I grew up watching Frasier, Ali, Foreman, Spinks, Holmes, etc. Tyson changed everything in the heavyweight division with his height (or lack of) but sheer power and determination. My favorite heavyweight champ of all time! Iron Mike!
I remember the hype around Tyson/Spinks. Knocked him out in 71 seconds! I watched it live!
He used his "lack of height" as an advantage. He could easily get inside tall, long-armed fighters that tended to swing around him and lost all their power trying to pull in their punches trying to hit him.
Even Ali said that Tyson was the one fighter he’d be wary of.
I fee like Tyson would've beaten Ali. I don't think there has every been any other heavyweight who could punch with that much power and speed. You float like a butterfly as best you can but Tyson in his prime would catch you.

I am still fully with Galotta for quitting. It was clearly to be seen he got whacked so hard it was very dangerous to continue and his Manager and all others wanted him to hurt himself, cripple him permanently for their own good and not his goodbeeing. Everyone calling him a coward should be ashamed still.
His manager and team weren't the one who had to go back into the centre of the ring. It probably took more courage to give up than to continue.
No coward would fight Tyson..after those blows Gollotas body and soul went into survival mode and that saved him. Not his coach or team. Best call in his life probably.
It wasn't a question of "Live to Fight Another Day" it was a decision "To Live for Future Day's". A real man makes decisions that effect not only his life and future but his family's too. There was no shame in quitting that day.
There's a manager who really cares about his fighter; the fact that he didn't go down and stay down after one of those tremendous blows meted out from Tyson shows he was no coward imo.

I am literally blessed that i witnessed alot of these fights as a kid, for us that actually got a chance to watch these growing up on tv im sure these big fights made us who we are today with our interest. Omg there will never be boxing fights like there was in the 80s and 90s best years of boxing if you wanted raw fights where they went all the way those were the times you actually got every single of your moneys worth. Mike made a FIGHT look like another day training and sparing with average men at the local gym. He was a baaaaaad man, not as a human but as a fighter/warrior that grew into a good man. A man gets to an age where he finds wisdom in peace. Don't think the warrior ain't Capable still though lol.
I love Tyson and always have. Loved watching him box as a kid, but now I love hearing him talk. He’s pretty deep and has a lot of cool insight and perspective. He’s always seemed like a genuine person. Watching him box was watching an artist work. Always liked him and rooted for him in all aspects of his life.
In some of Mike's fight's I've began to feel bit sorry for some of the guy's in the ring with him. In this brutal leathering his opponent took so many body shots to make him drop his arms from protecting his head. Those body shots must smash ribs & be painful for several months after a fight. Drugs and the Don King lifestyle did a toll on what former Tyson was all about. Anyone who knows boxing and how Mike was could clearly see a different person in the ring on his last years. Prime Tyson would have finished him within 3rds. Holyfield was the better boxer in those years probably on PEDS and enhancers, his genetics was not that of what stood in the ring, it was obvious in comparison to what holyfield was most of his boxing career. The body structure just wasn't in his genetics🤷♂
