@@Kevin-zz9nc so we took the power back! Now have wide open living room-kitchen space. The apartment went for no light to beautiful light filled space.
My apartment in Oliva was 45,000€ and we still put in another 15,000€ in renovations. Was it livable as is? Yes, but we wanted to open it up and completely upgrade the bathrooms.

Hi Nicole, Thank you for your videos, they’re very informative. My partner and I are looking to buy in the Valencia region. Online information about the licensing and legality of properties on rustic land is very contradicting and confusing. I was hoping you covered this topic in one of your videos, but I haven’t found it so far. If you have, I would love to know which video to check ☺️
Hi, yes rural properties have different rules are that are set by the local town hall , for example you can't build a pool on rural land, but you might be able to convert a water deposit. Best get a local to go direct to the town hall in the area you like for the latest rules. Best of luck

It seems like it would be difficult to keep a car and three houses in good shape living in Spain part-time. I can't wait to here more about your plans for the houses. Curious about Pego as well. How often do you need your car? Are most services available there? How many English speaking expats?
Thank you for your encouragement! I'm glad the videos are helpful! I am only in Spain around 3 to 5 months per year. I only own the $9k house now. I was never holding them for a rental business or anything ... just following the opportunities. As far as a car goes, if you don't mind staying in Pego, you don't really need one. You can get just about everything you need for daily life in the town itself. I hardly ever drive when I'm there, but I do use my car anytime I want to visit another city, which I do pretty frequently. We've also used it a lot during renovations to pick things up from the hardware store. I'm fortunate that I have a friend who let's me keep it under her carport, and another friend who starts it every few weeks for me. There are quite a lot of English speaking expats there. Mostly retirees from the UK. You'll find it's that way in most places, especially if you're within an hour from the beach.

Everyone accepts Americans, the spanish are only racist against the Moroccans, and that is not aggressive, very subtle. Ex pats are usually accepted easily, despite what the media tell you !!! You won't be able to easily get into a Spanish family life, unless you marry into it, but some families will welcome you in and involve you in their family gatherings and fiestas. We were lucky enough to get invited into a moors and Christians fiesta, full costume, full invites to all the parties and the marching around the town, an amazing experience. So go for it,you only live once. I'm british and feel fully accepted here (and we used to over run the place!!!)

€60,000 is still reasonable, especially if you get it exactly how you want it to look.
