It's too big for me. I need a synth I can store in my cheek like a chipmunk.
😅😅😂😂
Would you bury it in the winter?
@@stephenmandelbaum2027 Since I have yet to buy a synth (as they are all too big) I actually HAVE some disposable income to spare! So I moved to a tropical climate where there is no winter season.
You can fit a whole chipmunk in your cheek??
@@DJThermite Chip already in one side, still looking for Dale.
Got mine a week or two ago, wonderful little machine. Excellent for adding weird little percussive fills to a more conventional drum groove.
1:17 there is the cutest tiny smile on the back
I was really hoping I'd be the first to say it!
Great video Bo! We are happy you like it! Vaclav put a lot of efford to make it as playable as possible. Happy noodling!
When will the next batch be available. Seen this video 16 mins ago. Went on the link 🕵️😐😑😪 sold out 🤷♂️
It seems to have been sold out most of the time since its release. I tried to buy one the day they announced it, nope. Got an email that it was back in stock, didn’t get around to checking the website till the next day, it was sold out again. They need to subcontract with Behringer to manufacture these, to keep up with demand 😉
@@mooseyard I can tell that to our CEO but dont think it will work out :D
@@herpsmaltwatta What I can say. A lot of people want it and we are working on it as hard as possible. Best way to get one is to set email notification on our eshop Noise Kitchen
@@patrikveltrusky thank you, too you and everyone at Bastl, for your efforts and your work and for the wonderful instrument(s) y'all so kindly unleash/bestow upon the world.
I recently developed an interest in some small synths... they are pretty fun. This looks like one for the collection. Thanks Bo!
Wonder what you think of behringer's new mini synths.
I’m so impressed with the clever design that allows this thing to produce varied and creative beats, despite being much too small (and cheap) to include any type of sequencer interface.
Another little synth I don't need, but do want 😀
I think this perfectly sums up my feelings on this!
I recently bought myself this little synth and really like to experiment with it. It's really fun! Thank you for your review!
I honestly love how it sounds!
Who trapped aphex twin inside that box?
Also, those tiny patch cables are adorable
interesting little box! I visited their website and saw they offer other tiny devices too. Thanks for the review.
Looks mighty interesting piece of audio, awesome video as usual! :)
Thanks Bo, got mine last week! I like that little ratchet /fill tip! :)
This sounds amazing
reminds me of the JHS (john hornby skews ) clip on analogue drum synth i had for my drumkit in the start of the 1980's... that was £30 back then.
It would have been nice if such tiny machines are designed as both , standalone and eurorack
Love it. Works nice together with the Volca Modular
Pretty damn dope little creation!
I absolutely love my kastle 1.5 and this looks just as fun
I preordered one of these a while ago and am still waiting for it. My collection of little noisemakers patchable with proto board leads grows.
Woot! I just got an email that it shipped. I have a giant room full of synthesizers, groove boxes, and modular gear, and I am excited about a little battery powered thing that costs about 110 US dollars :p
@@thomashoffend4299 sounds like you're quite the collector, what are your recommendations for pieces that are similar to the kastle drum as far as being proto board patchable as well as portable?
How cool! I would pair this up with a Korg Volca modular and few Teenage Engineering Pocket operators and feed to 1010 Music Bluebox for portable fun!
I like the sound of it, did you try it with the eurorack gear? I'd love to hook one up to my modular. I tried a PO14SUB with mine a few days ago, and a Volca keys. Hours of fun!! 👍
I would really enjoy building sample sets with this to use in a daw.
They completely sold out of these about two hours after the intro vid. More coming soon. I need one. Great vid. Thanks man.
Crazy little synth, I think it could add something to my mental music
Could you possibly do a video comparing the opsix to the wave state? I think that would be useful for someone trying to decide which synth to buy.
Looking forwards to the korg modwave and uno synth pro videos too lol!! Great video as usual!!
;)
Finally got to order mine this weekend, can't wait to pair it with the original Kastle and blast off to the sonic outer limits.
the Bastl drum is a tiny beast! really really fun!!
nice little beast of drum machine...
Great video. This is a very cool little box for expo
What you can do with this stuff
Sample it on the po33 for new drumkits
Truly cooooool !
Just arrived ! By teh way, Great video has always BoBeats!
Hi BoBeats, I love the overall quality of your videos! What I don't understand is chapter to connect to ext. gear with clock. In my case I have A-190-3 modul feeded by external sequencer. The Gate output connect to I/O input of the Drum Kastle. Then I have to connect the tiny "I" to CLK in. But nothing happens here. No tempo sync here. Where is the issue?
