I don't know if anyone ever noticed this but each generation of NASCAR is put into this movie. Hudson Hornet - early seasons of NASCAR The King - 70s era ish Chick Hicks - 80s ish McQueen - early 2000s Jackson Storm - new concepts
Accidental bumps happen all the time in NASCAR. They are driving 200 miles per hour, so trying to wreck someone on purpose is essentially a death sentence. When a crash happens they bring out the caution flag and get the cars that can still drive back on the track to finish the race.👍🏼
Fun fact The Hudson Hornet is a real car manufactured by Hudson in the early 50s. Chick Hicks is a 79 Shyster Cremlin in the movies but is based off either a 86 Buick Regal or 87 Buick Grand National in real life. And Dinoco King is actually a Plymouth Superbird, but you can also say that he is actually a 69 dodge charger daytona 500 as they are both very similar.
There's actually another indication that Lightning is a Rookie. The yellow stripe that is on his lower rear bumper is an indicator that he is a rookie. All rookie Nascar drivers have that on their cars.
This is the first ever movie I have seen in the theaters. I was so little at the time. This was the whole reason why I grew up living this movie forever. You would'nt know how much I was singing that Rascal Flatt song for years. My school had us watch the movie in the classroom for Christmas. The first movie will always be the best one of the franchise. I had a Lightning McQueen cake for my birthday when I was little. I played the GameCube game so much back then. It was my first game on that console. My dad got me a Cars racing track when I was little. I watched this movie over like 100 times. It's insane how much tine has passed. I'm almost 25 this year, and it feels like my childhood is coming back to me.
While it isn’t the strongest from Pixar, the first Cars is significantly better than a lot of people give it credit for. I especially love McQueen’s character development throughout the film.
The last Disney film to be released on VHS. Lightning's sponsers are voiced by Tom (RIP) and Ray Maglozzi, aka "Click and Clack, the Tappit Brothers," retired Boston mechanics who hosted a radio show on NPR where listeners would call in to get their often humorous advice on car repair.
Cars is such a phenomenal movie! Beautiful animation, great behind the scenes and Easter eggs, hilarious jokes and a lot of adult ones, the best character arc, and such an emotional movie too. Like one of my favorite moments and emotional moments is when doc talks about how he went back after almost dying and they told him IT’S OVER. YOU’RE HISTORY. “There was a lot left in me, I never got the chance to show them.” The Hudson Hornet wasn’t only a real brand of cars, but “The FABULOUS HUDSON HORNET” is really based on two real hornets that shared the name. Back then Hudson Hornets were dirt track racers. My favorite part about this film and Pixar in general is when they do so much research. The creator and director of Cars is personally obsessed with actual cars and racing. All the cars are based on real racing cars, it was the first Pixar film to use ray tracing to make light reflect, they recorded the actual cars they’re based off, they got real racing legends to voice characters, and he took the whole animation and sound crew to Route 66 to experience how it’s like. Watch the behind the scenes.
Apparently Paul Newman loved car racing, so it's appropriate he's in this movie. And I like that they gave Doc Hudson blue eyes like Paul - though I'm not sure if they got the shade just right. Paul Newman, for those who don't know, Paul Newman was a famous actor who was known as the most handsome man on the planet, especially known for his blue eyes.
If you guys ever want to see a race, go to the Indy 500. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the largest sports venue by seating capacity and roughly 250,000 permanent seats. Including the infield increases it to over 300,000
It seriously bugs me how this film is considered to be the black sheep of Pixar’s golden age. It has a creative and accurate depiction of racing culture, a tribute to US Route 66 and small towns that got bypassed, masterful storytelling that culminates in gradual character arcs that take full advantage of its runtime, which is accomplished through dynamics with other characters in this film, Randy Newman’s phenomenal score, a great song selection, a perfect voice cast, solid humour, groundbreaking visuals, and most importantly, passion and dedication put into this film by its filmmakers. But no, people would rather fixate on how the Cars universe doesn’t make any sense and not even address the story or characters because according to critics and UA-camrs like Schaffrillas Productions, JelloApocalypse or Mr. Enter, it’s “Pixar’s first bad film”.
