Just installed mine. No problems. Holes in the plate are oval and oversized for more adjustment. My washers were metal instead of plastic. They give you one extra spacer. To tap the washers over the bolt. Your video made easier than just having directions. I absolutely love my new tires as well. Went with a Hard top tri folding tonneau cover from RealTruck. Not sure I would have paid full price for the factory one. At the end of the day. It is a big piece of Aluminum.

Great video. Ordered one on Temu for $146.95 delivered. Ordered US made lettering off of Amazon. Seams like the holes are off sometimes on the current ones imported. But that’s ok. Got me some tools. Maxxis AT Razor tires being installed on Saturday. Can’t wait.

Hey just want to share my experience 2022 offroad install: It was going well until the actual install of the skid plate with threading the 12mm and 15mm bolts. I think my skid plate was a defect as the holes weren't aligned with the truck. Long story short, I had to drill out bigger holes in order to make this fit. Great video and it fits after making that adjustment.

Hi thank you for watching my video! Tbh I have not noticed any difference when I first removed the air dam. However I did add a prinsu rack shortly after and that affected my mileage So I don't have enough data to say the air dam didn't affect my mileage.
I wish there were to found this TRD looking skid plate instead of the one I bought From Toyota could I save the a lot of money truck looks good looking forward to the next video
Im confuse... please explain, you are taking 17mm bolts and you install the plate with 15mm??? isn't that different thread?? also the two bolts in the back are 12mm... and you used 10mm.
Hi thanks for watching my video. Bolts can have different heads with same threads. I used what was provided in the kit. Did you buy the same kit as what I linked? If you did, just use the lengths I mentioned in the proper location and you'll be fine.
Hi thanks for watching my video! I have not have issues with the ramp sliding but that may be due to me using it on my driveway which is sloped towards the truck (driving direction). For side steps I'm using the Toyota predator steps. I have a short install video here. Check it out!

Thank you for the video. I ordered a new 2022 TRD Off-Road, and it will be here on the 27th. I was having a hard time figuring out which skid plates come on it, before I purchased one of these bad boys. Sub'd.
Hmmm I haven't tried. I will check tomorrow and let you know! I don't think it'll work as the front might conflict with the screws of the air dam but I'll make sure and get back to you.
@@geminij610 I checked and the front of the TRD skid plate is directly below the two bolts that goes on the air dam. I guess if you modify your air dam (cut out so the TRD skid plate has room) it could work.

Thank you for making this detailed video. I followed this and was a breeze installing it on my sport. I wonder why all these skid plates say Pro and off road only when they fit perfectly on the sport.
I have 2022 TRD Sport, would the skid plate fit, I see the 2 10mm hole in back is it already threaded, and after install the skid plate can I put back the air dam if I wanted too?
Hi yes it'll fit as I have the same truck (2022 TRD Sport). In regards to the air dam, you won't be able to place it back since the skid plates front will block some of the screw holes for the air dam. I guess you can always cut the air dam to make it fit but I've never tried.
@@johnnydragon3968 Mine is fortunately all even and straight. We're you able to use the right spacers? As there as different lengths (that may be why one is higher than the other?).
@@themandiyrin I look under truck the spacer right, when I got the package 2 corner all dent from shipping it wasnt package good, the skid plate kinda heavy UPS drop it alot when it got to me, couple review on amazon they got there all dent up too, it hassle to return it, thank you alot for the help

Awesome video. I am unsure about the torquing. My instructions don't list any need to torque only to tighten. Did you do this based on your own best practices? My stock plate (via Toyo) does not denote any need to torque.

One more thing that would be helpful to others… the TRD Off Road has a second skid plate to protect the transmission. It’s where the rear small bolts would mount. I had to remove that as well but it’s small and has hanging tabs like the front skid plate. Rest of the installation went like a charm 😀
I’m looking at getting a Tacoma but I’m trying to find different options. To my knowledge the Tacoma Limited doesn’t come with skid plates, would I be able to install some on a Limited just as easily as this and other videos I’ve seen? I’ve never seen any videos on people installing them on a Limited, which may be because it’s not possible. I’d love to know what you think.
Thank you for checking out my channel! In regards to your question, you are correct there’s not a lot of videos out there for the skid plate install on a limited. However, since you’re able to install a skid plate on an SR5 (which is a lower trim than your limited), my opinion is that you can install it on the limited as well. I believe the third gen Tacoma’s have the same bolt patters and main changes are with drive trains and off road features, which is the case on SR5 vs. Limited. Hope that helps!

Do you have to torque it? I changed front diff oil and dont think they used torque wrench

The small bolt use 2 flat washer each one?. Did you put one with the screw and the other one on the nut? Or you put 2 washer together?. Thanks

Hi Isaias. Unfortunately not. It doesn't protect the catalytic converter. I'm thinking of buying a different shield for the catalytic converter.
