RIP Ms. Elizabeth Hart One can only wish to be buried in their garden and left alone, left to Rest In Peace in the place you found the most peace in life. ❤️
I'm so pleased to see that her grave is still respected and left untouched. I really do think that the dead you visit would be pleased that you've visited and spoken their names. They live again, thanks to you.
Thank you so much for this video! Elizabeth Hart is my ggggrandmother. I have always been told that she was buried in her daughter's garden. Her daughter married a Watson. She did have a granddaughter buried near her, and at one time, there was a marker. I have a picture of it somewhere. The granddaughter's name was Philista Hart. It made me so happy to know that her grave is still honored. Thank you.
I’m pretty sure you just stumbled on to one of my kin. Elizabeth Hart was born Elizabeth Greer, 5/8/1798 in Union County, SC. My Hart and Greer descendants were abundant in the Western NC/VA area but many family members went to SC and GA. Thank you for this video!
She’s buried in a place she loved…I love the compassion you have of finding these graves and trying to preserve their memory by documenting them..I bet there are more unknown graves, just waiting to be found..
Another way to look at it is that she was laid to rest in her garden, a place that probably brought her great joy in life. She is right where she wanted to be. ❤️
Very cool. I love that sort of stuff. Just off a dirt road in the back woods of Egg Harbor City, here in Atlantic County, NJ, there is a single grave. It is for a 34 year old woman named Mrs. Sibbel Shaler and her 3 infant children. She died in 1785, presumably from disease. She was the wife of a Revolutionary War privateer captain.
What a sweet presentation, Robert. I can picture Elizabeth's garden and her descendants tending it. I can imagine flowers around her grave. She was dearly treasured, judging by her markers. Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your earlier years.
Awesome, I check on this one every few months or so, especially after the logging in the area. She has family buried nearby at the Pine Level Cemetery.
Very lonely feeling being the lone grave. She probably has not had a visitor in a long time. The sand surely did erode the stone badly. Very different from Harris county. It seems your area of Georgia has very diverse terrain and soil not far from each other, a Geologist dream. Nice new farm truck! Thanks for the adventure and sharing your growing up days.👍👍
so sad to see Miss Elizabeth Hart's ONLY grave in what used to be her garden. I'm sure if that place was cleared of the leaves and the smaller wild trees and brush, you would be able to see poossibly more graves or indentions in the ground. thank you for and the other gentleman for locating her and doing what he could to protect her from logging...
She's in my family tree. Unfortunately my cousin is listed as unknown Hart, but according to a will, his name was John Hart and her father in law was Rev Oliver Hart who was born and died in Pennsylvania.
Robert my darling. You’re right. The grave site looks so lonely. Can you imagine how the area look like so long ago. A few words chiseled out on a slab of cement is the only memory left. Brings tears to my eyes. The spirit lives forever. Not even a few flowers in celebration of life. Well Robert my love, until next time. Take care and stay safe 🍺🕊🇺🇸🌞🙏😇❤️🌈👍🌹
Please bring some of the cleaner that Robert uses and clean that off. Her daughters' information may be on the ground stone. I barely saw four possible grave sites from where the vegetation changes position as well as slight risings or indentations in the ground. You're right, unless a bad storm system (tropical or tornado) sweeps the area sand doesn't sink like softer earth. It tends to stay risen from the water in the ground. A coffin may even make it stay a little risen due to swelling from heat or water! Take a close look at your video because I think you caught them.
When I hear and see things like this, I imagine the lives of the individuals in the place of their rest in the afterlife. I adhere to no religious beliefs but I do indulge in imaginations of the lives of the deceased continuing with awareness of changing times. How they maintain the peace they had in life is a fascination of my imagination. I even create handmade books with their stories. It's a wonderful way to spend time when retired.
Is there any history related to her and or family or the homestead here. That would be interesting to find out if others are in a cemetery somewhere or if there are really others with her. Thanks for this video......a little mystery to be sure
Thanks for the great video! It's a Miracle that her grave has not been desecrated or torn up or her headstone stolen. Thank you for sharing with us. Love from Memphis~
That is so cool! I honestly think a quiet place like that is not such a bad place for my remains to turn dust as God intended. I agree with you though, it seems to me that she is probably not the only grave there. She was probably the only one marked. I need to ask my daddy if he knows about how graves would settle or if it’s different down that way. He spent a lot of time in south west Georgia as a kid. My Grandpaw was raised down in Moultrie, Ga in Colquitt County. There is a cemetery there that is seriously cool that I went to as a kid. My great uncles or at least one is buried there. I’ll have to send you the find a grave on that one. I really want to make a trip down that way soon.
What a sweet, touching story. By the way, sometimes wiping the stone with shaving cream will make the letters appear clearer. You simply rinse off the stone when you're done.
An interesting side note on the grave - the inscription on the grave is the same inscription found on her daughter's grave stone, Nancy Hart Fowler, in Pine Level Cemetery.
what a sweet gravesite - to be buried in one's garden would be a peaceful rest for sure. I would love to see it in the Spring with perhaps some Spring bulbs popping up and blooming ...
This reminds me of how the New Jersey shore areas are.I live in Staten Island NY but only a half hours drive away from the NJ coastal areas. The land is all sandy with Pines the entire stretch of the state along the coastline. If you drive just a little inland the soil is rich and black.I always love the shoreline areas especially during the summer months.
Nice power stroke you got there Robert! Keep them serviced and they will run along time! My 97 has 444,000 miles! No major issues! No injectors, glo plugs, etc! I religiously use lupus fuel treatment in mine! The old 7.3s were designed to run on a heavier sulfur diesel which today doesn't have as much! I use it every fill up just 3 good squeezes from the bottle and you're good! As usual great vid, I still envy what you do with these cemetarys and history! I would do something similar but I don't think it would pay the bill! So I keep doing my electrical work!
Thanks. This one has around 150,000 on it. My second one. Other one I had was a 95 crew cab long flat bed. I sold it so I could buy this 97 Crew cab short bed. I love it. I wish it was 4x4 tho.
@AdventuresIntoHistory 150,000 is just broke in! Mine is a 97 extended cab, long bed 4WD with 5 speed manual! Bought it in 98 with 19,000 miles for $23, 500 and I have absolutely loved it all these years! If you want a comfortable ride these trucks are not what you want! I also took the black cover off the top of the engine because it holds alot of heat, I thing it causes deterioration to wiring and connectors! I noticed they haven't gotten worse after that!
There is another lonely grave by itself in the woods of the Osceola State Forest in Baker County, Florida near a very, very small town called Taylor, Fl. Baker County is right on the Florida/ Georgia borderline. The name on the grave is John D. Williams. There is a brown sign that lets you know that you're in the right place but doesn't show where it is. You can find it on Google maps. That's how my fiancee and I found it. There is also a website on the grave site. If you go there please post it. I hope you find it. Be sure to bring a quarter with you to put on the grave. You'll see why just like we did. 🙂👍💚
But not forgotten, as long as there are people that make reports about people and graves lost to time. Thank you for your report on this lost grave. I wonder if there is more info about her and her home from the past?
Could you please post the video you posted a few years ago about the lady who didn't want to move and leave her house, friends and club activities, so she shot herself in an upstairs room, and you found her grave near her house? Or, could you tell me where I can find it? I've been looking for that video for a long time, but can't find it. Would love to see it again. Thanks for this video here, I hope her family is there with her, even though there aren't any headstones other than hers. ❤❤❤
Seeing old Graves out all by themselves in the woods makes me feel sad we've got a few of those out where I live the only people that probably go see these graves are the ones that are hiking through the woods
Robert hsve you ever tried witching the ground with two pieces of flag marker wire or copper wire bent 90 degrees! Ive found or determined many times if there are or where graves are located! Its easy to do, ive also found water lines, septic lines, etc! Dont hnow how it works, magnetics maybe, it has to do with ground layers different after filling hole or trench back in! So you could very well see if Mrs Hart's family members are buried next to her!
That's really sad here she probably thought she'd be burying her beautiful garden behind the home she loves so much and now it's all gone that's so sad
I'm trying to find this lady over on Google to see if you know maybe somebody took a picture and put it on grave finder but they haven't the only Elizabeth Hart that is buried with her nieces and nephews and several other family she is buried in a family cemetery out in the woods and that is on grave finder Cason Family Plantation Cemetery Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia, USA
Hi Robert. With so many unmarked graves you explore and all the lumbering and house building nearby these graves, does Georgia make the companies when they run into these graves?
Find the cheapest IPhone you can that has the LiDAR on it. With an app from the store you can 3D scan the surface of marker and possibly read what is there. I scanned my great grandfathers headstone using my phone and it worked pretty darn good.
@@AdventuresIntoHistory Robert try the photo scan part of Metascan first. Your basically just taking pictures of different angles of what you are wanting to scan. Software puts them together in a 3D file. Play with when you have a down minute on the farm. I think you will find uses for it. I need to find a weathered headstone to practice on.
Can that be cleaned up with that chemical y'all use? It's sad if she is buried by herself. WOW. Thank you Robert for this video . I enjoy seeing videos like this and hearing the history behind the individual and family.