But of course-it’s so much easier and tReNdiER to just follow the herd and not think for oneself, don’tcha know? (God I’m tired of mindless followers in every arena. And that goes for EVERYTHING. I’ve interacted with countless *ants* that have had more independent thought than most people, and they’re literal hive animals. I’d probably say the same for various kinds of bees, too, but I have a major phobia of all “winged stingers” and tend to avoid being around them as much as possible.) Morons.😑 I’m with ya, 100%. Very well addressed, by the way.
As a viewer, subscriber and enjoyer of schaffrillas production's, yeah he had a massive L take on that one. Because with that logic, the toys being alive in toy story makes no sense, so it's a "bad movie" same thing with a bugs life, Not to mention he's a big woke person. Which in my opinion you should keep politics out of kids animated movies.
@@PTS-MaidI think his point is the characters being cars doesn't change anything. This movie could easily be about a human Nascar racer and you wouldn't need to change much. I don't think it really matters but I see where its coming from. Toy Story is a story that specifically wouldn't work if it wasn't about sentient toys.
My brother and me used to watch this movie all the time when we were kids. Back then, I was a huge F1 fan and I remember that my whole family was freaking out when we first heard Michael Schumacher's cameo at 42:13, since we're German and he's always been our favorite driver :)
This was the movie was stage main reason into motorsports, NASCAR in particular and I couldn’t have been happier that I’ve been a racing fan since 2007.
That first lyric from real gone “I was born in the south, sometimes I have a big mouth, when I see something that I don’t like.” Hit really hard. As someone from the south, this is so true. We are talkative when were welcoming and were still just talkative when were not.
Here's my theory to McQueen stopping before the finish line. Normally at first glance, anyone would say he could've helped King Dinoco after he'd himself finish the race first. But apart from the Doc Hudson flashback, I think the real reason they did that is because after a driver finishes the race, he wouldn't be allowed to go back and even if it was allowed it still wouldn't legally count.

This is George Carlin, Katherine Helmond, Paul Newman and Joe Ranft's final Pixar movie. 7. This is the first Pixar movie to use ray tracing. 8. This is one of the final Pixar DVD/VHS releases to use the filmreel bumper. 9. This is the second movie to feature a post credit scene. And 10. This is Pixar's 7th feature film.
Great reaction! Cars may not be my favorite Pixar movie, but I still really like it and have tons of nostalgia for it! I think it might have been my first movie in theaters (it was either that or Happy Feet idk which came out first). The soundtrack especially goes hard. Real Gone and Life is a Highway are such bangers!

Ah, a movie of my childhood. I don't fully remember, but I'm sure I was obsessed with it. I kinda still am. I'll never pass the occassion to see it. I even still have my DVDs of all three movies.
This is definitely a Pixar classic. It has some good moments, and Owen Wilson is pretty good as Lightning McQueen, and I liked the Mater scenes when I was a kid. But, best of all, it had the Rascal Flatts cover of Life is a Highway. I loved that cover so much, I listened to it every time I take a road trip. 😅
CARS was the reason you know you had the last of the greatest childhood Era. Now disney and the whole world has changed , masterpiece like these are now basically non existence
I still have my cars videogame on my PS2. I was playing it Tuesday! Also with the jokes, I’m surprised y’all didn’t get the one where Mack was “eating the butt” of the other truck in front of him. That’s why the car next to them was like WTF? 😂😂😂
This movie, along with Disney's Tarzan were one of those movies where I would be able to sit in front of the TV and watch this movie on repeat aaaall day and still want more (I had a CD of few classic movies and Cars along with Tarzan, both Toy Story movies and the Robots movie). Hell, the best memory I got when I moved to Poland was me being 8 years old, sitting on the floor with my cousins in a basically empty living room, freshly painted, couches moved in and the big, ol chunky TV, watching Cars on it while munching on pizza with my 6 cousins.