Wish I could tell whats wrong but I dont know. For me it clocks no problem.
Got mine ordered,,looking forwards to that...slap it through some FX,,,,and sequence it....loadsa fun.
I need the Bastl drum and that blue mixer.
BoBeats this wonderful module reminds me Teenage Enginering Sounds in Pockets :D Somehow
Bo-phex Twin over here 😉
Sounds great with the Subharmonicon I think.
Someone is about to preorder this bad boy
The $6.40 question is, can I patch it into my bastl kastle? I’ve spent countless hours trying to get that thing to do what this thing seems to do.
Nice jumper, where is it from? 👌
Would love to see this in modular form like the original kastle.
Or more micro-modular stuff that can be added to this, imagine a couple small shelves just covered in small devices like this!
The Kastle Drum is the exact same form factor as the original Kastle. I'm pretty sure it's the same hardware, with a different faceplate. You can flash the kastleDrum firmware on the Kastle, the firmware is on Bastl's GitHub page. Note that there is a "Euro Kastle" module from ST Modular, not by Bastl (I have both!).
Yep , thats one for me!
Can this be used with the volca modular via patch bay to patch bay?
I'm torn between the drum and the arp 😅 both are so cool. This video helped though
Could I connect this to my td-3 and control its tempo with it
I have been getting into the tiny synths. Love the size (they are so cute) but they have such a big sound. So unique and can do a lot that big synths can. Cheaper and less space 👌🏼
What are some that you'd recommend? Any that are more under the radar/obscure or from lesser known companies?
Can you use it with headphones?
Makes a great ally to the Volca Modular thanks to using the same weirdo mini patch jacks.
I could have fun with this
Will it sync with volcas
What is the light blue machine connected to it.
Totally love, but don't need...and naturally at the top of my youtube suggestions list.
too tiny too much wires lol..got myself a Volca Drum and im in love with it
Good one!!!!! this B.K.Drums....
What type of drum machine describes you at a person ?
Me: K Drum
I want one. Sadly I live in Brexit Britain so can't find it on sale anywhere within this Plague Island.
:-/ aw
Dino Goldie try @elevatorsound in Bristol -a small independent synth shop -just pre-ordered mine as they have some coming in very soon
elevatorsound.com
Just got mine from gear4music.... pre ordered before Xmas. :) it’s a little beast!
Try Rubadub (based in Scotland)
Dino Goldie - yep not as easy to buy little tiny drum synths in Brexit Britain, but on the plus side if you have any elderly relatives they’re going to be vaccinated well before the poor folk in the EU.
Electro synthesists this ones for you!
Could you sync this with a Korg Volca modular?
I dont know :-)
@Trevor Malcolm yes!
.... so... pulsar 23 or drum kastle... ???...
bobeats 2021!
I really hate that there is no back to where the batteries go. 😒
1:18 Smiley face da best😀
It's cool, but I do already have 2 Kastle's.
Put the firmware of the drum kastle on it...
@@moldythoughts4765 Thought about it, but only one of them is the newer model that can be upgraded... And I ruined the usb port when I built it, so that isnt happening.
I don't even know what to think of it, but I'm glad it exists.
Interesting cross patching with the kastle
Aren't you glad you have that huge studio to review a product smaller than your hand? haha
The irony 😂😂
@@BoBeats You should do a versus video. Kastle vs Pulsar 23.
Foolhardy, you need a tiny drummer, perhaps a gnome of so sort.
Too tiny. I struggle with the Volca Modular- guitar player hands, lol
Finally, a modular for hamsters.
😂😂😂
This is out of stock right now
Yeah Bo, I see what you’re doing. Get people “hooked on “cute” little modular drum machines! Then 6 months later one side of the spare bedroom is totally covered with a modular beast! And you’ve got half-starved kids and a wife looking for a divorce!
😅😅😅
Of course, the problem there is she might want half your synths...
0:25 autechre flep xD
How to be Aphex Twin, Autechre, u-Ziq or Venetian Squares in a small box. (Alternative video title)
Cool but not for me.
it looks and sounds like a toy........
So, this is just like.. a really horrible piece of plastic that makes sounds that remind me of the sounds my ass made after I had fried goat in the Dominican Republic in 1997. Its not a toy, its just a waste of material, energy and time. Why would anyone even consider buying this...? Its actually offensive. Crap product, and as I explained - I mean that in an actual sense.
i did cuckle a bit, it was a 10/10 comment
@@BoBeats :) Thanks for the review, though. Its way better than this thing. Keep it up!
