Series idea, Hidden Hordes, im not sure if this is possible but basically have horde nights happen at random, turn off horde day warning on clock. So ur only indicator for horde night is the first strike of lightning and the red sky as it get later in the day. It could make an interesting series, to constantly be worrying about whether or not u have to face a horde each day. It might be possible through mods if any modder would be willing to make it happen. But its just an idea for now. But keep up the great work Glock

@@michaelvial125 i just think it has the potential for an interesting series. for example if he wants too get resources he needs to be careful about time management, cuz if he gets caught out late and its an unexpected horde night then he could be forced to fight the horde wherever he may be. And he could always add some other setback to make it harder on himself if he wants a new challenge
I like this idea. Could set it to horde every 3 nights but set the window to +/- 3 nights.
Better idea would be horde every day but at random time for 6 hours or maybe every 1-3 days so it would be even more random
I both like the challenge and have anxiety...what could possibly go wrong?

Happened to me too trying to use the prison as a base, on Blood Moon there are spawn inside the walls, you cant even avoid it using a claim block. If you will stay, do not fight on ground level.
Hope he sees this. Unless he plants to make plate blocks for the entire floor, it's just not feasible to stay on the ground

I think horde night spawn range is 30 blocks from the player, so yeah possibly the Prison is too large. Though I'd have expected more than one having done that, if that was the case
On our prison made horde base they spawned inside the prison with us.
I had to build a base essentially inside the prison for single player.

... There was a Fetch that was only like 200m away, it hurt me when he didn't grab it for a quick complete before dealing with the "far" ones.
You might have to place a new floor in your base, Z's won't spawn on player-placed blocks.

Best youtuber covering this game imo. On one of his other series. Think it was a horde every night he jumped out of a door on the 2nd floor of his base during a horde night. Fought the horde on foot. Anyone else would of stayed at base and waited it out. He survived too.
hi there glock! had an idea of making a series with basic materials and seeing how far you can go! bases can't be upgraded to more than cobblestone! mechanical tools can be used! only bows and crossbows and blunderbuss can be used! This will make you step out of the comfort zone of always going back to shotguns or aks. the explosive bolts or burning arrows aren't great but thats what will make it very challenging! Id also like to see a gigantic base that will lead zombies around different choke points since the base won't be fully upgraded.

I could be way off but I've noticed that natural ground will allow spawns even with a land claim. I had a base that I built a "courtyard" in and had to remove it because the zombies were spawning on the dirt. There is a lot of natural ground in the prison, if you're up to it throwing down any kind of block over it could change your issue.

This fits into something I ran into. I had done some light fortification and was testing the prison as a horde base. I ran into the same problem as Glock, but hadn't put down a claim block as I was just trying it out. So yeah, ran into the same phenomena.

Great to see 2exp or so. Rescently I have used 3x, just to speed things up.
If you isnt try hard, I also do 3x block damage and zombies reduced block damage. I hate how zombies just eat blocks so easily.
A bit cheezy, but then I can do fist weapons only and other fun stuff
the first house you loot after jen is a good house for books there is a chance for 8 in the living room and 6 more in the room next to that. so upto 14 book cases with books in them.

My husband and I almost always use the prison as a base when there's one in our world and yes zombies will spawn inside due to the large open space. We usually have to be on opposite sides to keep spawns out, but even with higher level hordes we still get a few here and there. Usually with 3 ppl it completely prevents spawns inside as long as everyone is at a different end of the poi.
that makes this PIO really really bad as a horde base... imagine you killing the herd, and suddenly theres 2 radiated bloaters wacking u in ur back you stuck and die
I and my friends have done the same and every horde night we got spawns and that was usually around 5 of us. the only way to stop them spawning during horde night is to replace every ground block with you own but thankfully its only sand a dirt you have to dig up and replace.
I built stairs up to the walls. Spikes around the base of them. I can stand on the walls watching them go up and into the spikes.🤪

I don't think they spawned in, I think where you were at during the horde night with the angled "roof" blocks they piled on top of each other and were able to jump up on that little roof area and then jump up to the catwalk and drop in.

this might help for the random zombie spawn in base. put land claim block in ground more. few playthrus me and a buddy got randomly attacked by a zombie when we used the prison as a base (he hate building own) so we tried burying it if not gonna go higher than watchtower and it helped somewhat. a few glitched through but none actually spawned in from what we knew

If I may make a suggestion, you can put hatches in the walls as stairs, when closed the zombies shouldn't be able to climb. It works both from inside and outside.

The zombies also respawn on horde night inside the cemetery no matter where you put your land claim block. Luckily though, they only spawn outside/above ground and not in the crypt below.

Beds stop zombie spawning(regardless of horde night). land claim stop zombie respawn. Bed radius is tiny though (if I recall like 6 blocks or something). if u want u can tweak game settings to increase land claim radius, and u can use config files to increase bed radius.
It's possible the zombies stacked up and that guy jumped in. I've had it happen.

Maybe set up a horde killing area in the yard and man it before horde night starts. It might cut the horde spawning inside because you will be equidistant from the towers.
Not completely sure about the spawning part; can you check next horde with a sleeping bag also?

That chicken kill though bro, lol... On POINT! Also, never understood why they have the tools stats like that between a high tier stone tool to a low tier iron/steel tool. Pretty much makes the first 3 tiers of Iron/Steel tools useless. All they do is use up more stamina and have a lower dps ratio compared to the high tier stone. I still have my lvl 6 Stone Shovel, and have scrapped several iron ones over it... They need to rebalance the system in my opinion...
