Agreed...it's okay of you cry. Like, crying for the way beauty makes us feel, is healing. I'm an atheist and I think science shows that human empathy is healthy as can be, and one of the fundamental foundations of empathy is being moved by the world around us.

This was the same arrangement they used for Sesame Street's "Sad Flower" segment Such a pretty piece that brings so many emotions. When you introduce this beautiful music to young children who remember it to this day you have done great justice to Vivaldi one of my favorite Classical Virtuosos of all time.

I heard this song on Sesame Street in about 1979 or 1980 and, like you, searched for it ever since. Tonight I have found it again. I can't describe the effect on me. Things I haven't felt or thought about in so many years. So much that I thought had forgotten, but they're still there. Trivial things that aren't so trivial- the pattern of the linoleum, or a particular toy...amazing.

I heard this song in 1976 as a child watching the summer Olympics. For 34 years, I’ve passionately searched for it in hopes of hearing it again.
Tonight I stumbled across a list of classical-guitar pieces I didn't know, then found this page on UA-cam -- and I began to openly weep as the song I had sought all my life came pouring so beautifully into my heart and soul.
The tears of joy didn't stop until long after the last notes faded away. Thank you so very, very much for posting this piece.

The Sesame Street piece is still my favorite version of this song. I remember seeing it as far back as I can remember anything. I was born right after SS started and this was in the first season of the show. I saw it several years ago on a station that started running SS from the very beginning (Big Bird didn't have feathers on top of his head yet!). Still kills me every time I hear it. It's the very reason I started playing classical guitar. It was also in Ghost Story among others.

Vivaldi, Bach, Handel...those guys knew what the hell they were doing. Unbelievable composition. Then along come Mozart and Beethoven and change everything (just as ingeniously)...but the baroque era I just dig soo much!

Quite honestly, you have no right to criticize Les Paul. He's a legend and his contribution to jazz/rock/blues was invaluable-Don't go off and be some music snob when you're all so blinded by your inability to even respect other genres of music.
Sure, blues or rock will never have the finesse or complicated structure of most classical pieces-but it holds it own beauty in it's simplicity and raw emotion. I love my share of Vivaldi and especially Haydn, but my love for blues is just as great...
