@@TwistedHighTo be fair to Marquez, he’s the go-to guy for people that are less tech oriented. He saves the technical jargon and other details for his podcast with his employees.
The biggest issue with this is that Apple is way less forgiving of third party products than the likes of Facebook. When I first got my Quest 2 I felt exactly the same regarding discomfort - but having upgraded to a highly-recommended third party strap, I can comfortably go 8 hours or more with it strapped to my face. Any time I'm working from home, I just throw on my Quest and I'm sitting in a ship in orbit surrounded by 4 floating screens - one of which is my code. Sure I need my laptop still sat on my lap to do so, but working in a multi-monitor environment with the only wires being the one plugged into my laptop for power (because gaming laptops suck back battery like nothing else) - it really does do the thing you described where you're just "working in another world".
I listened to it without headphones, while my family was in the other room. I jumpscared and immediately hit the mute button and tried to find the open ph tab that I thought must have somehow started playing. Then slowly pieced together what must have happened after no other usually following sounds came after that intro 😄
This is actually a good question. I would presume the VisionPro had a colorblind mode. That would not "fix" colorblindness obviously, but should help the viewer differentiate the different colors in the apps etc. At least most games do include this kind of feature.
It is impressive actually. You’re talking about satellites traveling 15k+ mph attempting to align a hairpin laser on a moving target traveling 500+ mph in either the same direction or the opposite direction without skipping a beat. All the while carrying enough bandwidth for upwards of 200 passengers presumably all trying to do the same thing. So, yes, very impressive. Technology is incredible.
Just imagine people on planes, buses, etc thinking they’re in a private environment in their Vision Pro and forgetting the speakers are still audible. 😅
I used to get that feeling a lot on the Quest models, like an exponentially more uncomfortable feeling of having it on your face, third party attachments allow me to code for 12+ hours very comfortably, and I no longer get that "HOLY SHIT GET THIS OFF OF MY FACE" feeling that I'd get

I had the same sort of issue with some really expensive ear buds I got on sale. I couldn't wear them for more than 30 or 45 minutes before my ears hurt. I returned them within a week. Had they been comfortable, they'd have been a great deal but they weren't.
Hey man, great video. I've seen a significant number of people on twitter originally say they had discomfort but went back to try on a different sized light seal, and that that fixed things for them straight away. Some people will also have different experiences to others regardless too. But maybe worth trying a different seal given you're within the 14 day return period? Another suggestion I've seen is to use the solo band but instead of having the band straight back in line with the actual headset, instead tilt it to a 45 degree angle so that it's resting further up the back of your head. Keen to see if this improves things.
I like how you haven't tested other VR headset and think the Vision has bad enough passthrough and felt that watching movies was so incredible. Very crude experience. Really shows how the tech is not ready even though is the best (and most expensive) on the market, yet have so much potencial for the near future
@@Basssiiie thats not how tax write offs work. You still pay 3.5k to buy it then the buisness just doesnt pay business tax on that $3.5k later in the year. Saving you tax owed not upfront cost.
Your opinion is kinda moot if you haven’t tried other headsets right? The things you are impressed by (like, being transported to a more spacious place and watching 3D movies) - they all accomplish that.
Honestly my issue with VR (apart from the fact that your milage is going to vary depending on how your vision is) is the fact that headsets seem needlessly clunky. Get a headset to about half the width of what it is right now, and I'd probably be more invested in it.
Have you used no other VR headset for productivity? So many of the reviews of this are from people who've literally never looked at virtual desktop or similar options that literally do. this. exactly all of this.
2:46 this statement is 100% true, its impossible to describe the feeling to be that immersed. I tried a demo at the Apple store and my mind was blown. I ended up buying a Quest 3 because i dont ever buy Gen 1 products especially from Apple where Gen 1 is just the dev kit
Hm, I actually think the previous video thumbnail was better. Hope this video gets the attention it deserves! The Vision Pro is a fascinating product, but I really have no temptation to own one. I'm comfortably a late adopter to most things. Thanks for showing us a glimpse of the future though!
This was the only use case I was actually interested in. I fly only once per year maximum, so it is not worth it, but nevertheless the possibility of this was intruiging. Also watching that Rüfüs Du Sol set is a quality choice, shot so beautifully!
Yeah doing it with crappy resolution lol finally have something with 4k. Makes the experience so much better tbh. Happy apple is in the space and can do it right.
