I mean, not really. He doesn't have all the information, which is why I suspect Jojo said "to an extent". Because if it turns out the reason the black woman screamed it is because the white woman hurled the N-word out, it lessens the severity when its retaliatory. On the same token, it's inherently wrong to assert that you can't be racist to whites because of a power imbalance. If it's a comment about skintone and intended to put someone down, it's racist. White, black, brown, beige, yellow, red or ninja turtle. *THE END.* That's how *EQUALITY* works.
If you want favouritism, say that. But don't be surprised if you get shut down for it.

What if it's 'to an extent' because he doesn't have all the information, and maybe the black woman is retaliating? I'm not saying that to excuse the behaviour, because racism is racism. But from a perspective of journalistic integrity, if you don't have all the facts of what occurred, best not to talk in absolutes. That's what the mainstream media does, and then never bothers to do a retraction or amend their original statement.

If someone insults me and prefaces it with my race, I respond back with an insult prefaced by race. I don't care anymore. Two can play that game and I'm very much ready for any sort of engagement like this. I'm tired of the double standards. A rude woman (of the demographic we're talking about) got in my mothers face just the other day, saying racist things and making threats; she's lucky I wasn't there because things would have gone very differently for her. Racism is racism, but if the white woman yelled a slur first then I'd say 'to an extent, that black woman was being racist'. Just as I'd say, 'to an extent, that white woman retaliating to a slur is being racist'. Because maybe, just maybe, they're getting down in the dirt and slinging mud with the racist, when normally they don't think that way about people. And to reiterate: *that does not make it okay, it just makes it 'to an extent'.* The same way calling a woman a c*nt after she calls you a name does not mean you're a misogynist.
Not that it should matter, but that's the opinion of an egalitarian white woman. Just like FAFO, if you talk sh*t, be prepared to get it slung right back at you.

Years ago I was going through a McDonald’s drive thru on my very short lunch break, and when I got around to the speaker to place my order I was suddenly blocked in by a car, and there were cars behind me, so I couldn’t get out. A black man jumped out of his car, I’m sure he was in his 40’s, and he stomped over to my window (which was down, obviously) and accused me of trying to run him over. I was so confused, had no idea what he was talking about. I said “man, I’m more than willing to talk to you calmly about this, but if you don’t back off from me RIGHT NOW I’m going to call the police”, which set him off even more. He called me every slur under the sun for white ppl AND women, and I still had no idea what he was talking about. He just kept saying I “almost ran over him”. So the only thing that makes any sense is that, as I was driving around to the back for the drive thru, he could’ve come out the side door, BETWEEN parked cars, and approached from my blind spot. I didn’t see him (and I never saw him, at all). At no point did anyone step out in front of my car, nothing like that, but he was screaming and literally pounding his chest. Funny part was all this was being broadcast to the McDonalds employees via the speaker, and I asked them for help bc he was trying to get my door open at that point. He kept saying “you’re calling the police?? I AM the police”. I’m not sure what he meant by that either, if he was really a cop, and IF I had actually done anything wrong, surely he would’ve behaved quite differently. Anyway, the employees said “sorry, we aren’t allowed to get involved” over the speaker. Then I realized I had left my phone back at work, so I didn’t even have a way to call the police, and the employees refused to do it for me. This man lost it, like completely snapped. I wish I could convey how terrifying it was for a chick, alone in her car, with no one around willing to help, who was being confronted with a lion who, if I’m being completely honest, seemed like he just wanted to kick someone around. I don’t think I did anything wrong, I think HE just wasn’t watching for drive thru traffic, and given the number of racial slurs he threw at me, I think he was so angry bc I was a white woman. Nothing he said made sense otherwise. Like he never gave me details that made me say “oh, so thats what happened”, nothing. It was just uncontrolled raging. It was the out of control thing that scared me, he looked like he wanted to kill me. I’m not one to pull the “woman” card very often, but I think ppl often underestimate how scary that can be for anyone, but especially a woman who would’ve stood no chance in a fight with someone like that. The only reason I avoided it, I think, was bc I locked my doors as soon as his car blocked me in. It was one of the craziest things I’ve experienced bc of another person flipping their shit in my life.

I guarantee you, he was just wanting someone to try and r0b/physically ab,use, and he knew a "white woman" would be the easiest target. There was no situation where you almost ran him over, don't guilt trip yourself over it, you literally did nothing wrong and were just targeted and singled out.
Being "prejudice" or having a "preconception" is a survival trait, regardless of how much people scream that its r-ac,ism. Sometimes it really is better to just continue driving a little further and park/grab food in a safer environment. Not trying to nit-pick or criticize, and I genuinely apologize if I come off that way. I just want people to stop fighting that little voice in the back of their head when it tells them they are probably not in a safe area. Modern media has convinced everyone that the tiny voice is ra-c,ism, and to actively fight against it. The reality is, that voice is trying to help you survive! It's a good thing to listen to! 👍
Anyways, sorry if I come off negative or condescending. My entire point is just that; you did absolutely nothing wrong, and I sincerely hope you always remember this scary story and never allow yourself back into a situation like that! 💯

Whats even crazier is my company hired a sensitivity training session for no known reason (nothing happened at my job) and we were told that its impossible for a minority to be racist because they arent in a position of power. So my black boss cant be racist to me then? He isnt just a "whay if" for the sake of argument. Changing the definition of racism to that does not make sense and i dont accept it - treating anyone different for the color of their skin is racist to me (it can be negative or positive ) example of positive racism/stereotype - all asians are studious and good at math. I always hear the minority aspect of it too but interesting fact: globally speaking white people are actually a minority when conpared to asian, chinese, african and hispanic populations worldwide. So by their own definition i guess white people cant be racist in Africa because we are the minority and not in a position of power? Stupid stuff right?