I've never seen this entire movie for over 10 years. I first saw it as a kid. It was a pretty great Pixar movie with life-learning lessons. RIP to Doc Hudson’s voice actor, Paul Newman (1925-2008). Paul did a phenomenal job of voicing Hudson. Sadly, Hudson had already gone before the events of Cars 2 due to the voice actor’s death.
And that’s likely why his character was deceased by the next film, although the third did feature Hudson it was mainly just in flashbacks and with archived recordings by Newman.
At 11:31 you can see the “A113” on both the left and right side of the trains’ face. A113 being the classroom that a lot of the artists from Pixar had a class in before being hired at Pixar.
Fun Fact: there was a deleted scene after lightning gets lost titled “Lost” where because he has no headlights, he stumbles upon a pit full of dead cars with their insides coming out their windows with dead trees. The scene where he gets strapped and chased by the Stanley statue in the deleted scene was a dead car muffler. That scene was one of those unnecessary scenes but I feel like it would’ve been one of the darkest moments in the car’s franchise besides Cars 2’s body count
11:32 did you guys notice the number on the train? It’s in every Pixar movie as an Easter egg that refers to the classroom used by graphic design and character animation students at the California Institute of the Arts.
Thank you for reacting to my favorite movie of all time. I seen a million times as well. In 2007, my dad and i were at Walmart and i saw this in a dvd section, asked him to buy it for me, he did, and we went home to watch. It's been my favorite ever since. I became a Nascar fan thanks to this movie 3 years later.
First time I saw this when it came out in 2006 I was 12 and now I'm 29!! Still love it to this day!! I remember cuz I was in las vas on vacation with my family cuz my dad had to go on business. Me, my mom, and my little sister went and saw it in a theater in our hotel believe it or not!! We then went to Arizona the next day and guess where we stayed?! Yep, route 66 and in a train car at a motel!! Pretty crazy after seeing this the day before. I will always remember it though. ❤
[14:00] "Boy, you're in a heap of trouble," was a shout-out to a famous 1970 TV commercial for the Dodge Challenger, where the "sheriff" tells the driver, "You in a heap of trouble, boy!"
As a kid, i really dont know why highway matter to people...but when i grow up, i realize that using regular, long road is actually more fun then take a highway. At least there severel place to "pit stop" and the way how everyplace keep changing, make your eye enjoy the view. Highway make going to one place faster but at same time, it feel boring that it easy to fall a sleep and scary at the same time becuase how fast the car are going....
Fun Fact, Strip Weathers (The King) is voiced by Richard Petty, a famous nascar legend and his design is based off of Petty’s superbird from the late 60’s. Also, his crash at the end of the movie is based off of Rusty Wallace’s crash at the Winston 500 that happened in 1993 😢 (he survived)
I know I'm probably just reading something into nothing, but I saw the whole fixing the road thing as a way to show how rehabilitation is more effective than just straight up arresting him.
The first Cars movie has so much charm. The second one is a massive decline, but the third one is pretty good again. Also, just a minor note: Porsche is actually pronounced "POR-shuh", as it's named after the company's founder, Ferdinand Porsche.
Bro when i saw this for the first time i had the same reaction as tim i just wanted the racing but seeing it again now i cry every time due to me now maturing and understanding whats in this movie made it one of my favorite Pixar movies
Is it just me, or is Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable guy legit born to be voicing these characters. Btw, Michael Keaton voices Chick Hicks, hard to tell I know
This movie meant so much to me as a kid and honestly I feel like I can give this movie some credit to me becoming a nascar fan recently. One of my favorite animated movies ever

Because with that logic, the toys being alive in toy story makes no sense, so it's a "bad movie" same thing with a bugs life,
Not to mention he's a big woke person. Which in my opinion you should keep politics out of kids animated movies.
