Justin Stanton was the soloist on trumpet. He is not only a regular keyboardist but one of the lead composers and arrangers also. Dude is SUPER talented and yes; the dynamics and timbre of his performance demonstrate EXACTLY how good he is as a musician.. Also, Nate Werth the percussionist absolutely KILLS IT AGAIN! His accompaniment with Larnell Lewis is masterful and almost perfect. Thanks for the review. It's good to see one of these reaction videos from someone who knows what they are listening to and better still, knows what they are talking about.
Michael League had mentioned that the baseline you hear around 3:00 he picked up from a song he could barely hear in a department store in another country... He couldn't hear where beat 1 was, he heard it as 3,4,1,2... And that is what he used
Awesome dude! So nice to see musical people checking out snarky puppy! Total banger this one. Next suggestion: Money in the Desert by Bill Laurance, who is the pianist of this group. He has some awesome solo material as well. Love all the way from Finland!
If you'd like more Larnell, check out his current solo album Relive the Moment you featured Change you mind already so how about the track Rejoice great groove and great drums.
Hey Steve, been liking your stuff! Have you ever seen any high level marching band type stuff? If not I'd love to see what you think about DCI videos! One cool one to get into would be the Carolina Crown in the Lot 2013 video. It's just a warmup of their show and the hardest parts... but it's mindblowing
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ve seen the odd bit of marching band stuff over the years but definitely not seen this, nor have I ever done a reaction to marching bands. Added to my to-do list now ✅
Just your average movie score by your average 42pc band. Lol. I can see this being played over a car chase scene in Bourne Ultimatum of a security breach in Mission Impossible.

Much appreciated, thank you!
there is nothing better than getting a flugelhorn contrasted against a trumpet. as a brass player in a former life i LOVE that part of this song.
Thank you! 🙂A Snarky Puppy favourite of mine. The oriental vibe, the harmonies, the brass, brass solos, the melody. Touches something in me.
So stoked you got to check out this song!! One of my perennial favorites and Larnell as always just blows me away with his performance!!
The director of that video is clearly in love with the cellist 😅
awesome react! love your takes on Snarky Puppy, Dirty Loops, etc😁
Thanks abyss!

Mark Letteri is one of the guitar players. He does an unreal version of Cause we ended as lovers.

has been a long time since Lingus.....but did you notice.....the horn soloist is the keyboard player who opens Lingus (and Sleeper ;-) )
I did not! Good knowledge! Impressive.
@@SteveOGRock Justin Stanton is equally brilliant on both trumpet and keys. Also writes some great tunes for the band.

You should check out Bad kids to the back, from Snarky Puppys' latest album, they have "only" 3 drummers haha :)
“Only” 😂
