@@cnewman Mmm no? I never seen female characters talking about the issues of being a girl in a world mostly dominated by men (shounen animes) most of them are in love with the mc or just disappear in important arcs. Wait how is "bruh girls are better" misogyny instead of misandry?
@@ThiccBoyChampa i suppose one could argue that it has stuff to do with internalized misogyny cuz it stems from “girls need to be better than boys to feel like they’re worth something” stuff and basically reinforces misogynistic mindsets that unless a girl strives to be better than a man, that means she’s less.
But it’s also misandry cuz it’s trying to put down men to make women feel better so it is sexist all around and a double whammy.
@@pcrassen4975 But no one thinks a woman has to be better than a man to be valued, like even in places with traditional gender roles women are still valued as care givers and an important part of family life and stuff like that. Yep she littarly said to panda "your not cute"
Jujutsu kaisen introduced some seriously impressive character building in a really short time. Every character fits a stereotype of sorts, but most of them are instantly very compelling and organic. The story is not unique or ground-breaking, it's just that the execution is really well done.
Yep. This was my initial thought as well at the start of the series. JJK doesn’t really do anything new and still follows the general shonen tropes that pretty much every shonen does. But while most other series fail by only being the same exact thing in different skin, including the pitfalls like the third wheel female character for love interest purposes trope etc.
JJK actually executes them well and by proxy subverts them. Fushiguro is more interesting than your usual broody introverted rival, Itadori is more talented and smart than your usual goofy extroverted mc, Nobara is actually her own character instead of just existing to be a love interest and can stand on her own without needing the boys and the times she needs them are times when they would also need her because the enemy is way out of all of their league, or there’s more than one enemy. (See: Itadori and Nobara vs the curse brothers).
It’s still the same tropes but so different as a result.
i love how JJK at times doesn't take itself seriously but when it does it goes super deep but finds a way to incorporate something stupid like a squeaky mallet into a fight scene
To be fair she fights a Child a grown Person is always stronger as a child. And do you really think that Kid had survived when she would use her real Hammer?! It May be Humor but its also making sense.

I like to think that in this battle both Nobara and Momo are right, if you've read chapter 138 of jujutsu kaisen you'd understand. The jujutsu world does treat its women unfairly it sometimes places unrealistic expectations on them and they get cut out if they do fail to reach certain standards but Nobara is also right in wanting to stay true to herself and not giving a damn about what others think about her. In my opinion both their perspectives are valid cause, they both have different upbringings and thus completely different ideals.
Momo has seen the way the Zenin clan has treated Mai and Nobara knows that despite Maki's childhood being the same as Mai she still tried to stay true to herself and wants to become the head of the Zenin clan.
These two perspectives can coexist lol

Nobara is truly what it means to be Beautiful, Strong and True to her self!! :D I love her and Maki!!!
I like nobara for she is true to herself and care for those close to her, and will stand up for them. She also said that what nishimiya said for “Mai having the troubles in the past making her life difficult and have to do anything to be strong”, doesn’t make it right either. She used the example of Maki of going through the same thing and doesn’t die something like that. And how they see Yuji , was wrong was willing to fight them and prove them wrong for he is a real being/not a curse and great friend who shouldn’t be looked down on.
It’s a shame that Nobara did have a chance to win this duel, but there is also the factor that nishimiya had to have her focus on protecting her ears from the curse speech, so nobara might have a challenge there, but I still believe nobara could have won that without Mai in the way.
The line at the begining with the piano always gave me goosebumps, that line it's perfect for what Nobara's stand for.

Yeye I've honestly gotten so used to girls being terrible characters in anime that i dont expect anything much from them at this point. When uraraka got that fight against bakugo in season 2 i got really excited, because she was fighting with everything she had for something that was not about a boy. Now though, it seems like all her screentime is devoted to having a crush on deku. Was expecting more of the same stuff from jujutsu kaisen but ended up being very pleasantly surprised. That quote about loving yourself when youre girly and when you're strong was really, really empowering. in western media theres this weird idea that to be a feminist, you have to reject traditional femininity. It's not easy to find girls in western media that are pretty and popular as well as smart and introspective. I don't watch shounen anime to be validated as a girly girl but by god, it sure did happen.
Or take note Kishimoto xD
"Is your entire life just a job?!" Honestly this quote really needs to be talked about more, since it applies to a lot of people. It's easy to forget but we are just conglomerations of chemicals on a floating rock in space at the end of the day; there are no rules, no obligations, no standards, or anything that we *have* to follow. Live in a tent. Start college when you're 40, marry when your 80, have a ballpit at your wedding, who cares! Literally do whatever you want.
Uh no. The point is to define yourself by who you are rather by what you do.
@@MultiCommissar You are what you do. What's the difference?
@@LPSlight0
Then your entire life is just a job, too.
Think about it more deeply a second.
There are rules though and most of them are good ones. It's foolish to think their aren't rules. You probably picked up the wrong message from this scene. It's not about doing whatever you want, it's about having the freedom to love what you have (including yourself) without conforming to outside components, which is the opposite of what the insecure pig tail Hermione on a broom was saying.
If it means there are no rules like you said then sukuna killing women and children shouldn't horrify us but make us celebrate him for just "doing whatever he wants".
But it does make us sick because there ARE good rules and one of those is not murdering people, especially the most precious and vulnerable of society.
Hope that helped to clear up the scene. Animes are far more beautiful when you look in depth 😁.
