It's so weird to me that he's only 31 years old...It seems like he's been around forever and I honestly thought he was pushing 40.
Feels like tht cuz he hasn’t been good in like 5 years guys 31 and feels like his career is ove r
Because he's already accomplished so much.
He already won more WS than Dodgers in 40 years that’s why it seems he’s been around forever
@Queen Elsa lol ... its him 😩😨
People compare him with Kershaw, 3 rings + postseason king vs. big-stage choker ... Well, Kershaw is still so far from being bad at 32 while Mad Bum is already a mediocre pitcher at 31. Whose career is better? I say it's just a matter of perspective, it's really pathetic for people to keep petty-quarreling over that.
There is nothing more unbelievable in sports to me than the fact that Madison Bumgarner is only 31.
Dont you mean Mason Saunders?
Absolutely. Pretty sure he’s in his late 40’s. No? Fuck man
I know right?
Well he peaked early. It just happens that way sometimes.
2010 he pitched in world series. I believe he was 20.
The braves got 1 hit over the course of 2 games in this double header
one hit in 14 innings. you love to see it.
Literally the first thought when Jomboy mentioned would he get it, wouldn’t he get it if bum pitched 2 more innings... lol
We know
@Queen Elsa The best part about that video, is it had 11,111 views when I watched..... which is fitting, considering the middle fingers shrek is giving lol
Imagine they went into extra innings and continued to pitch into the 9th
Rich hill
How would he have gotten a no hitter then
@@connorring597 score in the top of 9th, hold the lead in bottom of 9th. Lol
Wait, if they're doing that nonsense this year of extra innings start with a runner on second, does that mean you can literally pitch a 9-inning, complete, perfect game, and LOSE? Like you face 27 batters, but in the top of 9th inning you get a groundout and a flyout/sac fly, retire all 27 batters, and still get the L?
One thing to look forward to at the end of the pandemic is for these silly baseball rules to go away.
@@mrmacross i think u broke 2021 baseball lol
Atlanta played a double header, let's see: no runs on one hit? That's all we got, ONE GOD DAMN HIT?!
Good major-league reference
Nice
You can’t say god damn on the radio
Bob Uecker major league...”can’t say god damn on the air. Don’t worry nobody’s listening” 😂
As an Atlanta native...
Pain.
I know we won the MLS cup almost 3 years ago with a shit ton of records but we only have 2 total championship wins. Can someone put us out of our misery?
Good for MadBum it’s still weird to see him not in a Giants uniform.
That's how I felt when Glavine went to the Mets.
Yeah it’s rough seeing him in anything but orange and black
"could he have stayed on the bag?" my guy had to go to Carrollton to catch that ball
Thought he was boutta turn into MJ in Space Jam 🤣
Gotta love the Carrollton joke😂😂
Yeah that throw was way off. And it was lowkey a good thing that it made it a no hitter instead of a perfect game. It was technically an entire game where he didn’t allow a hit. But if it was a perfect game with only 7 innings it might have been disputed more intensely.
Legend has it that Manfred called the replay team to review the interview and still missed the sarcasm
Using your baby as a prop to celebrate is a total wildcard move. 😂
A no hitter by definition is going the whole game without giving up a hit. In this case the whole game is 7 innings which means it should qualify as a no hitter
"but hes been so bad that we're all excitced for him!!" had me dead 😂😂
Dbacks fan here, can confirm
"We got baby shaking in the front row!" Well thats not good.
Don't like to see that
Lil face shaker beats baby shaker all day
lmao the horses in the background during the interview was a nice touch
i heard from an un-identified source he finally went and got the ball out of the ocean
what is this a reference to lol
@@Jvailmilitar When Muncy hit a homer of him a few years ago and he got mad (because Madbum). Muncy's comeback was to tell him to go get the ball out of the San Francisco Bay.
Yeah his 3 WS rings help him not to drown and finally got the ball out
nah the best pitcher in post season history is just chillin with his 3 WS wins while muncy only has a single mini ring from the small covid season😉
He still hasn't.
It's his grace and humility and composure that really endears him to fans everywhere.

