- VenturianTale - 4 siblings (Jordan Frye, Isaac Frye, Cierra Frye & Bethany Frye) with basic content creation knowledge begin a UA-cam channel, only to find life changing success shortly after its inception. Only 4 months after creating the channel, they were receiving 20 million views per month, 2 months after that, they were receiving 60 million views per month, then 1.5 years later, they were receiving 80 million views per month. While at their peak, a drop in viewership wouldn't have been predicted by even the most pessimistic of fans. However, after hitting their peak of 80 million views in February 2015, the channel would go into freefall, losing viewership for 5 years straight, ending up as a dead channel, with an inability to crack 2 million views per month in recent times. What could have possibly gone wrong? Was the downfall of VenturianTale owed to a loss in confidence? A refusal to make any changes to their content over their entire journey on UA-cam? Or was it simply the fact that as each sibling got older, they had to move on from UA-cam to accommodate for the realities of life?

The channel died for two reasons:
- They didn't change their content much.
- Their fans grew up. That's why you see a lot of "they made my childhood" comments.

When you get kids watching your content you need to understand 1 of 2 things needs to happen, you either need to constantly keep up with what the "new" kids like, you need to be in the mind set that your audience is always growing up then leaving you so you need to be replacing them with new groups that will then also be replaced.
If you start UA-cam young and get a young audience either have the energy to always keep up with the "young base" or grow up with your base audience and make your content keep them entertained as they grow with you.

This is very personal for me, as Venturian is the reason I know about GMod to begin with, and really the Half-Life series and Steam as a whole. The only computer games I played before then were Minecraft when the horse was a recent mob, (although I didn't have that version because I also only had the demo version which was somehow permanent?). I really can't imagine a life without playing and knowing the games I own and play now, as well as the enjoyment I had with all his videos. I'm probably a minority, but I NEVER got tired of anything he uploaded, and while there were other videos I liked more than others, (like the Spiderman and batman npc mods, along with the bike s-cars mod, regular show ragdoll video and the Fnaf stuff, and lastly the Papa Achichalla and murder videos), I still enjoyed then (generally) equally. It's really sad to really understand the downfall, but I also really hope he can overcome the limitations he believe he has, (but really ones that he unknowingly placed himself) and actually enjoy doing what he did for a long time. A real fragment of my childhood that I wish can be reborn, I hope one day it happens.. (Sorry for my dumb rant, person who reads this dumb rant).

As a long time viewer and fan of VenturianTale, I did in fact join the fun around I wanna say 2015, and end up almost ghosting from binging the channel completely in August of 2019, this really does help me get the full feel of what happened and why it happened. VenturianTale may not come to my mind a lot, but the once sacred channel will forever be a wonderful memory to my heart and soul. It's said and it's true, all good things must come to an end
Sadly there was alot of dark shit that happened behind the camera. One of the sisters made an hour long video describing everything on how her brothers were really sexist, treated them like shit, sexual assaulted them and alot more

I never really got hooked on them, but I did occasionally tune into their videos and I genuinely enjoyed their personalities and the content they put out. And yet...remembering their name hits me hard in the nostalgic nuts. It has to be that they just remind me of more simpler and enjoyable times

This video’s comment section is Venturiantale now. Jordan no longer records, Bethany makes her own content with Cierra, Isaac’s whereabouts are unknown. People now come here to share their experience, their enjoyment to watch Venturiantale. It may never be the same ever again. I think that this piece of internet history shouldn’t ever be forgotten. Venturiantale was there for so many people in their lives. It hurts to see it end like this. I’ve been commenting on Jordan and Bethany’s channel for a long while now. I’m hoping the channel would come back together. However, it seems like that’ll be extremely hard, looking at the circumstances.
And now Bethany & Cierra don't seem to make videos anymore. I'm honestly concerned by the silence.

After watching the Bethany video words can not describe how my soul has been crushed, I grew up watching them and after hearing what's happened recently I feel really bad about what happened to them as they pretty much shaped my childhood I hope to this day that Cierra and Bethany are doing well for themselves now and in the future as well

@@Brewed.tea. all three siblings pretty much moved on from UA-cam. All four live separately now and are doing what they want to that isn’t focused in UA-cam.
They do return occasionally (Bethany and Issac have at least), but they’ve got their own lives now.

