This is gold right here it’s a mistake I made to try to late apex so many corners early in my career. Keeping it tight and under the rubber allows you to have better lap times. I learned this when we compared our data at OGP that using the whole track isn’t always necessary, and keeping a tight fast line is what you need. Great vid man I needed this for my race this weekend I’ll keep it in mind 👍🏼

You have covered breaking, accelerating and now the rubberized line, and those videos REALLY helped my practice sessions, but I still struggle with the turning points. I can have a 100% efficient breaking section but overshoot the turning point or end up feeling like I need a lot more steering inpunt than I should and that costs me tons of time when getting to a new track

In Singapore the track (KF1 Karting Circuit) is too tight and twisty to change your line but this video is really useful for going to other tracks.

Hi! excellent video. A query, when the track does not have rubber, it is convenient to make the rotation in the 1/3 of the curve (it would be the place where you drew the point that is more outside). My question is whether at that point it is convenient to stop braking (release the brake completely) and right there start accelerating progressively (without waiting for the apex). In my case I use engines with little power (direct Iame with approximately 20 hp). Thank you!!
With engines with less horse power yes you need to accelerate a bit sooner

I have opposite problem. All weekend our drivers going wide. I can't drive properly lines and must go wide, it's terrible to understand this. Drive thru black linens wide :D

What cable is going to the front axle? Is it a speed or temp sensor?
Is this another way of saying you need to change your slip angle depending on where the rubber is? Early in the weekend = small slip angle, late in the weekend = more angle? It seems to me if the apex is the same then you must be rotating the kart quicker as the sessions go on. It's hard to find the proper advice on UA-cam that's specifically for karting, so I appreciate these explainer videos.
Not necessarily. I’m not super familiar with slip angle, but I know a little bit. This video is more about how the track changes as the race weekend continues. The racing line you start with will not be the line you finish with because of where the rubber gets placed.

Yes, it does indirectly. If other people are turning in earlier with the rubbered track you will have to keep this in mind when pulling out to pass them. Also you’ll have to be aware of what parts of the track to avoid because of marbles, which will shift a bit as well.
Ryan...do you use new tires for each race? Can you use twice? They are not cheap.
I used around 4-6 sets of tires a race weekend

Mainly tire degradation. The tires start to get worn out.

It just needs to be close. Either the whole tire or just the side wall. If you are in that area you should be good.
Hey, just found this video....The concept of using the rubber line as a "cushion" makes sense, however, I am confused, in this video if your first blue line is the preferred line before the track rubbers up wouldn't that be where the green rubber line would appear?
Good question. Yes it does appear there initially, but as that cushion gets more grippy it allows drivers to turn in earlier and carry more speed. This will move the line tighter and tighter.

Glad you’re getting a chance to race. Just watch as much video at that track as possible before your first race. Set a few goals of techniques you want to learn while there and focus on those.

This would not help that much at a club level, but if you are struggling for grip it could be something to try.
@@NorbergNation nola is notorious for being a low grip track for not having but one event a month of maybe 40 karts. Figured by the time we get to our final(4th race) could move to the philosophy you are sharing, even just a small amount

When you say keep the kart under the rubber and use it as a rut like in dirt bikes, are you saying that you should put the outside tires on the rubber, or should you also keep the outside tires right underneath the rubber?