I loved this movie growing up so I was honestly surprised when I found out later that it was considered "a bad movie for Pixar" 😅

38:42 PEET STOP 😂❤
Most iconic line ever
My brother and me used to watch this movie all the time when we were kids.
Back then, I was a huge F1 fan and I remember that my whole family was freaking out when we first heard Michael Schumacher's cameo at 42:13, since we're German and he's always been our favorite driver :)
The best part about the flies being cars is that they are specifically Volkswagen *Beetles*.
This was the movie was stage main reason into motorsports, NASCAR in particular and I couldn’t have been happier that I’ve been a racing fan since 2007.
Here in Germany the dubbing voice for Lightning McQueen in "Cars" is Daniel Brühl.
9:25 poor mack! all he wanted was to sleep but lighting said no, we gotta keep going til we get to california 😒😒
That first lyric from real gone “I was born in the south, sometimes I have a big mouth, when I see something that I don’t like.” Hit really hard. As someone from the south, this is so true. We are talkative when were welcoming and were still just talkative when were not.
8:13: War of the Worlds & Wilhelm scream in one daydream. I love it.

I loved watching the two of you react together 😊
They are a cute couple, love the hand holding at 40:49
I saw Cars for the first time when I was like 6 years old
Great reaction!
29:58 HEARTBREAKING: The Worst Person You Know Just Made A Really Good Point
The opening of this movie sure takes me back. 5-year-old me thought it was the coolest thing ever.
7:22 it’s not only them flashing. Look at the green camera car behind them, he’s enjoying the view to the fullest 😂😂
Cars came out in 2006 when I was 1 years old and I still watch it till now because it’s my favorite Pixar film
History Interesting Fact: The Number 43 King Car Which Is A Voice Actors Of Richard Petty Cause He Usually A Best Legendary NASCAR Racer Where He Won 7X Winners Of Daytona Speedway
I had Lightning McQueen Merch as a kid. The cultural significance of this franchise is something else.
7:26 I didn't pick up on that joke years ago. 🤣
35:31 Woah I just realised the order in which the racecars are lined up spells Piston Cup. Why have I never seen anyone point that out
Ah, a movie of my childhood.
23:59 ~Get a good peak city boy?~ 24:05 Hope you enjoyed the show! Lol 🤣
The movie Cars 1 means a lot to me, it was a part of my childhood ❤
CARS was the reason you know you had the last of the greatest childhood Era. Now disney and the whole world has changed , masterpiece like these are now basically non existence
7:24 Someone pointed out that if you look behind the fan girls flashing McQueen, you can see the car behind them checking one of them out 😂
Richard Petty is the voice of the blue 43 car. Petty actually drove a similar car. He's a 7 time Winston Cup Champion
I hope you guys will be able to watch the Planes movies soon! They're not as popular as the Cars franchise, but I think you'll still enjoy them
I still have my cars videogame on my PS2.
Fact: cars 1 is actually the longest Pixar film Disney has ever made
Disney Pixar
I've never seen this entire movie for over 10 years. I first saw it as a kid. It was a pretty great Pixar movie with life-learning lessons.
RIP to Doc Hudson’s voice actor, Paul Newman (1925-2008). Paul did a phenomenal job of voicing Hudson. Sadly, Hudson had already gone before the events of Cars 2 due to the voice actor’s death.
And that’s likely why his character was deceased by the next film, although the third did feature Hudson it was mainly just in flashbacks and with archived recordings by Newman.
43:25 John Ratzenberger aka. Cliff the Mailman from Cheers with the exception of Soul and Elemental was in every single Pixar movie to date.
One of my favorite childhood movies! luv the music score and voice acting of cast, especially Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy and Paul Newman (RIP)
No one can top the adorable meter when it comes to Mater. I would love to have that lovable goof as a best friend
Damn, This movie was my entire childhood. I remember watching it when I was just 2 years old. Ahhh Nostalgic Memories.