I visited her memorial on Find a Grave.
You should carry around one of those handheld corn brooms so you could brush away something like that tombstone cover

In northeast Georgia Hart County is named for Nancy Hart. Maybe a relative?
And you grew up in Marion County Georgia? Buena Vista? I did too. Cool.
Good project for the other Robert to clean. Then you could possibly read it !
Is there enough of the engraving to attempt to do an etching with paper & charcoal?
lets hope she is not alone :( find a grave had some good info :)
I thought I saw judgement day you need ground penitentrating radar to scan it

A lonely grave in the middle of nowhere.....That's how I'd like to end....
I don't know if anyone has suggested it yet, but how about a rubbing with paper & pencil?

Too bad there isn't some kind of a washable dye to pour on that to maybe bring out what the words on slab are?

Yeah, seems highly unlikely that other family members are out there , and none have a headstone ?! RIP Liz .....
A theory only ... The sandy soil probably backfills any depression that may develop.
It's a pity nobody will do a rubbing of Inscription... tracing paper over the Stone and rub it with Artists Carbon.
No damage to Stone!
How sad.
last line of her epitaph seems to say "Judgment Day"
Sounds like a Northern Bobwhite
It appeared to me that the last line of the epithet was “Judgement Day.”
The very last line of the epitaph is “Judgement Day”
Wonder on some of the hard to read you do rubbings I think it's called.
Strange that only women were mentioned possibly being there with her and not any men🤍🤍
Why visit a grave without a brush or other tools to clean, in order to read the inscriptions?