@@cadencampbell5974 yeah, it is hard to watch his content now that I am 8 years older from when I first watched him as a kid. The only content anymore I come back to is me occasionally watching his Skyrim and fallout play-throughs.
It should also be noted that the brothers (Jordan and Issac) disowned their sisters because they had different beliefs. The siblings grew up in a extreme Christian household, where it was like very sexist and bigoted to put it simply. Once they grew up, the sisters had started to question the beliefs and got disowned, and their brothers stated that they would cut off all contact with them because they didn’t have the same beliefs (in which they were raised). Which is really sad because Bethany explains it in a 55 minute video about what happened and you can see how truly heartbreaking it is for her that her brothers easily cut her off and would never talk to her over beliefs even though she said she respected theirs but she just wanted them to respect hers. I just don’t see how Issac and Jordan grew up and seemingly had a close bond with their sisters just to cut them off like that. For me, me and my own siblings have different beliefs in terms of religion and politics even. But I would never disown them for that and they would never do that to me either. I’m just happy that Bethany has her sister and mother throughout it all.

I grew up/currently live in a extremely Christian household. If I was to state my personal beliefs I'd be homeless and disowned so sadly this behavior is more common than really should.

It wasn’t just the brothers but the family in general,they were raised with a really horrible sexist mentality that the females did all the chores and the men did nothing and if you didn’t do what you were told to you were going to hell and you were basically isolated from everyone else,the sisters were able to break away from the toxic family and i hope the brothers are able to do the same.

God I absolutely loved and adored this channel when I was a kid to the point where me and my parents would have inside jokes. I was one of the original 15-30k people that first subscribed to them so I literally grew up with them and their channel and So they hold a place in my heart. I still remember seeing them gain their first million subscribers and was absolutely excited. They made my childhood and it's so sad to see the channel this way

It's so sad that this happened to them. Venturiantale was a big part of my childhood. I guess as I got older and started to watch people like Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, etc I just kind of forgot about Venturiantale. If he had just changed his content a little, he may have still been a titan of UA-cam like he was in 2013.

Yep. I’ve seen a few people saying he would come back, but that’s a very very low chance at this point. And honestly I don’t even think his return would get that much attention so at that point there wouldn’t be much of a point, his channel is dead. And seeing his lack of motivation overtime as the channel grew closer and closer to the last upload, I feel like having to adress everything in his next upload would be hard for him badly. And now that I’m thinking about it writing this comment, I have a feeling he is relieved to stop uploading.

@@_Mink_Byte_ essentially, Bethany made a video explaining how the family were extreme Christians and that the girls upbringing was extremely reclusive and constrictive. While the boys were allowed to do what ordinary kids do, the sisters were basically raised to be housewives who are submissive to male authority. Eventually, Cierra rebelled and they stopped talking to her, which is why she stopped appearing in videos. Eventually Bethany rebelled too and made the video explaining all this. Jordan ended up posting a video which stayed up for about a week saying that he loves his siblings and that he will be suspending the channel indefinitely, which is why there hasn't been a post in over a year

Watched them since 2014. This was a sibling gaming channel that I always wanted to be, playing Minecraft with my three sisters, making people laugh, those stuff. But when I found out what these siblings have actually done to each other just broke my heart and childhood. Even if Flyingpings is cut from her family, she’s not by herself. She has friends and fans. It may not make up for what she lost, but I’m sure that it will be enough to help her move forward
In my opinion, if your family is the kind of family that would disown you, its probably better to be without them anyway.

God, I occasionally read their channel about section, and the last sentence; "hopefully in the end, it'll be a tale worth telling", made me so sad. This feels like it is some type of tragic tale.

That doesn't seem tragic to me, it seems more... Happy to me. Because it's like when you grow up and move on to something else, and you remember the past and think "that was a good time" the Venturian tale didn't have a tragic ending, it was a tale worth telling.

This aged poorly
VenturianTale was one of those channels I found as a young teenager while browsing the internet. I grew to love their content but never really kept up with it as I matured into more age appropriate stuff. Sad to hear about what happen to these fine people.

Such a shame too. VenturianTale was such a wholesome channel, a rarity in UA-cam gaming at the time, and especially a rarity nowadays.
I wholeheartedly agree. Granted I enjoy edgy humor but VenturianTale was the only channel that didn't have such humor that I found myself loving as a kid.
But it did pave the way for people like gray still plays and call me Kevin to slip in our lives

Why did it have to end like this? Why do I feel so guilty for their loss in popularity? They deserved so much more….so much better….but I guess not everyone has a happy ending….and as long as Bethany and Cierra are ok…as well as Issac and Jordan…..maybe….maybe it should end like this, but….I…..WILL NEVER forget them…because their videos will remain in my mind as the perfect memory……so long, gang…

Well, he also has his own entire life now, he has a WIFE which is so fucking cool, I am so proud of him, and I miss the old stuff, his channel is such a nostalgia trip, and it sucks that he didn't change his content up to try and keep up...but I also find it admirable that he stuck to his guns, honestly as long as he is happy with what he does in life then that's more than enough for me and probably a lot of his old and new fans, I'm gonna miss his old content and the siblings being in the vids, but at the end its honestly a good lesson in life...things change...people have lives...and everything will come to an end whether good or bad and that's what keeps me from breaking down every time I hear the name Venturiantale, thanks for coming to my TedTalk.
I'm so glad that the channel died peacefully. No drama, no BAM it's dead, it just was a slowly drawn-out death, a bittersweet end that stings. I've been sitting here crying for 25 minutes reading all these comments, memories flooding back, and to think about how much change has gone on, oof man...

