When spring rolls around and the snow starts to disappear, folks in Calgary finally come out of their winter hideouts. It's an exciting time of year for everyone in the city. As soon as they emerge, they're looking for something to eat after their long hibernation.
It isn't really a heat wave; this has been the traditional temperature of the Praries for thousands of years, and in the past years, we have been blessed with moderate temperatures. When I was a kid, summers were always in the 30s and 40s from July to September. Being farm kids, we did not stop when it was hot. I generally do not go to the festivals because of eating restrictions; Canada really does not address eating issues and is more apt to just dose you with little care.
