We have used the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

Today is July 29, 2024. Jackery offers their old model 1000 for $550 on Amazon and the old model 2000 Pro direct for $999, both great deals if they will suit you. I'd get one or the other except I'm spoiled by using Bluettis, which are delighted to accept anybody's solar panel input without drama. I don't have any use for folding panels as I have fixed panels. Thanks for being the only UA-camr to attempt to connect normal solar panels.

Jackery is an outdoor generator for people who need portable outside power. Their battery have less weight because they use traditional 18650 batteries and not LifePo4 far too heavy and not resistant to sub 0 temp. Jackery works at -10C. The solar saga are very good and solid. From one panel 100w i get 94w. What you say about the panel is wrong. I have a jackery 1000 which have a limited mppt input to 125. So with two panel i get only 125w but there are usb port and i can maximize the panel by charging phone directly with the panel. The jackery 1500 get 337w of charging from the 400w panel (4 x 100w). You don’t go in camping with solid fixed panel. The portable panel are very good for that. Personally i am very happy with my jackery 1000 which runs my 12 v fridge for 5 days without recharging. If i charge 2 hours per day. I could add 250wh in the generator which give me 32h of more fridge usage. So perfect for 4/5 days of camping. My fridge cfx3 use 7.79 per hour at 41F in 77F ambiant temp with the jackery 1000. Charging a iphone take less than 10wh, same for an ipad with the usb, and even 0 if you charge directly with the solar panels. It is very efficient 935wh usable on.1002wh so 93% efficiency. The ratings on jackery product are over 95% satisfied customers. Their product are reliable. Jackery is for outdoor, outlanders and camping. It is not for home stationary backup. For that, a DIY or a flex 1500 with stackable battery or titan would be better

I am glad to hear you've had much better luck with the equipment than I have. If you watch my other Jackery videos you'll see the numbers I was getting. In case you missed it, I did mention in this video that Jackery has improved their panels and are reported to be better. Also in this video, I very clearly mention how much I like the inverter and battery.

    • @CC-gt3ro
      @CC-gt3ro 3 роки тому +1

@@minutemanprep i come back from 3 days camping strip and the jackery 1000 never got below 83% with running my fridge 24/7. And every day i was able to charge it to 100% with only 120w charging because my energy usage (17% per day) is very low with only 12v devices very efficient. One solar saga was capable to charge 90/94w on full sun and 115/119w with two panels. So definitely compatible panel works best for jackery. I was charging at 120w because the explorer 1000 is limited by the internal mppt controller despite 2x100w panels but i was charging two phones simultaneously directly on the panel as well, so i finally used the panel pretty well. Ideally two jackery would be perfect if space and weight was not the problem. Because the logistic is limiting the usage. I had to keep the fridge and jackery in the trunk to not have to move in continuously in the car when we wanted to get out of the camping camp. So we didn’t have the generator close in the tent for fan and other devices. I wanted the generator and fridge in the car to protect them.

I looked at the Jackery 2000 when I wanted to get another unit. I already had the Bluetti AC200P with 3 of their portable solar panels. With Jackery's propriety issues with solar panel connections, I decided not to buy this unit. I bought another AC200P even though it weighs quite a bit more. Good review and it confirms my initial concerns about this unit.

I want to purchase a solar battery and didn’t know which one to purchase. You said you use another kind of battery in your cabinet I’m interested in that. I need this extra power because where I live, the electricity is always going off The grid and I need to run my refrigerators freezers microwaves. The whole works in my house, and I need something really powerful.

I agree with your assessment of the Jackery 1500 and 2000. I purchased the Jackery 1500 (with my own money also) and I find the proprietary input connectors the weakest part of the new Jackerys. I, too, requested the adapter and use Rich Solar panels. It does appear that the MPPT throttles back on the input, and that maybe due to the new Panasonic batteries they decided to use. I have no problems using the A/C input in one jack and solar panels in the other. The MPPT may require a minimum voltage before powering. For your readers, the Jackery 1500 input is limited to 300 for each plug, for a total of 600. Again, I agree with you and happy with the unit other than the change in the 8mm plugs.

