Or maybe each horde get another job for a different random poi, gives the idea a little more variety. If he gets overwhelmed he could be allowed to fall back to previous bases.

I agree about the no-trader play-through. It’ll just lead to ammo grinding.
I said this many times, crafting and trader makes the game EXTREMELY easy once you get the snowball rolling. He should do a series where all supplies and food must be found through POIs and only POIs. I always see him complain about the game being easy but never removes the things that is making it easy.
For example watching Skippy's playthrough of darkness falls and he has so much shit the game is downright easy. He doesn't even go looting cause he just crafts 6000 things in a second.
So... PoI's give everything. But are limited and are a risk. Also consume ammo if you choose to use it. That way he has the challenge of limited resources if he manages it poorly and by late game if he's still alive he wont be overpowered and not bored of the series.
@@andrewosier614 How is it not ideal? He does his favourite thing of looting POI's, he has to manage his resources a lot more, and has to worry about when to use ammo and when to save the little coin you find for vending machines and the limited cans of food you find, or looting places specifically for guns or food etc. And if hes still alive by late game, he's not bitching its too easy because he is balanced by the fact hes not just dumping everything into the trader and has more spare coin and ammo then he should.... By like episode 35 of this series he'll be bored. Or feel too overpowered. He doesn't have to manage ammo because the trader just restocks it for him, and hunts so much meat he never has to worry about going hungry.
I'm all for series that last longer then 10 episodes, but I'm fucking tired of his bitching when it gets too easy for him. When its due to the fact of the snowball he has created with crafting and the trader.
I'm not saying he should do this with this series, but a new series. Just regular 7 day hordes. But again, no trader, and no crafting ammo, or hunting animals for food.
@@dolanmindo5545 It's going to be the same tho, enough poi raidings and youll get ammo/food/supply for days with no need of farming/mining, but then he may want to double raid some pois and take quests for the same pois several times, a single raid into tha shamway factory yields food for at least 2 weeks, and he like many others leave a lot of hiding loot spots which contain lots of ammo, ive never crafted any single ammunition but still buy the mats from merchs whenever they are aviable bc why not, thing is game is a sandbox in the end, and sandboxes get really easy in difficult as soon the player is settled.
If he's bitching is bc some stupid line of tought, but for sure hell keep bitching anyways ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@Arazthoru No trader means no quests. You can easily turn off POI restocking too. And yeah if you abuse the quest resetting POI's of course it's overpowered.
Under looting POIs he is relying on RNG, the chance to find better stuff, more ammo, more food. RNG gods could be nice one episode and hardass the next.
It would make for interesting and fun content because it's a worry, even late game if he will get what he needs.
Also to mention POI looting is not safe. And can use up ammo if you need to get out of tight spot.
@@dolanmindo5545 I'm fine with no crafting, but why no hunting? This is just another factor that makes having to manage your ammunition important. Do you sacrifice some bullets/arrows for protein or do you pass it up to stop zombies from turning you into their protein.
At the same time, Traders would be more daunting if you weren't allowed to craft. Your ability to restock through them is completely dependent on how well you scavenge for resource, and they now hold a huge monopoly on the items you can use because you can't make them yourself. Even if it's something simple like an extra electrically relay.
After dealing with running zombies for a whole series Glock now just looks at a walking zombie, says huh, proceeds to tear down the car, then kill the zombie.
This series should be called “the great chicken massacre”
Maybe a especial last episode when he finished the series. A kill vs non kill chicken count video. Of course with all the comments from glock included.
Or if you can, change all zombie models to chickens and see a chicken horde if possible?

No only that the editing have improved a lot. I’m simultaneously watching an old serie too and I can tell the difference. Good job on the camera angles. Even in the way he talks during the episode, the quick reaction accompanied with a remark and explaining his fast thinking tree steps ahead; you can see a difference.

Glock, I have an idea for your next series... There is a setting called blood moon frequency range, you could crank that up to seven while hordes are at seven days as well. That will make it so hordes come randomly. I think this would make an interesting series.
I think there's a setting where you don't know it's a horde night until the afternoon as well. That would really add to the pressure of it all.

You actually have to set blood moon frequency lower if you want truly random horde nights. I play this mode a lot, usually on frequency-1 day, range-10 days (so the horde could come any time from the next day to just over a week. In fact last few playthroughs have been blood moon warning off so I won't know if a horde is coming until the sky turns red and starts thundering around 18:00. Definitely adds back in some of the edge.
It is a cool idea, I've played with random horde nights and no warning, but you always get the thunder around 19:00 so you are never completely caught off guard. Fun way to play.

You can scrap bone knives in to bones, I think you get 3 bones per knife.

Hey Glock, I actually raided that house yesterday, and i found that if you open that door at the 804 minute mark, there is a beam that goes across into a wall. if you break the wall, there is a hidden room with loot in there. been in that house like 50 times, this is the first i found that hidden room, book case, and box, go check it out!

I got a challenge for a potential future episode; a random weapon every day. the rules are simple. collect as much weapons as you can (not required but would be wise) and you have to use a different weapon every in game day. doesnt matter if its melee or ranged. you cant use a weapon youve used before except if its a dupe, or if youve gone through all your weapons. hope this is a good challenge for you

I uploaded a massive Tier 5 POI to the Nexus the other day. I plan to add more to it so its saved as a collection, though it currently only has the 1 building in it. I would like to see/ hear someone like you go through it...feed back on improvements would be welcome.....Its Castle Ravenloft from the Curse of Strahd TTRPG...there is no way to carry all the loot out without a 4x4...and even then it might be difficult... it has a zombie spawn range of 112-435...
How can you not just immediately click off any youtube vid you're currently watching and immediately tune into G9's new upload?
For me it's cause I'm in production work, so I listen to more podcast style vids till lunch, then watch Glock on lunch 😉
Great video, love the series Glock! I think a series with random horde nights and no warning would certainly make for some interesting moments. As for the no trader, it could make you invest in alternative ways of killing zombies such as traps or bombs, or just avoiding using ammo because it is a finite resource. Or you could set a self imposed limit to the amount you can sell traders as to avoid the infinite money problem. Or maybe a combination of these? Would love to see what you do next!

just a heads up to new players, in the "retrieve supplies" missions. You can loot the house b4 you start the mission, and then loot it again for double loots

if you loot up a POI before accepting a quest in said POI, you can loot it twice because it resets the loot and containers and re randomizes it as well. POIs with loot rooms you can get double room because of it.

