- I left three valuable items in public to be stolen, all with Apple's new AirTag attached to them. My bike, my wallet and the keys to my Mercedes.

Imagine leaving two push bikes in two different locations for hours on end, and still not being able to get them stolen. Germany is officially the place to live

Japan is also good for this. My friends hardly ever lock their bicycles. (Maybe don't do that in tokyo though)

In Peru I got my bike stolen from INSIDE my house
He should have parked his bike at Karlsruhe main station to have it stolen within 10 seconds

@@MegaLag I think a pretty German thing you could've done would've been to print out letters explaining your situation about your lost keys, tell them that if they have your keys they should call you and put them in the post box of all the residents that live in the apartment you thought your airtags were in :)
@@chgeri2232 but please add in a reward - people may refuse to take the reward "because they found the key in a bush and it is no big deal to call a tourist and sending it by mail" (may or may not be a lie, but go a long happily to get the airtag back), but offering a reward makes it sound more legit.
One trick in more preparation would be to add a plushie (with a small, but clear modification to make it unique) and say that the plushie has meaning to you (which it has - it made a trip trough germany and thus story).
The plushie is worthless to anyone but you, so even if the "car key" got "lost", you could play happy that you got your plushie and airtag back and send over a bottle of wine/beer/candy as a thanks in return.
Also adding a file "if found return to ... or contact ..." to the USB-Stick could help.

@@chaschuky999 how the hell is it undersubbed... He made 1 video, it's been 3 weeks, and he got 1.6K subs. That is VERY good for a completely new UA-camr. His production quality is good and his execution was great, this is EXACTLY how much reward he should get.
I think after seeing Dream's ridiculous levels of growth, people started thinking that UA-camrs just "suddenly" get tens of thousands of subs per week.. That's not how it works unless it's some kind of extremely viral and popular subject (for example, short Minecraft videos).
@@EojinsReviews Lmao I've watched youtube for a very long time and seen it happen many times (ex: dangelo wallace, micheal reeves, william osman). The quality of his content is very good, theres some stuff that can be polished but for his first video it's very remarkable. If the content is high quality and consistent people will sub.

Be careful with the expired ID. some stuff like document ID don't change on a renewal, and have to be requested to change.
I thought the same thing. Some countries ask you to list all "lost and stolen" identification documents as part of the migration process (even as a tourist). Lying on that form could end in a surprise.
Some countries make it scaringly easy to exchange ID documents.
(let alone countries that do not regularly issue ID to its own citizens like england/wales/scotland - which is funny when all foreigners need ID, but citizens do not. America is also odd in that regard, as the typical ID is a drivers license [which not everybody has], which may or may not contain nationality [depending in state])
I like how I clicked on this video for some airtag testing, and got a video of a non German "discovering" Germany. As a German this is holarious

Precision tracking is one of the most important points of the airtag. I hope to see a follow up on this going through the precision tracking feature in real world scenarios!

No surprise about the DB Verspätung. That they took care of you without further charge is a surprise indeed.
I hate traveling with DB because of the Verspaetungen but CFR isn't any better either...
I think being a friendly, confused and broke foreigner helps. The most important part is being friendly. The staff has some possibilities and the friendlier you are and the more you are to the point of what you want/need and the more it is in line with what they can do, the more likely they can help you.

when I visited Germany I feel in love with just how nice everyone is there. I worked at a hotel back in the US. When I came back to work. A Germany couple came stay one night. I mention how I just visited Germany a month ago. They were so happy that I got to visit. They came back later that night towards the end of my shift and bought me Germany beer from Bevmo that they said is extremely popular in Germany.
What an interesting thing this airtag is! Maybe if I was as dizzy as I was when I was younger it would have been great to have one attached to my valuable things. Now, when I keep less things with me when I'm away, I don't need it and I find it more of a problem than something useful.

For everyone being impressed that bikes don't get stolen in Germany:
In Cyprus we leave the car keys on, the engine running, and like go to the bakery for 5-10mins and everything is fine.
That was one of the best airtag videos I have seen I look forward to seen more like this. Maybe you can borrow an iPhone 12 lr 12 and do this again. That would have been cool to see if you got your keys back.