If using a single solar panel that has Open circuit voltage of 34.5 volts and voltage of 29v was able to be handled properly. Check out his video with a title of Jackery Explorer 1500

I have the Jackery 500 and it mainly runs the refrigerator in the back of my Jeep and it does it very efficiently in fact some people run their refrigerators for days without needing a recharge but the way I use mine I have never needed to recharge my 500 it works fine. I would say considering the price of the Jackery going over the 500 would be price prohibitive and you would be better off building out your own solar system one that you could expand by adding storage batteries 🔋 and panels to meet power ⚡️ requirements.

My understanding is that the Jackery Explorer 2000 was only scheduled for a one time production run in 2021. I believe that it was only available for pre-order for a few hours, several months ago. Supposedly Jackery will start producing the Explorer 2000 again sometime in 2022.
Currently the Explorer 1500 is the largest unit (1,488 Wh) they have available. Unfortunately the Explorer 1500 also has the proprietary 8mm barrel inputs with thicker center pins. Too bad they didn't just keep the auxiliary Anderson Powerpole connectors like the Explorer 1000 has. I guess this was Jackery's way of selling more of their solar panels. Hope this helps. :)

@@Roblox-er3ds I believe the unit Maureen bought was NOT the Jackery Explorer 2000. The Explorer 2000 has a regular retail price of $2,099 + tax. It also has a battery capacity of 2,060 Wh (watt hours); and a continuous AC inverter max rate of 2,200 watts (20 amps @ 110V AC).
The unit Maureen ordered was a watered down version of the Jackery Explorer 1000 made especially for Home Depot. I noticed that Home Depot is deceptively advertising it as 2,000 PEAK watts. This is technically true, but the continuous AC inverter max rate is only 1,000 watts (9.1 amps @ 110V AC), NOT 2,000 watts. In addition it only has a battery capacity of 880 Wh (watt hours); less than the Explorer 1000. Home Depot is currently selling this watered down (880 Wh) version in California for $799 + tax by itself; or $1,099 + tax for the version including 1 * 100W solar panel.
Check out the Bluetti AC200P for $1,700 on Amazon. It does weigh 61 lbs., but it has 2,000 Wh (watt hours) of (LiFePO4) battery capacity; and a max inverter RATE of 2,000 watts (18.2 amps @ 110V AC). I think it's your best bet until Jackery decides to start producing the Explorer 2000 again. Hope all this helps. :)

They are crap, I have since then bought my Marbero's, and I l love them. Running while charging has been said to wear it out quicker as these aren't set up as a UPS system. So I don't. I have two 1000 watt jackery's for my freezer. Two 500 for my computer,DVD player and other misc. I have three 240's for my phone and lights. I bought extension cords and have my Genny's safe in the rv. I also have a 1200 watt system set up that isn't running right now, can't figure out the problem and haven't been able to get anyone to come out and look at it,so I absolutely love my plug and play units. I also do a lot of cooking with my sun oven. Living offgrid in my airstream I need reliable power and that's what I get with my jackery's.

The reviewer is wrong. From one panel 100w i got 94w. I don’t trust his review.
If you plugsolar saga on jackery 1000/1500/2000 you get very good result. And they are more efficient than bluetti. I have the jackery 1000 and despite the limitation of the generator himself limited to 125w charging, the solar saga panel are delivering very good output. The limitation is coming from the jackery 1000 and not from the panel himself. As i said if i plug one panel i got 94w on the 100 panel which is extremely good. A jackery 1500 charge at 337w with 4 panels of 100w. My jackery 1000 is extremely efficient and runs my dometic 45L fridge 24/7 for 5 days. Try that on the bluetti…

If a manufacturer is producing units like these to capture the market, they have to produce a solid product which works for the majority of users. This, for over $2k, seems to be about form over function and, as you've illustrated, it doesn't operate as it should!
The form is convenient but to force consumers into buying their own Saga panels, is severely limiting Jackery's sales potential and dents their reputation overall.
I'd struggle to build a unit myself (even with all the instructions in available videos) which would simply charge the unit in the southern UK, so I would be interested in finding a ready-made solution but current costs are a big issue for me, otherwise I'd snap-up the Titan.
Thanks for being frustrated on our behalf! Jackery are no amateur in this market and really should produce a unit 'fit for purpose'.