Been a Giants fan my whole life and a MadBum fan. He single handedly won us the 2014 World Series. So its great to see him having fun smiling and still doing great things.
As a royals fan I have a ton of respect for him
@@charliegambill1904 what he did that series was literally history in the making. Like he started 3 games and then started coming out of the bullpen too! He just had the Royals number that series. Was literally magical what i was witnessing.
But hey you guys won it all the next year

These 7-inning games (and the newish extra-innings rules) are gonna require a whole of asterisks in the stats books.
Are we doing asterisks for the PED stats then too?
I like what the Twins announcer said. Give him the no hitter with an asterisk that says 7 inning game.
That makes sense
Bob Brenly said the same thing
Asterisks have always been stupid. Either he threw a complete game no hitter (spoiler: he did) or he didn't.
Goes to his farm that night, leans in to his horse, whispers: "Hey Buddy, I threw a No-Hitter today."
Horse replies, “oh really? Got all 27 outs with no hits?” Bumgarner’s horse is a bit of an ass (or would that be a mule at that point?)
Underrated comment
You must have watched that Jomboy video where Jimmy said THE EXACT SAME THING.
@@Pwnzistor hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
@@Pwnzistor You must have as well
one of the few times i've seen a madbum clip and thought "i kinda like this guy"
Exactly!
2017 WS needs an asterisk more than this 7-innings no hitter.
This no-hitter counted. That WS didn’t.
@@jalmanza08 NON COUNTED!!
2017 will never count imo
If this doesn't count as a No Hitter because it was 7 innings, then the Dodgers shouldn't be WS Champs because it was only 60 games.
@@leavetheworldbehind1938 it should count, because if 7 inning doubleheader’s are official games and the season in 2020 was still an official season then it counts. It’s obviously not the same but given the circumstance it should count
A bit long, but I’m going to make some real quick good points. Not a Giants fan, but I’m of the opinion that this is a legit no-hitter. When the game is over and you haven’t given up a hit, it’s a no-hitter. A 7 inning game is regulation game now, if the second game of a doubleheader. It’s a predetermined amount of innings set forth by the league that started last season. Consider that we don’t subtract points from hitter’s batting averages in a 7 inning game because statistically, they most likely would have made an out (70% chance a batter makes an out each time they step to the plate) if they had one more at-bat, like usually would in a 9 inning game. So we shouldn’t penalize the pitchers and subtract from their accomplishments because it was a shorter game. One more thing, in the old days, many pitchers went past the 9th inning without giving up a hit, only to give up a hit in the 10th inning or above. They weren’t awarded a no-hitter after nine innings, because the game wasn’t over. You have to finish the game for it to count, regardless of the innings the game lasted. Madison finished the game. Madison threw a no-hitter.
7 inning no hitter is a joke and an insult to every pitcher who pitched a legitimate no-hitter. The key word here is legitimate!
@@manfrommeeteetse3880 You’re wrong. You’re wrong for me and you’re wrong for UA-cam.
Put the seven inning no hitters in a Leisure league softball record book. That is where they belong!
If this Is a 7 inning no-hitter, then Pedro pitched a 9 inning perfecto with the Expos vs the Padres in 93
im kinda diggin the white horse at the end. don't really know what it is or what is means, but i like it

As an Arizona native and fan of all our teams. We love bringing in guys 5 years past their prime for some reason.
Well, the Dodgers took AJ off your hands so you can't complain too much.
Hey, those greats past their prime do sell jerseys. I remember seeing a decent number of Jimmy Rollins jerseys the one year he was in LA. None the following year and actually saw some huge markdown jerseys at one particular booth the following year to I guess just get rid of them.
But in all honesty Dodgers went through a stretch of doing those type of deals like Andrew Jones, Kenny Lofton, Fred Mcgriff, they even traded for Him Thome mid season for a bench bat for a playoff push and he didn't do anything for us.
So as a Dodger fan who has seen so many former greats finally dawn a Dodger uniform to just not live up to their name (although Lofton wasn't bad, he was just at the end of his road and not the hitter he once was), it's just rough being a fan of a team where the owners don't care about putting out a competitive team. It's a serious issue in all sports. All teams have highs and lows, but when you see franchises just intentionally not trying to compete it's just sad. And bad for the sport. Like when 76er tickets for games cost less than one beer at the arena.
@@slashismyhommie8182 Agreed. It's too bad that AJ Pollock, Brian Dozier, Logan Forsythe, Josh Reddick etc. have all been better against the Dodgers than they were for the Dodgers.

