I feel so bad for Hawks, man. And honestly, something that people don't talk about enough is the Hero Public Safety Commission. Like, they basically did what All for One did with Shigaraki, just on the "hero" side of things. They manipulated an impressionable kid into their care and then turned him into a soldier. It's honestly super freaky.

Hawk's origins are so damn sad, like Lifetime movie sad. But it's part of the reason why I like him so much. It would have been so easy and kind of understandable for him to become hateful and resentful. But instead, he became the opposite in becoming an outstanding hero. Hawks is that dude

It's cool how quirks work and mix. Quirks really are a part of a person and their personality shapes them. They're not just powers. That thing changed everything and hence the name 'Meta ability' was changed to 'Quirks' (By Destro's mom who is called Mother of Quirks).
Hawk's dad had a Wing quirk (Signifying that he wanted to be free and was trapped in their house)
His mom had some sensory quirk with the extra eyeballs (Showing how she was paranoid of her husband leaving her alone. So the extra eyeballs to check up on him and Hawks all time)
These both quirks mixed to make 'Fierce Wings' - Sensory wings
The desire of Hawks to be a hero and save others clearly is seen in his quirk.

Many people may wonder why the title of this episode is called The Hellish Todoroki Family: Part 2 when it's mostly about Hawks. Well, that's because his story is closely tied to the Todoroki family. His introduction, his origin, all of it. He mirrors the Greek myth of Icarus, who flew too close to the sun with his wax wings where he burned up, fell, and died. In this case, the sun could represent Endavor or his son, Dabi/Toya.
Also, the title drop at the end of this episode also happened at the end of the manga chapter when Rei came in, so it was faithfully adapted👍

In addition to Endeavor saving Hawks by arresting his father, in this episode, Hawks comes to realize he and Endeavor are linked in a second way:
they both are being confronted with regrets after trying to erase their past and leave family behind (Hawk’s mom, Endeavor’s son Toya). Now, they have to face their past head on.

Hawks despite being in a bad situation chose good. He had every opportunity to be a villians but he became an incredible hero. We see that All might wasnt the only one to inspire people be heroes. Endeavor inspired someone and Crismon Riot inpired kirishima.
People simply relying on All-Might created this horrible consequence. Heores didn't train as hard excluding some of pro heroes.

@@pratiksanghar7746 Admittedly I actually don't mind the majority of My Hero's story in the ending arc. The other characters still have some worthwhile moments to their arcs imo. I think Endeavor's arc really fell off for me the most mainly because the care he was handled with up until that point functioned as a setup, and the payoff has been pretty bad. It also makes me look on the previous parts of his character more critically ngl.

      @natsuotodoroki Рік тому +1

@@noelighedo4923 I’m really not in the mood to argue right now, so I’ll instead just give you a small rundown of Endeavor’s abuse. You did phrase the first part of this reply as a question after all.
      1) Child Neglect. Before he found out about Touya’s quirk drawbacks, he built him up to be his successor, something that Touya was well aware of. Their relationship, while not inherently bad at the time, was still questionable to say the least since his love was conditional because their relationship was mostly warranted due to training. So when Endeavor stopped training Touya, he basically stopped spending time with him altogether. The only interactions they had afterwards were Endeavor’s bad attempts at getting Touya to stop. Instead of getting Touya the help he needed, he basically left him alone and continued to find a successor.
      2) Physical abuse. He forces Shoto, who basically just stopped being a toddler, to unwillingly train vigorously until he threw up. And when his mom tried to get him to stop, he hit her.
      3) More Child Neglect. Beyond Shoto an Touya, he had two more kids that he immediately discarded when he realized their quirks weren’t what he wanted them to be.

Freakishly long neck aside (what's the deal with that anyway?!), Jeanist is the real MVP. The idea of putting yourself at your enemy's mercy for months is terrifying. The villains could have simply dissected him if they wanted but he trusted Hawks with his life. It's about time we see Wash in action! Tide is turned! As depressing as this season has been, I feel there is a hopeful theme: We are the choices we make. We can't change our past (Dabi, Shigi, Hawks, Endeavor, etc.) but we can choose what to do next. Next episode is great.

Hawk immobilized Twice, when he stabbed him he avoided the vital points, but in Dabi's montage it seems that Hawks murdered Twice in cold blood.
That's not what happens, the explosion generated by Dabi's attack causes Twice to fall into the void. That fall is the one that ends Twice. Hawks only takes the blame for the montage photo.