This literally brought back so many memories. This was so nostalgic it actually brought some tears to my eyes, videos that were shown in the beginning I remember watching when I was like 8. This is absolutely crazy and when I randomly remembered Venturiantale I noticed that nothing had been posted since last year and I got curious. I’m sad to see it came to an end… how the greats fall. These guys and gals made my childhood and I’m so grateful to them, I’m sure many people are.

It's sad to see how much VenturianTale changed over the years that I've watched them.
They got me into GMod and other games, and even helped me get other friends into it too.
It's so sad to see their real colors, and honestly, I felt kinda betrayed by them. They were a main part of my childhood and to hear what they did is, personally, disgusting.
I'm feel sorry for Bethany and Cierra, and Jordan and Isaac do deserve their backlash, but it's ultimately was what was put upon by their parents is what caused them to split.
RIP VenturianTale. You will always have a spot in my childhood, but there will always be a stain of resentment with it.

@@vexmythoclast2702 As far as I know, I believe what happened was that they all grew up in a very hyper-Christian household where females were seen as inferior and only existent to serve men, so the entire family would just put all of the responsibilities onto Bethany and Cierra, and this would go on for an number of years until one day, either Cierra or Bethany began to question their family and their actions and was immediately disowned and cut off from the family and when the other asked why it'd happened and they began to disagree with their reasoning the same thing happened.

The beauty of this channel is that they all had fun while playing, they didn’t care about competing and the money. But the main drop is when the siblings broke up and started their own things. There is nothing wrong with them having their own lives, but that is when they hit a steep drop

Growing up watching them and seeing this rocks me to my core . I used to watch these videos day and night I lived for these guys and now looking at how severe things were behind the scenes and things I went thru as well in my life the reality of their beliefs and how it reflects in their content and behaviors also being older you can see the signs that a child wouldn't recognize first glance it's sad but I hope one day atleast these siblings will have peace with eachother and themselves as well.
I never understood unsubscribing to someone's channel due to them not uploading as much content. A subscription costs NOTHING.
Their downfall is almost sad compared to other youtubers. They didn't go out with a bang, they didn't make one final big splash, it was more like a quiet whimper as all the siblings left and everyone forgot about their channel

Update: Bethany Frye recently updated the situation... I really feel saddened by how my childhood heroes had such a horrible upbringing that could haunt them to this day. This went from devastating to a proper form of tragedy. I'm praying for there to be healing for the siblings, especially Bethany and Cierra.
I hope bethany becoming more public about her experiences will be somewhat of a wakeup call to isaac and Jordan, I think at least jordan at the back of his head, realizes he's in the wrong because he has refused to defend his side of the family and disabled all comments.

Yes, however I have seen a lot of people blaming it on Jordan and Isaac. It’s not fully their fault. The parents did this. Jordan and Isaac should have realised that how they were raised was wrong and they should have supported their sisters. Paula Fry (The mother) and the Father of which name I don’t know off should receive most of blame as they encouraged this behavior.

i used to love their content so much. i was like 6 or 7 maybe and watched them until i was around 11? but their content fr made my childhood. in the peak of my fnaf phase i watched all of their fnaf gmod vids and loved them. their papa acachalla vids, cops and robbers, ESPECIALLY the minecraft letsplays. ive rewatched their letsplays a few times because of how much i loved it. but when i think about they didn't ever die out, i just grew up. i still go to rewatch their content sometimes though

I remember my sister and I begging my mom for merch, and so we got shirts for our birthday. It’s been like eight years now, if not longer, and it doesn’t fit anymore, yet I still have it. I see it every once in a while and it brings back a lot of happy memories of being in elementary/middle school and having them to turn to. The Minecraft videos were the first ones I saw, and I watched them grow all the way from a couple thousand subs to over one million. We sent them fanart, it was shown in a video once haha. It’s sad to see the state of the channel today, but I’m thankful for them being there for me for so many years. Now I’m older than they were in their first videos and yet here I am, so crazy. Hope they are all doing well.

I've been a fan of them since I was in like 4th grade (now a 11th grader) and I absolutely loved their videos, the roleplay, creativity, and just randomness! It was absolutely amazing and those videos were always my go to, it's sad to see how youtube itself has brought them down :(

I remember talking about venturiantale everyday on the bus back in elementary with my friends, i used to tell my mom and dad about them, watched them with them, learning everything now breaks my heart and brings alot of pain to me.
Just a small correction, I'm pretty sure all of the siblings have poor immune systems, which makes them able to get sick for multiple weeks, so the whole 2 weeks sick thing is completely possible.

