English is not the official language of the U.S. Spanish is the 2nd most spoken language in the country. Nevertheless, this point of argumentation holds little merit in this case, as the man in the video is clearly fluent in English. The customers, and provokers of this incident, seemed to take offence to the man in this video speaking another language, fluently might I add, to another individual.

I've seen many situations like this where the staff was so polite and reasonable, that the rude customers just took their silence and left.
There are about 60,000 words and senses in Spanish that these woman don't even know exist. It is one the richest languages in the world, deriving its vocabulary from Latin, Greek, French, Catalán, German/Gothic, and classical Arabic...It is the third most spoken language in the world after Mandarin and English, and is spoken across 2 continents. Instead of being curious , aware and interested they choose ignorance and prejudice.
Make that four continents --Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia ( Phillipines Islands) and the Americas.
And If you speak French or/and Italian it's easy to understand. I still don't get why some people get angry while hearing another language...🤷♂

I was a restaurant in Canada and people beside me were speaking Spanish.
My date was Portuguese and they usually don’t like when people speak Spanish to them. He got up to use the bathroom, and I ended up having a conversation in Spanish with the people next to me. They were happy and I was comfortable, and when the Portuguese guy returned to his seat, he did not utter one word of rejection because it was my choice to speak another language.
Manager handled that perfectly. Assertive without being abusive.

I moved to the USA 27 years ago. My kids were were 9,12, and 13. My sons and I are completely integrated into the America way of life, and speaking a second language (my sons speak 3!) has been an asset to many of our American employers. Those women's behavior has no place in today's world.

I let her know that I am Latin since I am Portuguese, and yes, I liked my Latino Mexican husband, and who the F asks a stupid, racist question like that? And then I blocked her.