I've had mine since launch and the first couple days can take some getting used to. I have worn it now for 3-4 hours for a movie. Taking a break is always nice and a good idea. But it isn't as uncomfortable as a lot of people talk about. Wear it daily for at least an hour or so... no issues.
im wondering about the choice of enviroments that it puts one in, like is one able to feel safe in a open place like that even when its fake? for me it would be more cosy in a warmer place than on a mountain.
Fun fact: other vr headsets dont have the pain problem on your face because there is a third strap above your head. Apple simply did not add it because they did not like the look.
I'd say a better option would be the quest 3 with a third party battery stap, since the third party batty strap gives many more support points on your head preventing that discomfort from setting in for much longer, plus the battery on the back gives better weight distribution while also giving you 2 extra hours of battery life, although I doubt you could wear it for 4 hours in one go, but 2 hours is very doable .
I can wear the dual loop for 4-5 hours - but the trick I learned is first fastening the back loop, keeping the headset a little higher over your eyes then fastening the top strap. I've gotten some pretty perfectly balanced fits, before that I was fastening it too tight and it would put the pressure on the head or cheeks. That's what I'm guessing happened to you
This is a similar to the feedbacks I have heard so far for VR/AR headsets. And personally, I feel the same. What I wonder though, how long does it take to get used to it? If you use such a headset regularly, will your head get used to it? Will you be able to wear it for longer? I can imagine a future where these things are common because everyone uses them from a young age and the body simply gets used to it. I just don't know if that's really possible.
Have you tried it with the new ultra wide view of the virtual display. I brought it on my Christmas vacation and using it to work. Took me a bit to get the distance and size right but its working good. I prefer my three display setup at my house but working well for on the go. Not exactly the smallest device to travel with but much smaller than a few monitors.
They named this "pro" for a reason. Eventually there will be a non-pro version, and even an SE variant. Today, the product is an expensive toy for some, but for industry, it is dirt cheap for the features you get.
It costs a lot to manufacture, the price is justified when it’s a first generation Apple device that has a brand new os plus also does everything better than other headsets besides gaming and fov
Pre downloaded on Disney+ but i could have just streamed it. I was able to stream other 3D movies without issue. So good on delta for proving a really decent in flight wifi
The windows being tilted like all of yours in your screen shots is something that I see on my AVP and that really bugs me as it is distracting and a waste of time trying to arrange them so they are straight with the horizon when looking straight at the window.
The only real new thing apple ~~brang~~ brought to the table of vr: People are actually dare to wear a vr headset in public, because its a sort of status symbol. I feel like my generation will live in the future and be bugged abt "the youth just hanging in their vr/xr headset/glasses" like boomers are annoyed by mobile phones
It’s great for watching movies on an airplane. It’s hit or miss on the comfort. Sometimes I can wear it fine for two hours and others it bothers me after 30 minutes. I did make the peace sign with my fingers and used them as a tripod to help prop up the headset off my nose. Hopefully some 3rd party head strap solutions will come out soon.
I flew from JFK to HNL non-stop in coach. Easiest 11 hours i have ever flown. Flight didn't have wi-fi so I had downloaded everything in advance. I guess I am one of the lucky people that can wear this thing with the single loop band for multiple hours with no discomfort.
I'm sure you need to try Pico 4 VR headset as alternative, this thing have better weight distribution than apple vr and all meta quest lineup because screen and battery parts are separate (your battery is on the back strap so it's more like 60/40 weight distribution and not 95/5 with a huge leverage). Much more comfortable gadget for longer use periods.
I tested several different VR headsets, and eventually decided to buy my own. I have a Quest 2. Cool novelty toy, but nothing more at the moment. It does have uses beyond entertainment, but the layperson will probably never come across a situation where they would need a VR headset for anything practical. It's a tool for escapism and killing time, and that's basically it. Until VR headsets drastically reduce in size, reach a more affordable price tag and seamlessly merge the real world with augmented features, I doubt anyone would find them useful beyond that scope. Personally, I'm willing to invest as much money on a VR headset as I would on a handheld console, say 300 bucks tops. Each of us might have their own price in mind, but to pay 3500 quid for a slightly improved experience over your typical set is quite a bit overbudget for me (and I would assume that goes for 99% of the consumer base).
Imagine if the only use for these Vision Pros is for airlines to incorporate them in their planes to make flights more accessible for people with fears with the addition of better entertainment for regular flyers 😂
Having worked for a company that sold Inflight Entertainment Systems, I can tell you now, it WOULD be cheaper to give each passenger an AVP, the cost of the screens, even in economy exceed what the AVP costs.