You could so easily do several hordes in a different way in that prison base and then rotate them around if you want to keep it fresh.

Based on an earlier comment. Another series idea is a horde every night where you use the POI of a job from the trader. You could keep a house to make sure it’s separate from your base. Use mostly hasty defenses and focus on using skill points efficiently to be better at melee or running
Kneeling down does make things quieter, at least as far as affecting the heatmap is concerned. Oh and fyi, you can scrap bone knives for bone.

I watch multiple 7 days to die streams and I have noticed on hoard night the zombies spawn with a certain radius of the player so larger bases have zombies spawning inside their base( everyone picks a corner or side to defend so if the hoard base is too big zombies spawn in the base)
Ok, make it so that you can only buy ammo at the trader... no missons, no other items: only sell and buy ammo.

Great start to this series Glock, lovin' it so far. I've tried a challenge where I decided to allow myself to visit any trader once and only use any vending machine once. The challenge is to build a base that allows a lot of melee, i went with a walkway and junk sledge to knock the zombies off, worked pretty well.

I did a nitrogen but forgot the combo pack. So I have no trader. I actually enjoy it so much more because you are by yourself and you have to find and do it all. Xp, craft, loot, ect.

Now, I'm not too sure how big the prison is, but it's fairly large and the land claim block is NOT centered in the POI. It's centered left to right, but not front to back. I feel that's more likely to be the issue. If its effective range is not large enough (turn it on to see), you can always increase it in settings.
Now that you have developed mele bases a no trader run wouldn't be quite as bad because you use so much less ammo. You could even be an even bigger psychopath and do a no guns run with a no trader run. Only junkies and mele. I think it would be a short season but very action packed.
You missed a hidden stash in the house you looted for the T1 quest. In the attic, next to the hole that drops to the almost nonexistent second floor, there was a door. If you go through and open the other side of the wall, and take a right it's under the slope.

I'm not going to read through 340 comments so if this was mentioned i apologize. You can repair a bone knife with bone and if you scrap one you get bone. So the one you dropped at around 3:00 would have fixed the other. Thanks for all the great content!

I am pretty sure you get the engine from the second level of taking apart the car. The first one is only the cosmetic stuff from the car like lether and some scrap iron.

I've been playing it for a few weeks now, but I have it set to like a monthly blood moon and low. To make it like it's been going on for quite some time. My first blood moon is upon me. So the fun starts when I get off work. =)
I thought it was debunked by the devs that player placed blocks don't effect zombie spawns but I could be wrong.

I've been thinking my next playthrough might be semi nomadic. Stick around the first trader until I've picked the town clean and earn the Open Trade Routes quest to the next trader, then move my entire operation to the next trader's town and start the process over. Really resist running to every trader every three days.
Waste of a point. Better to loot loot loot, especially working stiff stores will have more wrenches than you need
You can't repair a bone knife, but you CAN scrap them for 3 bones. Not usually worth it unless you are near your stockpiles or already carrying a stack of bones.
You can only use the trader on hord nights

Here's a tip but you most likely know with challenges if you start them then book when you kill Z's in your travels they count against the challenges two birds with one stone as on horde night you knock those things out I open 3 or 4 and on horde night i rack the dukes
Most of my world's I played a few years ago I didn't use traders, mostly due to base location was far from trader. It's a fun challenge actually tho some thing we're different then. 1 zombies gave loot, and my world was open to the public which helped having people, the non toxic ones.
I used the underground base out in the burn area, was very easy to use as a solo
Idea for a future series is hardest difficulty, blood moon every night and possibly with one other player.

Jen had a level 2 wrench for $1300 if you dont have much luck on your next looting expo but the salon should have loads of sinks if you start there

A no trader run would be a pretty cool challenge, but it would work better as a live series streaming on Twitch or UA-cam etc. Through the grindy parts of the playthrough where not much is happening gameplay wise, you could use that downtime to engage with chat a bit, people will still love just hanging out and watching you do menial shit while having a good time in chat.

My favorite thing about 7DTD is probably how the game is obviously still in development, but it’s still really good and you can tell how much the devs put into it.
you can make a wrench in the workbench... so no lost there.
Using stun baton in my current play through, not very good unless you have the skills and books. I have the skill, I believe from a book, that gives a 25 percent chance on normal melee and 50 percent chance on heavy to instantly charge baton.
I remember driving today seeing someone dumb a bag of chips and instantly i thought of Glock driving up and tearing into them about littering.

You were talking about the issues a traderless run would bring, but have you considered doing that as a brawler? I've played 7DTD as a brawler with the fist weapons and it's actually not a bad way to fight. It's actually pretty fun to be able to knock the heads off of zombies with nothing but a pair of knuckles and your raw strength, which is possible to do very early in the game. I mean, I've been able to clear out the entire hospital in Diresville with this method, just be sure to keep plenty of coffee and energy drinks on you if you do so early
I dont know if someone say it already on the comments, but lv 2 and lv 3 cars are the ones that could possibly give you motors. lv 1 cars cant.