I'm 16 and a junior in high school, and the first video I remember ever watching of theirs was the first Gmod video. I was so enthralled by their entertainment ability, I subbed immediately. I watched their videos (mostly) every day after until about 7th grade, so around 2016-2017. At that point, I still watched them, but I had found other creators that were playing more of the types of games I wanted to watch. I literally grew up with this channel, they influenced my comedy, inspired me to do more skit type comedy, and practically built the gaming and entertainment side of my personality. They were so influential on that part of my childhood and development, I cant thank them enough for getting me into entertainment, gaming, and UA-cam. Seeing all the stats about their decline legitimately has brought me to tears. This powerful, kid-friendly, UA-cam channel is disappearing, and most of the freshman at my high school have never heard of them. I refuse to unsubscribe because I know one day when I have my own kids, I'll introduce them to this channel as their first UA-cam channel. I want them to experience the love and pure entertainment in all of their old videos, I want to introduce them to papa acachalla, I want them to laugh and shed tears with them. I want to show them what a golden era UA-cam was in during the early 2010's.
I hope to pursue history and become a museum curator, and holding on to this specific piece of UA-cam history will show the difference in UA-cam during my kid's lives compared to mine.

Damn, I'm also a 16-year-old junior in high school who stopped watching sometime around the 7th grade. Most of what you said resonates pretty hard. I legitimately think the type of content I enjoy now was heavily influenced by watching their GMod roleplay videos and the Tales series when I was younger, as some of my favorite content creators now have a lot of roleplay or improv-based content.

My idols as a kid, crazy how much has changed. It’s weird because this was the first UA-camr/UA-cam group watched ever. I remember the first video too because I remember asking my mom if I could borrow her phone and discovered them.
I remember sitting in a pillow fort watching them in early 2014 with a bag of Goldfish crackers. They were literally my childhood. It messed me up for a long time learning what happened to them. It's just so sad watching their videos today.

I have never seen a video from them, but in middle school their inside jokes became regular banter on my bus because three of the guys who rode all the way to the end with me and my sister watched them regularly. To reach a person who'd never heard of them and have the name and quotes still in my brain all these years later certainly shows the impact they had.
So sad to see what happened to this family. Bethany was my favorite sibling and I loved the Oblivion series so much. I hope the girls can heal from this

What's sad about Jordan's UA-cam algorithm Rant is that he's actually Right, certain UA-cam channels videos, just don't appear in my Subscription box, despite me being subscribed to them. One example of this is when Markiplier uploaded his newest "The Forest" video, it didn't show up in my Subscription box until I had went to his channel manually, and when I put on Notifications, well that doesn't help much either, because it's inconsistent on when it notifys me on when someone uploadeds a video or not, sometimes it will be 5 to 6 days after a content creator uploads the video or even longer, or sometimes it can be on the other side of the spectrum. One example of this is when I was watching a Video of Emgo building the Eagle Moss Ecto-1 set, UA-cam sent me a Notification that the video was uploaded...as I was watching it. So when you get mad at Jordan for taking his time, just remember that UA-cam likes to take it's sweet time as well. The only other Thing that I can say on the matter is Don't Hate the Player, Hate the Game, and That Game is UA-cam.

I remember, 10 years ago, I was only 6 and I always loved watching his Gmod, Fnaf, and fanmail videos, I used to upload videos on Gmod because of him and I remember all of the characters VenturianTales had like Papa Akachala or something like that. I really miss that.
God I miss those days of watching him and me waiting in anticipation for the next video to come out, venturiantale was amazing but not all things go as planned they were my childhood and I’ll never forget that, even now deep down I wish they kept the same flair they used to have but it was only a matter of time till they hit that one problem that would change them forever and they couldn’t change with it

Honestly, whilst Jordan and Isaac deserve backlash for disowning their sisters, its ultimately their parents that caused this whole situation. They forced religion on their kids.. As a kid, Venturiantale was my absolute favourite UA-cam channel and I loved it. It’s sad to see they’re not playing together anymore and it’s just not the same. Although it’s different now, it was and always will live in my heart as one of the best channels and biggest foundations of UA-cam.

I was about ten when I found them, they practically made my childhood. They made me laugh whenever I felt sad. Being in highschool now when I found them in Elementary, makes me feel nostalgic. Their videos were the epicenter of my happiness, and they never failed to bring my mood up. I'm sad that the channel lost views and people lost interest but, we grew up. We moved on, and that's the sad part.
