I just received my great aunt's beautiful vintage cantilever sewing box from her surviving grandchildren. I am going to do a friction-fit version of this (to prevent permanent alterations to the box). I am so happy I came across this tutorial!
I would love to have seen a Part 2 with the rest of the process and the finished project Samantha! This is so awesome! It helped me a lot! Beautiful work!!! Thank you for sharing!!
as someone who is mechanically minded (engineer) but completely fabric and upholstery illiterate, this was a great help! thanks for such a detailed video
i LOVE your video. You're so real. keep it up, sister! its exactly what I needed to inspire my jewewry drawer project. And OMG at the end! you are so sassy, and you have every right to be!
Great tutorial! This was really useful. Thank you! Would you recommend a stiffer velvet fabric maybe? The fabric you used was rather soft, wondering if it was a stiffer velvet fabric that would have been easier to work with? Can't wait to try this!
It's called foam board. It's basically poster board on the front in the back and it's got some sort of a foam in between the two layers. It's lightweight yet still reasonably strong. As you can see from how she's using it here. And you can even buy this at Dollar Tree if you live in America. I'm also craft stores like Michaels or Jo-Ann's would carry it just ask them for the foam board.

Yay! So glad you find it a useful idea!
Literally so creative! Need some for my plugs and I didn't want to go all the way to home depot to get wood cut this is so much easier and prettier
Well this really looks wonderful. And it's so adaptable for us to make it the way we would want it. I think you'd make a cool friend!

I am thinking of doing this too and I am torn between mohair which would have more body or using a silk fabric which would be softer.
@@Kaththee be sure to test both the hot gun glue and the Elmer's Glue on any fabric before purchasing a large amount. Or starting your project!
So beautiful!
It’s very chic and practical
If possible pls share the link to purchase the velvet cloth used in this video

What is the black board that you are making the dividers made of?
