    It is a great master class ... I see in these days most dancers start the song, continue and end the song in same rythm with same figures ... BADDDD;,,,,, each kind of cuban rythm has its particular time and moves ... In the extreme, I saw people dancing regaetton song with lineal salsa figures ... ayayayyyyyy ... I understood them... surely they were not latino people... Then, that is why this kind of classes are important for every body and more for them

    This is an awesome speech! I'd have to disagree with Rodrigo on one point. Personally, I find that the montuno is really great for going all out with turns and patterns, whereas the mambo is better for breaking out into shines/footwork. I mean, the band REALLY starts to cook during montunos, and it's so much fun to channel that momentum with full-throttle partner work. Besides that, the montuno is often the longest section of the song; if you break out into shines and footwork at that time then you end up essentially dancing by yourself for two and a half minutes. To each their own, though! That's the great thing about musicality.

      The montuno is normally broken up into two parts... Mambo and solo... The mambo portion you will go all out but the solo portion "should be" for shines. At the end of the day this is just a guide to help people "connect" with the music. You will all dance it the way you feel which is what gives it such power. The ability to interpret your own way. As long as you stay connected with that and your partner, it's all good.

      Tom Leslie i agree . Partner work with mambo is doable but just really really right steps to stay on count . Footwork is better .

    What a great Workshop! But what do you mean "even Kizomba"? Don't judge Kizomba from what you can see on YT nowadays. Look at the true Kizomba and it's roots, the same as you talk about Salsa from Kuba and you will even find similarities.

    Por que habla de son y no suelta pasos de son ?, siempre mantiene el estilo liniero

    • @Jorge857
      @Jorge857 4 роки тому +1

      Porque la palabra "son" tiene varios significados:
      1) el género musical
      2) el baile
      3) una sección de una canción
      Él está hablando de la sección de la canción.

    It’s not Africa even though black ppl are the one ms who perform this music. Why? Bc Africans didn’t arrive to Cuba playing Son. It’s like saying that Rap music is African just bc blacks in USA are playing it. Cuban Son is Cuban; that’s it.

    L'ambiente della salsa sta divendando una focina di pagliacci e dico pagliacci perche voglio essere educato essere maestri di ballo e un altra cosa la lezione deve essere un momento dove l allievo è protagonista e il maestro è a sua disposizione per far si che l allievo migliori il suo livello di ballo e di cultura in questo video si vede un pagliaccio che fa un concerto e si mette in mostra come un pavone tra l altro dicendo anche svariate cazzate l allievo in questo caso non imparera niente ma sara solo spettatore