    • @minutemanprep

It's pretty common in the solar industry to force people to stick with a brand. Goal Zero does it, Inergy does it, Jackery does it, and so on. They look at it as if they're "Nike" or "Under Armour" where they want their specific brand plastered on everything. That is why I love the Titan so much because you can use any panel you want and even any external batteries you want.
I agree 100% that these companies should be making units that do what they advertise. But in the solar world, it's so common for companies to get away with not doing what they advertise that it's become the norm. That's why I started my website poweredportablesolar.com/ because I felt like these companies were effectively scamming people. That's why I test this equipment.
Eventually, the Titan will be available in the UK but the demand is SO HIGH here in the USA that it's hard for them to focus on variants.
Thanks for watching and commenting =)

I really appreciate your reviews and the variety of topics you get into. I also think you do a very good job for the most part. However, I think this review on the Jackery 2000 is a bit unfair. Although I can understand your frustration in trying to get your "non-Jackery" solar panels to work properly with this unit, these units are CLEARLY designed by Jackery to work with the Jackery solarsaga panels. These are extremely portable units that are designed to be an "all-in-one" power solution targeting specific niche markets. I don't believe Jackery is trying to compete with the "less than portable" Titan Solar Generator or large stationary solar power systems. Those are completely different beasts! (Apples and oranges) If you were having the same connectivity issues with the newly redesigned solar saga panels rolled out to work specifically with the new 1500w & 2000w units then I would understand the negative review. This is just my two cents while waiting for a review that includes the new Jackery units paired with the new solarsaga panels.

Both companies have been around for a long time. I'm sure that after a while the Jackery will go down in price to stay in the running. For Solar Panels, I bought the 120W FlexSolar panel and sure enough, none of the plugs or cords worked to plug it in. I bought the Jackery extension cord for $39 on Amazon, and it works. Seems like they changed the plug for the 1500 and 2000 which is a real pain the the hemorrhoids! They sent me an email about how they didn't recommend me using other company solar panels and I told them they need to DROP THEIR FREAKING PRICES on solar panels!

15:05 I did get a full 100 watts out of one of my Solar Saga panels into my Jackery 1K, but the 1K can only take in 125 watts with both. My two solar saga 100s pump 150 watts into my Renogy Renegade 40 Amp typically, and I've seen them up to 170 watts.

Titan. 100%. All the way. It's been out nearly 2 years and still nothing has beat it. I've been using it for over a year non-stop at my cabin and it still works. Seriously, nothing beats it: poweredportablesolar.com/shop/

Nice review. Has Jackery contacted you with any information about the solar charging issues? I know very little about electricity so can you tell me why Jackery is using Lithium-ion batteries? It seems Lithium Iron Phosphate is a better choice. What am I missing?

Thanks. Jackery has not reached out at all. Lithium Ion is a good battery and it's much lighter than other options including LiFePo4. So to keep it portable Lithium Ion is a good choice. Once you use a battery of the same capacity but with LiFePo4 cells it get way heavier. LiFePo4 are best for non-portable systems, that or you have to be quite strong to move them around. My Bluetti AC200P has a 2,000wh LiFePo4 battery and it is 65lbs. And that is with only a 2,000w inverter and 700w charge controller inside too. Lithium Ion = Portability. LiFePo4 = Longevity.

How long will it run my 14000Btu window airconditioner on high? The answer to that ? Is all I need to know to make my decision.

Generally speaking, 10% of the BTUs is how many watts it will use while running on high. So it will roughly use about 1,400w while running. The Jackery 2000 will put out about 1,800wh after the battery power goes through the inverter. So all we do is take 1,800wh ÷ 1,400w = 1.3hrs of run time on high.
