Well all white people look the same, same with all brown and yellow skinned people. Because we don't see a lot of it, they tend to look really similar. Some Asian people think all white people look the same, and vice versa... because it's true. We see the small differences if we are around it a lot, but others wont see those differences.

This happens to me ALL THE TIME. People try to guess where my ancestors are from and end up just guessing Chinese, Japanese, or Korean. But after they ask why don't I have Asian eyes? Wtf? 1. I'm not just Chinese I'm also Cambodian, Thai, Laos, Vietnamese, alittle Indian, Scandinavian, Bristish, Italian, and Irish and German. They never guess those. But always ask even if I say no if I'm Hispanic or Native American. I am but not enough to actually count so, my life is hella confusing.

If you're asian you were probably asked "Are you chinese?" From an American or European. I tell them that I'm Japanese next day and I get asked "are you chinese? You're chinese right?" From the same guy or girl who I told them i was japanese earlier. It takes a while, but after a few years with a close friend they finally understand that you are not chinese.
We once had this new guy in class, and he asked me if I was Korean or Japanese. I then answered no, and he said “so, Chinese?”. Then I said I was Thai, and he asked me what his name was in Thai. Then I said it’s still the same, and he asks if I can say a few words in Thai, and I tell him I can’t speak Thai, and he says “but then you’re not Thai”. And whenever I’m in libraries, there’s gonna be Chinese tourists coming to me and speak Chinese to me.

Yeah, that happens to me a lot too. I don't try telling them that there are multiple dialects for this very reason. I think that they're referring to Mandarin because that's what people view as the most common dialect

Literally the worst thing is when people ask you to say something in your language. It's uncomfortable, awkward and it makes people feel like some sort of freak that's source of amusement. And when you finally do tell them a word or a phrase, they say it everytime you see them in an offensive accent.
I know the feeling. I'm Indian and so many people try to do Indian accents because "it's funny" like, how about you speak my language with no Indian accent and I can be the one who gets amused this time.
Also the generalisation that all Asians are smart is not always the case... We have to work our butts off to be smart, like everyone else, and most parents usually pressure us to get the best grade to become doctors or whatever (that part is mostly true)

I think nowadays when people refer to minorities they're referring to 1) A group of people that is not the majority of the population in that particular country or 2) A group of people that is not widely represented in politics, media, etc. in that country.
Well honestly I consider that last one to be bull. That's my two cents on it Also, the first one, the US I believe has less Caucasians than "colored" races. That's where I live and that's why I have a problem with the whole, "whites being the majority" thing. If you live somewhere that is mostly populated with Caucasians, good for you. This happens to me ALL THE TIME. People try to guess where my ancestors are from and end up just guessing Chinese, Japanese, or Korean. But after they ask why don't I have Asian eyes? Wtf? 1. Literally the worst thing is when people ask you to say something in your language.
It's uncomfortable, awkward and it makes people feel like some sort of freak that's source of amusement.
And when you finally do tell them a word or a phrase, they say it everytime you see them in an offensive accent.
I know the feeling. I'm Indian and so many people try to do Indian accents because "it's funny" like, how about you speak my language with no Indian accent and I can be the one who gets amused this time.