Airlines should just redesign all their airplanes to hold hundreds of human sized -coffins- capsules and buy a bunch of VR headsets to strap on everyone's faces for the flight 😂
Can i recommend the Xreal Air 2 Pro? Fraction of the cost, use it to watch movies and not look like a dork at the same time. Absolute comfort for hours!
@@isaac_marcusThe Vision Pro uses what's called foveated rendering. That means it tracks your eyes and only renders the exact bit you're looking at in full detail. It can leave the rest blurry because your vision isn't that sharp there anyway. The advantage is that the processor doesn't need to render as many pixels, and the tracking is good enough that you don't notice it when you're wearing the headset.
Provided this does well enough as a product I would hope that it will get lighter and be less of a burden to wear long term. It will be interesting to see where this goes in 5 years time.
Guess watching all three extended editions of Lord of the Rings is not going to be comfortable then. This is the best review I've seen about the device so far, thanks
I really appreciate my quest 3 3rd party head strap I can play for 2 hours before needing a break and usually that’s for my eyes than head discomfort. Hopefully someone will design a halo strap or a padded elite style strap l it will make the Apple Vision Pro even more of a gamechanger

I love when all the content creators claim to not be rich then all go out and buy a $3.5k device.
They can write it off as a business expense which makes it a lot more affordable
@@Basssiiie thats not how tax write offs work. You still pay 3.5k to buy it then the buisness just doesnt pay business tax on that $3.5k later in the year. Saving you tax owed not upfront cost.
@@TheJttvYeah a lot of people don’t understand how tax write-offs work and think it’s free money lol. Schitt’s creek had a funny scene about this.
@@Basssiiie explain how you think that works
@@TheJttv I think he meant something else by that. To write something off can mean to say that it doesn't count.
Your opinion is kinda moot if you haven’t tried other headsets right?
The things you are impressed by (like, being transported to a more spacious place and watching 3D movies) - they all accomplish that.
I've seen a lot of people saying the quest pro and quest 3 don't compare to the vision pro at all. They are made for different purposes.
I actually enjoy watching slightly unhinged content (especially plane crash documentaries) on the plane to make people think I'm crazy
Babe wake up megalag posted
It could have been a good idea to do that because, the comfort = time/how long you have it on for.
Honestly my issue with VR (apart from the fact that your milage is going to vary depending on how your vision is) is the fact that headsets seem needlessly clunky. Get a headset to about half the width of what it is right now, and I'd probably be more invested in it.
Check out the bigscreen beyond then
Check out the bigscreen beyond then
Idk about apple but you can get prescription lenses on the quest headsets
Musstest du die Brille beim Zoll anmelden und Steuer nachzahlen?
Just gotta say that it’s awesome how your intro updates the subscriber count
*Are the immersive environments 3D renders or made using real photos like photogrammetry?*
It’s a combination of photogrammetry, imagery, and handmade stuff
Do you keep an AirTag with your Vision Pro?
Hope he sends the Vision Pro to North Korea next time using DHL
wdym?
This was the only use case I was actually interested in. I fly only once per year maximum, so it is not worth it, but nevertheless the possibility of this was intruiging. Also watching that
Rüfüs Du Sol set is a quality choice, shot so beautifully!
Love that live performance. Mixes real well with the Joshua tree immersive environment
Shoutout to those of us who’ve been doing most of this on flights since 2018.
Oh and other VR headsets can handle multiple screens loool
The face mask is sooo annoying, the magnets are not nearly strong enough
Did you have to pay import sales tax (19% Einfuhrumsatzsteuer) on your return trip to Germany?
2:00 When YOU are getting people's reactions.... Is APPLE getting people's reactions? WHOA.
What storage size did you buy for your 8hrs flight?
3D in all VR headsets is just generally great. Because you actually have stereoscopic vision, with slightly different images being sent to each eye.
I’m not gonna lie, bro. It is so funny you play that sound. It took me having to rewind it to catch that joke. That is so funny.
5:22 realest question ever asked in the history of the internet! 👌🏼
That's what I'm guessing happened to you
Can't wait to buy a lighter, more immersive, more comfortable one for less than 2 grand a couple more years later.
that will be 1,999usd starting price
5:10 I flew Delta JFK-FRA and back last year. How did you get streaming working? (yes i know aircraft types are different but still)
5:24 sir.... you have just awoken a demon in me just by saying this sentence and I'm scared now.
In all seriousness, VR porn does not work on the Vision Pro because it does not support the WebXR standard.
I just don't know if that's really possible.
very immersive 💀
I appreciate the honesty in your searches lol. Cool video!
I’m sure some airlines will start to ban the use of these due to health & safety.
