You can put Boondi in yoghurt, you just have to soak it for a few minutes till it gets soft in hot water, then add it to the yoghurt with some cucumber black pepper and sometimes you can add salt and then it will be a good side dish for any spicy curry
In the thali you actually called rasam (a soupy dish made using pepper, garlic, tamarind etc) as sambar and sambar as some other curry. There's two kinds of sambar the tiffen one(usually served with dosa and idli) and the rice one (the spicy one served with rice)

Okay, I'm salivating. 😊 Indian regional foods are some of my favorite cuisines both to eat and to cook. Their complexity is 5,000 years in the making with a myriad of cultural and religious influences. For vegetarians/vegans like me, the Hindu vegetarian culture offers _many_ delicious plant-based choices. Thank you Shinichi and Satoshi for taking us to two wonderful restaurants! Dosa is such a gift to the world. I prefer it without potato bcos i like it crispy allover. I rlly like the video thank you it helps me to really wakes up in the morning hearing you talk x thank you x
I'm from South India and I'll tell you about the South Indian food you had. It's Dosa/Masala Dosa which is made from rice/urad dal mix made into a batter and let ferment it for a day. It's really good we have it everyday for breakfast. You can also use the batter to make Idlies, check that out too. First side for Dosa is called Sambar, which is what we use as a main course mixed thoroughly with rice. We prepare it with bunch of spices, chilli powder, dal. There are different variations of Sambar based on vegetables used with. Chutney - That's a coconut chutney, grounded coconut with green chilli, mustard seed mixed in a mixer. That's how you get that amazing chutney. Spicy sauce - We have onion chutney, tomato-onion chutney or tomato chutney. Buttermilk - We usually drink it after having lunch which helps with digestion. We also mix rice with buttermilk/curd, which not only cools the body but helps with digestion, it's usually a palette cleanser. Rasam - The clear soup kinda thing you had with the Thali is called Rasam. Once again, there are different versions with tomato based, jeera based, and lot more. It's made with diluted tamarind, bit of dal, tomato and rasam base powder which is made up of different spices. Rasam is enjoyed with rice between Sambar and Curd rice in a meal. Rasam is also a good medicine if you have common cold or not well in general. Pro tip: Have Indian food with hand in a banana leaf, really adds flavour and you can feel the food. Our South Indian food is well balanced with nutrients and really tasty containing all kind of flavours. Glad you guys enjoyed it!
In the South Indian platter, the thinner soup is called rasam (containing tamarind juice, stock of dhal and spices predominantly containing black pepper corns) and the one with vegetable pieces is the sambar

Your enthusiasm during this video is contagious, you made me smile the whole time, thanks a lot!
In the South Indian platter, the thinner soup is called rasam (containing tamarind juice, stock of dhal and spices predominantly containing black pepper corns) and the one with vegetable pieces is the sambar
