- OshKosh 2023 - I Filmed Nothing!
EAA Airventure 2023 has come and gone; I spent the whole show walking around or in the Dynon Booth greeting viewers and talking about C-FMVU. I ended up having such a great time having genuine conversations with all of you who stopped by, that I just didn't film anything.

Sometimes it’s not all about making videos but also having some fun - it sounds like you had a great week and have lots of ideas for more content. Keep up the good work and enjoy.
You filmed "nothing" and had a great time; I think you did it right. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah, I was going to say the same. There's loads of Oshkosh video out there, unless you've got a specific point of view to share (or sponsor obligations to meet), just enjoy the show, be in the moment, and connect with the people you meet.
Load up the Cessna in the C5 Galaxy and ask for a ride home.
They probably wouldn't even need to land just slider off the ramp at 15k!!!
It was really neat to meet you there. Enjoyed seeing MVU. Enjoyed our conversation too. Have a safe flight back to Oshawa. Till we meet again.
It was wonderful to meet you in person, (and MVU of course), Oshkosh was so much fun! I am also planning next years visit, perhaps even 2 days!
It was a pleasure chatting with you for a few minutes. It was my first Oshkosh and I am already planning another trip.
Hahaha I totally get what you are saying. Glen, it was great meeting you there and getting to see your aircraft up close. You are in person as kind and genuine as you come across in your videos. Thanks again for the photo and good conversation.
Great meeting you there! It was pleasure talking to you and seeing your plane. Hope to see you there next year.
It was fantastic to meet you there! What a show - it was my first Oshkosh, and I think I spent most of it grinning like an idiot and feeling completely overwhelmed 😂
Same here! Its quite the experience, and not something that you can put into words; no matter how much we all try. "Overwhelming" seems to be the common word we all land on! But chock full of amazing people, amazing events, and amazing aircraft.
@Trizza84 it was my second time there and I was the same. Tried to post a few videos but ran out of time to see everything!
Mike - Victor - Uniform on her way back! ( I can't believe the size of those military planes! ) Glad it was fun!! 😊
Nice meeting You Glen!! Nicolas from Uruguay!!!
Hey, you got to meet Wolf Pilot, who flys an airplane just like yours!!!! (And is also now a subscriber). I too had a LOT going on.. I ended up leaving Tuesday night and had the honor of being the last guy out before the airport closed. It was great visiting with you and perhaps next year we can visit a little longer and maybe you can come check out 44T!
Glen I t was great to meet you this year at OSH, hope to see you next year , all the best.
We did stop by your lovely airplane. First time at Oshkosh, the scale of it just overwhelms you. So much aviation there.
You had a great time………that’s all that counts🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. I’m sure you’ll share bits and pieces later. I started watching the old cookbook channel. I don’t even like to air…….Now I love both channels equally. Thx from a 77 yr old granny
Hi Glen. It was great meeting you at Osh and seeing MVU up close. It was my first visit to Airventure after 30 years of flying. I agree…what an experience. Cheers
fabulous, glen, that you just took the week and lived life in the present instead of through a lens! priceless! 😁
Not a pilot. Have always been fascinated with planes since a little kid. Now I’m in my sunset years. Oshkosh would be a dream adventure. Thks. Glen.
Glad you enjoyed it, Glen. Sometimes you just need to be immersed in the moment! I'm really one of your cooking channel followers and subscribed for that reason. But I've learned a lot about this subject and enjoy it quite a bit! My 15 year old was recently invited to fly with one of the local fight schools and he may have caught the bug! So perhaps a road trip is in order for next year. Would be lovely to mash the two interests at one of the favorite local eateries!
That's awesome that you enjoyed yourself so much you didn't think to film! A true vacation of sorts. I would have liked to visit but that wasn't in my cards... maybe next year! Cheers!
I like this summary video far better than a 50 minute long hash up of seven days of madness. Sometimes the only thing to do is to to the place and submerge yourself. Good on ya, Glen, for not giving into the impulse to document and pull yourself out of the experience.
Living in the moment is the best approach! Glad to hear you had a great experience.
