's the most iconic comback I have seen.
Red is one of my last in the ranking; it has a lot of songs which don't really feel like their own, to me it feels like a lot of the red songs have a lack of their own personality.
xD
I’m so sorry but there is simply no way to rank all of her albums. Like no matter what you do it will be illening. No matter which album you put at the bottom, i will object. And no matter which album will be at the top, I will object. Because every album of hers is her best album and i will not accept anything else. I respect your courage to do this but i think i suffered irreparable brain damage from the offense i have taken in this video.
I would put Lover last also. It has some of her best songs but also some of the worst. Just too many skips. But Reputation is a favorite along with Speak Now, Evemore and Folklore.
agreed !!
I doubt you’re not taking any requests atm, but I’d love it if you ranked every single
please do this again with midnights
Will you do this video updated after we’ve had Midnights??? All tho, I think I have an idea and especially where reputation will be placed haha
This is almost my exact ranking , for me I’d flip 1989 and folklore but , outside of that that’s pretty much my ranking
Red has SO many skips 😭💀💀
aparently, we arent listening to the sqme album
Nope. None of her albums have skips
Debut is one of my favorites
After watching a ton of videos of Tay, you got in my recommended and I gotta say, you seem pretty cool! Also, I guess you could say that spot in your room is a "blank space", am I right?
thanks for watching
I loved the video! I agree with the majority of your ranking, but I would personally switch folklore and evermore. I only say this because on Evermore there are a lot songs that I always skip. Can't wait for the next video!
totally see why, tbh they are kind of interchangeable to me. one half of the same coin
I can’t find your video where you critique Lover. Can you link it? I love Lover. I rank it at number 3 (tied with Reputation) so I’m definitely interested in hearing your thoughts.
Would you ever remake this video with an updated albums ranking (especially with midnights out now)? Or is your ranking pretty much the same?
Has the ranking changed since Midnights + Speak Now and 1989 TV have been released ?
my ranking!!! 10 albums
10: rep
9: lover
8: fearless
7: speak now
6: evermore
5: midnights
4: 1989
3: debut
2: fokklore
1: REEED ❤❤
i was wrong.
Rep on the bottom is criminal but very Abby Lee of you, so fitting.
Also I’m sorry but why have I never seen those photos you have for 1989 + Rep before?!
I’ve been a huge fan of TS since day one, like…since I was 14 years old. I’m not as online as a lot of her fan base…which may be why I miss things sometimes haha.
This is all I never knew I needed
ur welcome
Do I recall that you, at one time, were asking about Wonderstruck perfume? I found a new sealed set.
WHERE....WHERE DID YOU FIND IT....
Can you do a video of ranking Lana del rey's albums?
yeeessss
Ooh I’m only 3 minutes in & I already disagree! But I might change my mind…we’ll see. Personally, I think that the vibe of the Lover Era; the visuals/aesthetics/fashion/photos and the fact that it got cut short by the illness that shall not be named…makes up for its lack of impactful storytelling and general forget-ability lol
Now I’m 8 minutes in & I think I’m actually back on track, hahaha I have your whole bottom row revealed now, and I have to admit…I think I actually do agree with you.
Those align perfectly before Folklore could relate
where's debut??
watch the video !!
I didn't realize there was only 8 spots so i totally thought you were going to out debut near the top lmao