Beginning of the movie
Lightning - "I'm a one man show."
Twoards the end of the movie
Me - That one man is Guido.
At 11:31 you can see the “A113” on both the left and right side of the trains’ face. A113 being the classroom that a lot of the artists from Pixar had a class in before being hired at Pixar.
You will see it incorporated in every Pixar film somehow.
and at the time stamp 11:31 where the first 3 numbers are 113 since I found out about the A113 thing I always look for it in the movies
This was Paul Newman's last movie before his death in 2008 also I love this movie it's still holds up 17 years later
I’m a Nascar fan so I watched this movie several times
21:28 if I'm correct I had the same game for the PS2, I used to play that every day it was awesome
23:33 do u see the picture with eiffle tower that is a easter egg for ratatoullie which came after cars even pixar didn't find this easter egg
I love cars it's my childhood with other Disney movies!!🍿
23:59 City Boy!!
When McQueen stopped at the finish line, you can feel the SECONDS he had in the lead before Greeny caught up.
The tow cable latching on is more like wrapping around one of their “legs”
omg i was also 12 when it came out!
I was near the same age, I was 11.
Still has a spot in my heart.
But man, your hotel had a movie theater? Which one was that ?
@@RYMAN1321 it was in las Vegas so it's no surprise it had one lol!! I can't remember but it was a fancy name.
At 35:52, did anyone ever notice that the cars that drive by hold a special secret. Shout me out if anyone has seen it.😁
i want to let you guys know there is a VHS tape of Cars released Feb 19th 2007
True, it was the last official Disney VHS though copies were very hard to find
[14:00] "Boy, you're in a heap of trouble," was a shout-out to a famous 1970 TV commercial for the Dodge Challenger, where the "sheriff" tells the driver, "You in a heap of trouble, boy!"
I love this movie so much I spent the night at my grandmas last month and we benched cars 1 and 3 We also watched elemental. It was so much fun.
Not a bad way to end an illustrious career for Paul Newman (the voice of Doc Hudson). He sadly died of cancer in 2008.
Omg im sorry but Clariss having the hots for Sally is the funniest thing
As a kid, i really dont know why highway matter to people...but when i grow up, i realize that using regular, long road is actually more fun then take a highway. At least there severel place to "pit stop" and the way how everyplace keep changing, make your eye enjoy the view. Highway make going to one place faster but at same time, it feel boring that it easy to fall a sleep and scary at the same time becuase how fast the car are going....
Fun Fact,
Strip Weathers (The King) is voiced by Richard Petty, a famous nascar legend and his design is based off of Petty’s superbird from the late 60’s.
Also, his crash at the end of the movie is based off of Rusty Wallace’s crash at the Winston 500 that happened in 1993 😢 (he survived)
2:58 idk if it’s just me but I swear I can see slight exhaust smoke coming out when he revs. If so the attention to detail is so good
10:07 headphones with bass turned up and this particular part 🥴❤
I know I'm probably just reading something into nothing, but I saw the whole fixing the road thing as a way to show how rehabilitation is more effective than just straight up arresting him.
The first Cars movie has so much charm. The second one is a massive decline, but the third one is pretty good again. Also, just a minor note: Porsche is actually pronounced "POR-shuh", as it's named after the company's founder, Ferdinand Porsche.
I like all 3. But the first is the GOAT
12:15 so that means in this world you can get in trouble for walking too fast, since the cars are supposed to be people
Bro when i saw this for the first time i had the same reaction as tim i just wanted the racing but seeing it again now i cry every time due to me now maturing and understanding whats in this movie made it one of my favorite Pixar movies
15:20 you owe me $32,000 in legal fees
That’s America 😂😂
FACTS😂😅
21:33 I also remember playing a Cars video game on my Grandparents original Xbox when I was younger, and I'm only 16 years old.
I still have the GameCube version