I've been a fan of MadBum since his minor league days back with the Fresno Grizzlies. watched him there and than with the Giants, when he almost has a no-no. still a fan of him even if he is no longer with my team I'm happy for him even the MLB doesn't want it officially count it.
Hell yeah. I remember watching MadBum, Lincecum, Cain, Shierholtz, Posey, Belt, Wilson, Romo all playing in Fresno. I remember when I met Lincecum at a game in SF, I mentioned that my dad and I watched him all the time in Fresno and that we made the drive up to the bay to watch him start that day. He got a kick out of that and said he loved playing for the Grizzlies. (Probably because he decimated AAA lineups consistently) Man...it sucks the Grizzlies are a single A farm club now, we don't get to see the young guys on the brink of the big leagues like we used to.
Fresno here! Yea nice to watch all the giants come up here or did. I think since they changed the rule to 7 innings they need to have a separate category.

Commented on the Weekly Dumb, I’m trying to permeate this to the baseball universe, but a 7 inning no-no should be called a Manfred
Yes!
I love the horses featured with zero comment or explanation.
Watching from the UK. Not familiar with any baseball terminology or what is going on here but love a Jomboy Media breakdown
From what Mr Manfred has said, this actually should count if they are counting these half games as real ones
In the postgame he thanked the shadows and Rob Manfred for the 7 inning games. Funny guy.
Yes we know, it was literally in the video.
Oh, you saw this video too? What a coincidence.
Thank you, I'm hearing impaired and was wondering what he said.
That interview at the end killed me 😂
“oh my god we got babies shaking in the front row”😂😂
How about some coverage of the fight at dodgers stadium last night?
Dave Stieb can vehemently confirm that 7 innings of no-hit ball does *not* constitute a no-hitter.
But who is he supposed to be in context to this, aside from a former pitcher from the days?
@@julioornano8427 He had 4 no-hitters (including 1 perfect game) broken up in the 9th.
@@brenthooton3412 that's why I ask.. thats def more bias because of what he endured. I myself feel that it should be 9innings, (or more) but if it's not defined in the rules as such. Den dems the rule but it should def have an asterisks next to it
@@julioornano8427 I'm pretty sure it will, just because it's not a full 9 innings. I hate things like this, because Armando Galarraga should have one as well since it was botched by the umpire who later admitted his mistake- making it the only 28 out perfect game. Irony...

No hitter definition-
“a complete game in which a pitcher yields no hits to the opposing team”
He had a complete game where he didn’t allow a hit,why not let it be a no hitter?
Kornheiser gave you another shout out...keep up the great work...this should definitely count as a no no...not madbum fault it’s only 7...under the rules it is an official game in the books
No joke I think that's the first time I've ever seen madbum smile. Like legitimately
Surprised Madbum didn't chew out his teammates for celebrating too hard...
This is one reason why these 7 inning games are dumb. Baseball is a 9 inning game and by shortening it you're robbing pitchers of the possibility of no hitters, it messes with the legitimacy of the game
The horses!!! I'm dead.
3:15 glad to know you don’t care about us Jomboy ☺️
So he threw a complete game no hitter. Regardless of how many innings, it was a complete game. Id give it to him.
Especially since MLB changed the rules for doubleheaders to only last 7 innings. This "doesn't count" because he didn't go 9 is crap because they changed the rules to make doubleheaders only last 7. It's bullshit. If they can make a World Series in a 60 game season official then so should this
@@41Brother2 what im at right now is since 7 inning games dont count, shouldn't all of last years season not count either? I say take away the title from the Dodgers because that shit "dosnt count" either. Problem solved.
@@LaxoBLEACH It makes zero sense honestly. They changed the rules for double headers to go 7, yet to get an "official" no header you need to go 9 but in a game where it ends after 7 how is that fair? Could MadBum have gone 9? Probably but he's not given the opportunity because it's a double header.
MLB's rules of what's official and not make zero sense. A World Series in a shortened season counts but not a no-hitter in a 7 game doubleheader....
The fact that Zac Gallen also almost got a 7 innings no hitter in the exact same game
as a casual from the bay who hasn't been to a game in forever and is binging highlight clips to catch up i honestly just think it's cool he finally cut his hair
