How to reline / line jewelry box drawer with velvet or paper.

- Hi everyone, hope you are all well. Decided to make this small video on how I reline my jewelry box drawers. I've searched and there is very little videos out there so I hope this one helps anyone out there that is trying to reline.

I build boxes of all sizes and I had a customer ask me to make a cuff link box. I had no idea how I was going to line the bottom, I wanted to use black velvet. After watching your video I know how I’m going to do it now. Thank you so much for your advice. I was worried about the edges of the velvet fraying over time but wrapping the edges is such a good idea. On my next box like this I’m going to spray mount a tin piece of foam on the cardboard so I can have an extra soft bottom.

hi, maybe I missed it, but when you are gluing in your velvet lining, do you use the double sided tape for that as well?
I have a question as I’ve never relined a JB before. I purchased a roll of velvet and it was the sticky back. So why not peel, place and stick the velvet to the inside of the drawer? Is there any advantage of sticking the velvet to cardboard first? Thank you 😊💙 Edit: I did it! It worked out pretty good to cut the velvet and place directly on the wood. I didn’t even have to bother scrapping off any glue.
Hi, I'm so glad it worked out for you. You can just put the velvet straight on to the wood. I just like how it looks first sticking the velvet on cardboard. So it's just preference. Thank you for your comment 🤗
