@AnalogEcho Thank you! Humbuckers seem to have a bit too hard mid range for me or maybe it's just the missing top end that i want to hear. I have been playing strats almost always, might have something to do with it. After changing the pickups the Les Paul suddenly started to get much more playing. Also now it's perfect Vox AC30 guitar.
Dude, you've got pretty much everything i love when it comes to guitars. '58 Les Paul, P90 style pickups, Divided By 13 and Tamio Okuda :) I just LOVE the tone with both pickups and a little dirt and you nail Tamio's! Too bad i live in Denmark, i would love to see Tamio in concert.
Sounds awsome. I just bought a Gretsch 5120 and was thinking about throwing a pair of Phat Cats in it. The sound was a little muddy with the stock pickups. But now you got me wanting to replac the Burstbuckers in my LP!
@ex250 Yep, nice phaser it is. I actually got it to replace EH Small Stone which has a bit similar swirl (this mode on the video) but less high end loss. I haven't heard better so far... or maybe the Schulte Compact Phasing would be the ultimate phaser but it's very hard to find and expensive.
hi man i need you help.i got a phat cat neck and i would like to put it in my epiphone les paul junior that just have the bridge position but well i dont know i dont want to have a guitar that its too jazzy what do you think. thanks
Hi, it may work fine however i haven't tried any humbucker with it so i have no opinion. Gibson Les Paul BFG has a P-90 with a humbucker, you may want to check it out.
@plotonisradd Ok, let's see if i am able to accomplish some Black Sabbath tones at some point later. Can't promise but i keep that in mind, thanks for a suggestion :)
It's always difficult to say what's good for other people. If you have '57 Classics pickups in your LPC, the burstbuckers in your R8 may feel a bit thin as they are brighter. Only guessing. Good luck.
regarding my r8, they deff are lighter/thinner. i have to increase the volume to a comfortable practice volume. do you know if caps make a difference? i have bumble bees in the r8 and ceramic in my LPC. the volume thing is what has me moving towards Phat Cats. Again thoughts would help understand the different volumes on my guits. thanks
adidas331 Caps don't make a difference in volume only slight difference in tone. Burstbucker type 1 has lower output than '57, type 2 has similar output, type 3 has higher output than '57.
Those pickups have such a wonderful "warmness" to them.

Great playing, man, and it sounds like Hell Yeah =D
nice demo of those pickups. i am considering to put one of those in the bridge on my es335 copy that i have.
Really nice riffs man
@Simto Thank you! Indeed it would be great to see Tamio and some other Japanese artists too!

@173guitarman No, stock CTS pots (500k) and stock bumble bee caps.

@mxjoe35 Thanks! Yes, Phat Cats are good alternative for humbuckers when you need something a bit different.
Thank you! I do the best i can when micing the cabinet, the whole signal route.

@jplesner I haven't tried exactly P-94. I have tried P-90 and i think i like Phat Cat better.
@jplesner It's Phat cat which is not exactly P-90 or P-94 but anyway
@danzy22 Thanks! Sorry i haven't found any tabs so far.
@leonimrod Sorry i don't have any idea how neck phat cat sounds in bridge position. It doesn't necessarily sound bad. I guess you just have to try it.
I have a question for you . How do the pickups response with high overdrive tones ? Or can you make a high overdrive review of the pickups ?
superb sound! Could the amp be a Cornford, maybe?
Thank you! The amp is Divided by 13 RSA23 www.dividedby13.com/rsa23.html
Did you change out Gibson's stock electronics ? (pots & wiring) I got a Les Paul DC I wanna do this to.
Can a regular humbucker work with a Phat Cat? Suggestions?
@plotonisradd Ok, let's see if i am able to accomplish some Black Sabbath tones at some point later. Can't promise but i keep that in mind, thanks for a suggestion :)
I would love to hear the sound of the Phat Cat pickups in an Iceman guitar.
@173guitarman Great, hope you like it!
@Janne19691 i was asking: what do you think phat cat or p-94?
@Janne19691 gibson p-94 or phat cat?
well done..and well recorded..it actually sounds ok for youtube
@Janne19691 ordering my set right now ! THANX
Great Video !!! what song is that at the beginning ?
+Robbie Height Thanks! The song is Tamio Okuda's Mugen no kaze.
Im about to do what you did with the Phat Cats. I have an R8 and my sound is light/thin vs. my LPC. Any thoughts would help

do you till have your h3500 mic
Yes, still have it. It's a fine mic.
i have one also!! i'm looking for another one, if you ever want to sell please let me know, thank you!
I have the bridge in my tele. I don't think I like the tone under gain.
@Janne19691 thank you :)
Thank you!
@ghost6392 Yes, two phat cats.
I was thinking Custom 5, Custom Custom, or something "vintage", but bigger volume than Phat Cat.
@paulgaudinjrBCN Hi, i am glad if i was able to help you :)
Mugen No Kaze!!!! that's what happens to me when i eat onions.
Wtf is Tamio okoda? A 1980’s roadie for some Chinese prof rock band?
