Hi all! Let me know: will you be using Notion Automations and for what? 📣 Download your copy of my Essential Task Manager & Notion Time Tracking template here from $0! 👉www.bettercreating.com/taskmanager
I'm happy to report that I'm beginning to get the hang of things, and am excited about these new changes. Once I decide how I'll be using Notion Automations, I'll pop back in here and let you know whatI think, and how I'm using them. For now, I'd just like to thank you again for all you do, and for helping me through the struggle phase. ;-)
I always enjoy the way you show what a thing does before you show how to build one. I suppose the task minute tracker could be start, pause, stop - which you could then get update a total time in another field - or even a working time database… (if, like me you flit between tasks and projects over a longer time)?
@BetterCreating I was wondering about this too… the “stop pause start”. Or would you just create more/“smaller” tasks with shorter time frames? Really interested in this answer 😊
I’ve seen it with start/pause buttons; the start adding a new record with a start time to a database related to that task and the pause adding the stop time to that record, then a sum of all of those parts added up and rolled back to the original task - but I like the idea of automating that even more - either with the state change or even when the task has focus?
Thank you so much! this is REALLY HELPFUL ,especially for the part about the filer thing when you need auto adding to related databases. i wish i watched this video before my data missing🥲
Hi Simon, is it possible to pause a task (either with a new pause button or the stop button) in the time tracking template and resume the same task at a later time? In this case a task would have several time entries that notion has to addition to calculate the total time of a task. Can your template or notion in general do this at the moment?
Hi there! No worries - yes the Discord is for people who own a Life OS template :) Simplified Notion, Notion Life Os, Creative Os or the bundle of both. :)
Great video Simon and looking forward to the simplified notion template. How does an upgrade on your templates work? Am I correct in thinking that if I add a few fields to lets say the projects table, then an upgrade would overwrite them. How much can you personalise without making your installation not upgradable. Must be a challenge keeping up with Notion although I guess the core functionality does the job
Thank my friend. In fact - Notion is not a platform where you can update other people’s workspaces - so template updates are simply that I create an updated version and users can re-download / duplicate that template onto their workspace. From there you would have the option to move database content from your old version at your own risk, or simply start fresh. I try to share suggestions of best practice to do this. :) hope that helps.
Sorry to hear that. The creative os has been invaluable for running my business - but I want to work on finding a simpler version that is accessible to more people: the simplest system that works for you is best!

Thanks for sharing this amazing video, Simon!
Cheers from Brazil!
Happy friday Simon! So long.... excited to see great ideas implemented with formulas 2.0
Thanks my friend! Oh yes indeed - formulas 2.0 is on the list but for me, has to wait a little while I open a theatre show this month! :) Woop!
@@BetterCreating , congrats on the opening! Wishing you and your team great success! Cheers!

@@richardwalker_ I’ll check that out but it would be nice to see it more automated.

Great video! Found it easy to follow and to edit my OS with automations 😊
Great to hear! Thanks!

Hello Simon! Is the Discord server only available to those who purchase a template? Thanks for the videos!

@@BetterCreating What are your suggestions to do this?
If I sign up for a paid plan, create a bunch of automations, then downgrade will I lose access to my automations?
I seem to be having issues only when I try to add a page to another database. Anybody else having this issue?
I feel like this left be more unproductive with learning new task that don't work and spending money on a creative OS which is actually quite useless