5:24 😂😂😂😂 nice one bro.
The price is ridiculous
They named this "pro" for a reason. Eventually there will be a non-pro version, and even an SE variant. Today, the product is an expensive toy for some, but for industry, it is dirt cheap for the features you get.
@@UnCoolDadOnly when the apps for said industry get added
It costs a lot to manufacture, the price is justified when it’s a first generation Apple device that has a brand new os plus also does everything better than other headsets besides gaming and fov
@@cfs0228 We should note that gaming is the primary usage for VR headsets and that fov is one of the most important features of a VR headset
@@Orrinn123 added where? You won't find these apps on the App Store.
Did you download the movie to the AVP via the Disney+ app or was it purchased from iTunes/Apple TV?
Pre downloaded on Disney+ but i could have just streamed it. I was able to stream other 3D movies without issue. So good on delta for proving a really decent in flight wifi
@@MegaLag That’s surprisingly good Wi-Fi! Do you know if D+ on AVP offers downloads in 4K for offline viewing?
@@wojtekpietrusiewiczit doesnt say which is annoying! But the file size was 23gb so I’d say it was 4k 😅
@@MegaLag Cheers!
Anothe banger video from MegaLag! Absolutely enjoyed it.
I feel like my generation will live in the future and be bugged abt "the youth just hanging in their vr/xr headset/glasses" like boomers are annoyed by mobile phones
brought
I see almost no difference between using a phone in public or some sort of xr glasses. It's just a different interface.
Brang is a vibe
ah dang it, not native english speaker but i try to remember this one in the future@@doctorduck2000
Flew to Madagascar and back and used my AVP probably 90% of my time. Nearly 48 hours total in the air. Wouldn’t fly without it.
Im curious how can this device work for you if you have prescription glasses?
there are prescription lenses as an option, watch a proper technical review
I flew from JFK to HNL non-stop in coach. Easiest 11 hours i have ever flown. Flight didn't have wi-fi so I had downloaded everything in advance. I guess I am one of the lucky people that can wear this thing with the single loop band for multiple hours with no discomfort.
Sounds like vr with apple pricing.
@MegaLag what a man of culture your are, listening to the Rufus du Sol live set is one of the best live sets I've ever seen in my life
Rufus is amazing 💙

Great review. Hopefully confort and price get better in the future with new revisions.
@@evertondel wow. Those screens kinda suck too lol. You can put in a good word then
Have been in love with your videos since the airtag experiments, keep up the good work
Airlines should just redesign all their airplanes to hold hundreds of human sized -coffins- capsules and buy a bunch of VR headsets to strap on everyone's faces for the flight 😂
1 year on, how often do you use this product?
But did he Pay Import Customs / Taxes on it. Thats the real Question here!
I would love to put you on a Ryanair flight.
Can i recommend the Xreal Air 2 Pro? Fraction of the cost, use it to watch movies and not look like a dork at the same time. Absolute comfort for hours!
Now I'll have to try it dang it
How did you get your glasses prescription as a non us resident?
I couldn’t :/ but my vision isn’t that bad. I’m slightly short sighted and have astigmatism in both eyes
@@MegaLag Maybe this was a joke, but could that be why the passthrough was blurry/noisy? Or should that not be an issue/you were wearing contacts?
@@isaac_marcusThe Vision Pro uses what's called foveated rendering. That means it tracks your eyes and only renders the exact bit you're looking at in full detail. It can leave the rest blurry because your vision isn't that sharp there anyway. The advantage is that the processor doesn't need to render as many pixels, and the tracking is good enough that you don't notice it when you're wearing the headset.
This Video just showed that even the most expensive gear can make economy comfortable
Honestly, anyone who thinks VR work environments are gonna be a thing is kidding themselves. It’s just not gonna happen.
This is what a real end user review should always be , I spilled my coffee when that particular theme came up 😂😂😂😂
🤣
Provided this does well enough as a product I would hope that it will get lighter and be less of a burden to wear long term. It will be interesting to see where this goes in 5 years time.
Guess watching all three extended editions of Lord of the Rings is not going to be comfortable then. This is the best review I've seen about the device so far, thanks
Can't wait for the future when talking to the person next to you on the flight will be met with anger cause "Im watching muh avatar 3D"
1:38 "besides looking like a moron" 😂
I really appreciate my quest 3 3rd party head strap I can play for 2 hours before needing a break and usually that’s for my eyes than head discomfort. Hopefully someone will design a halo strap or a padded elite style strap l it will make the Apple Vision Pro even more of a gamechanger