Absolutely unsurprising and nothing to apologize about. This year was my first time at AirVenture and we only saw 1/3 of the grounds, never even made it to the exhibit halls, and we were there for 7 hours. It was so massive and there was so much to see. Wanted to stop by and say hi as a fan of both the Hangar and the cooking channel but we were just too exhausted so we'll have to catch you next year. Glad you had such a wonderful time!
Glad you had a great time. That's what it's all about. Plenty of video's covering the show if we need to see some.
Shoot footage at Oshkosh?! Nope, way too much going on, likely never going to happen… Glad you enjoyed yourself, had time to look around and take it all in, looking forward to meeting you at Osh ‘24.
There was defiantly a lot to look at, I appreciate the time you took to talk to me and answer my questions. You don't know how much that meant to me
You were there to enjoy the experience and the atmosphere, shooting anything would have taken away from that and made it feel like a requirement to be there for our benefit in my opinion. Glad it was worth the trip. Looking forward to future content .
Great to see MVU in the flesh :)
I suspected that would happen. My sister goes to Oshkosh each year. She can fly…but drives because it is just so crazy. There is only one Glen with only two hands. So glad you had a great time, got home safely and that the weather cooperated.
😂 I love it! You had a good time just like we used to do decades ago! Sure wish I could have attended. I would have come by and talked your ear off.
That's awesome.
I'm actually glad that you didn't shoot anything and focused on being in the moment. Wish I'd known you were going to be there.. or that there was a youtuber meet up!
Thought I recognized your plane. Like the panel.
Yep, aluminum overload.
We’ll be there in 2024. Hope to see you and say Hi.
Lovely to see you, and don't feel bad for not filming anything. This way you didn't need to worry about what to film, where to film. You could just enjoy your time there.
If I may, when you are doing this kind of shots, would you mind not spinning so much I was getting nauseous, probably just me.
Glad you had a great time, I’m really looking forward to seeing your plane in person one day soon at CYOO.
You did the right thing. I'm a burner and a photographer. You lose the immediacy when you look through a viewfinder. Be there, not just an observer.
"I didn't film anything... I had the most incredible time at Oshkosh!" Perfect!
This was my problem also. Information overload.
I didn't shoot anything either. 😂
Too much to do. Too many people to see!
As I age I find myself taking less pictures and videos. I feel I’m missing the show by looking through the viewfinder all the time. Also, at an event like Oshkosh you can find a hundred vids online from the show.
Glad you lived it in the present and skipped filming. There’s a life lesson in that for so many people.
Looking forward to what comes next.
Sounds like you might need someone to film for you (and possibly edit too), so you can still enjoy it all!
Did you meet / talk to Jimmy from YT channel jimmys world ? CLEEEAAARRRR PROP!
Glad you had loads of fun Glen!
Good stuff Glen. Hope the flight home went well.
Next year it might be easier to film if you bring a pilot buddy 😉. Jokes aside, sometimes it is best to just experience it vs being distracted by shooting film.
No harm no foul. You did all that work to "Mike Victor Uniform" so you could get out and have a good time and thats just what you did. Glad you had a great get away.
G,day from Sydney Australia. How did the plane fly? Did you see any UA-cam content creator posters in the tent?
🌏🇭🇲
Wish I lived in the US!
The event was well reported by all of aviation youtube. Sometimes you just gotta enjoy yourself.
No need to apologize. It's sad watching UA-camrs burn themselves out because the algorithm they've staked their livelihood on doesn't care about their well being. All that matters is that you had fun, recharged your batteries, and as others pointed out were able to live in the moment while experiencing such an amazing event.
Odds you can fly that huge military plane in a pinch?
At a show that large it would be nearly impossible to film content, fulfill obligations to the vendors that you work with, and actually get to enjoy the show itself with out having a film crew to work with. I'm sure you will run down things that you saw and did there over your next several videos as you improve FMVU with the IFR upgrades and what not.
Isn't it crazy that you just enjoyed life and took it all in and have amazing memories? Shame on you😂😁😉😉😎👍👍
bring Julie next time!
Who cares of you did not film anything
You went down for the adventure and to meet as people sa possible. Talking to the various suppliers and making new contacts was the point of going to Oshkosh. I can't wait to see you add more electronics to FMVU. Have a safe flight home.
Meh. . . You just had to be there.
Good choice not filming. Soak it in, live the experience.
Disappointment!
