Congrats. I wish I could buy a new one. But medical keeps me on the ground nowdays. I miss flying. Especially early mornings as the sun comes up flying in the mountains watching the deer and elk in the snow the back to SDL for a couple circuits and off to work at 07:30. What a way to start the day. Again, congrats and be safe.
Congratulations! I'm in the same process. Learning to fly on a G2 in the south of France and will transition to a G7 in a few months. We live in Provence, so if you ever want to come visit this area you are more than welcome to stay in our guest apartment, and then we can go fly together. Great way to see the French and the Italian riviera and the surroundings. Good luck on your flying adventure, and let those videos flow in our direction.
Awesome! I am actually going to be in France the last couple weeks of September. Paris, Bordeaux, and then another destination on the south west coast (can’t recall the name).
Congrats! Beautiful airplane! I took delivery in Sep 22 and love it! They did a wonderful job on the G7 Flight Deck! Hope you guys have a blast! Fly safe!
That is cool. I really like that you went through the Garmin options. The charts will be better when you are doing approaches but I find using a tablet easier to zoom and pan charts, etc. Keep these great videos coming.
Congratulations!. I am waiting on my new G7 hopefully in q1 of next year. Although mine is a more stripped down SR20 still super excited to use a lot of the updates.
Congratulations. Amazing machine. I just passed my Instrument Rating and hope to start training in the flight schools SR 22 in two weeks. I’d love to own one, one day.
Thought was just another vlog type of video showing off new airplane but this is actually very informative! Great video, liked and subscribed! I didn't see anyone mentioned but this is basically a G3000 flight deck? That IR camera is also very nice. Can't believe this equipped with so many tech some jets don't even have. Fly safe and see you in the next video!
I just started flying the G7 and doing the cirrus transition now to learn IFR in it next. Coming from a 1956 cessna for my private so its pretty nice ;) Love the diving into the submenus on the GTC controllers if you don't mind doing a deep dive on that at some point. Enjoy!
Very nice plane. I love to fly the Cirrus. My first flight in a Cirrus oddly was taking off into a 400ft ceiling… with an instrument Cirrus transition instructor of course.
Congratulations! Those screens are incredible and I bet that them being slightly lower is an advantage as well. I use NFlightCam to capture audio from my headset on my GoPro. This is the first video of yours I've been recommended so apologies if it's something you've already tried in the past!
Thanks! Yes, I have the Nvflight cable as well, I guess I never thought about trying it in the mic port, assumed that was input only. I am flying today and will try. The main ports in this are the 6-pin lemo ports, great because they get power to the headsets, bad for simple audio tap in. I’ll test that mic jack, fingers crossed.
Beautiful. I’m a Mooney guy but Cirrus has really got the small plane business figured out. Other manufacturers might want to pay attention, because competition is never a bad thing
Gorgeous plane, and I love the red! Re your audio comment, you don’t need a LEMO adapter. I’ve recorded cockpit audio from my G3 using a Sony digital audio recorder. I bought a $5 1/4” male to 1/8” female audio adapter from my local musical instrument store and plugged it into the audio out port that you would use with the old-school two cabled headsets, then connected to the audio recorder with a standard 1/8” audio cable. The recorder picks up anything you hear through your headset, works great. An unrelated question for you: I noted that your fuel boost pump was set to “boost” during cruise, is that a new thing with the G7? Our G3 POH calls for turning it off once established in the climb. Just curious, we had to replace ours last year and it wasn’t cheap!
Yeah, new to me too. Always kept it off in cruise in my G2. They must of made it more robust, cirrus said no reason not to keep it on. In fact, you will get a CAS message (not a warning) if you turn it off.
Not much, and they were very quick to address everything. if you’re on the Copa forms, you get a little nervous about paint, window scratches, etc. I know a lot of people have had those issues. With mine being a demo unit I was a little worried. But it was in fantastic shape. AC wasn’t blowing cold, but they fixed it. The panels left and right of the center console are a little short on the vinyl coverings, it’s a known issue and they have to send a new panel out once it’s made. But it was all very minor stuff. It’s a great experience, you’ll enjoy it. And you will absolutely love the G3000.
@@flying_scott Sweet! Just shot a round today with Tom... had 3 straight birdies and also shot my lowest 9 of 35 recently..."What an incredible Cinderella story"

Regarding audio, if the G7 has the Garmin 350c audio panel, then a button click will send all audio to a Bluetooth recording device - no cables required. This is what is in the G6.
It’s just over 1300lbs. It’s not as much as like a Cherokee 6, but it fits my missions. I typically only have two adults. And I can fly for four hours, which is enough time in the air anyway. This weekend I’m doing a trip with four adults, flying for 3 1/2 hours. With an hour reserve of fuel and 70 pounds in the baggage. My TKS is full, even though I don’t need it. Last week I had three adults, and three sets of golf clubs and had over 60 gallons of fuel on board. For the size of the cabin, it has plenty of useful load.
Just out of genuine curiosity. How do you afford a plane of this value? Like is it a pay for the whole thing at once or is it something to be financed? Worth more than a house😬
Personally, I financed it. I don't like wrapping that much money up in an asset that isn't gaining any value. But even on the finance side, it's not a low cost of entry. My plan is to almost treat it like a lease. I probably won't keep it more than 3 years, and either get another new one or be flying professionally.
That was a long time ago they did that. The G2 I flew was on ‘05 and I think that was one of the last ones with it. They Avidyne was a great system, super pilot friendly.. you could tell it was made by pilots. I don’t live the garmin perspective system… but the G3000 is amazing. I couldn’t imagine it being much better.
I think he means you could get a turbine for the same money. It’s true but you’d spend 2-3x per hour. Or more. My friend is trading his 900hr G6 for a G7 next month because the G6 never had a problem.
@cl65captain -as you know, people buy planes for different reasons/needs. It’s a beautiful plane, perhaps not for you…but you don’t have to be rude with your comments. In other words…hey quit being a dick!

Gotta love that killer autopilot.
Check out sporty’s for the lemo 6 to GA audio jack (if you haven’t found it already) for the Bose headset.
What a beautiful aircraft, any chance you could tells us how much?
Just over 1.1 million
Such I nice plane.. Congrats… Sad I can’t afford one lol
Curious if the G8 will burn Jet-A with fadec control? Perhaps the Continental cd-300 like in the da50.

@@flying_scottthe Perspective+ in Cirrus is G1000 NXi system customized for their aircraft, not G3000.
Yeah, you are correct, I gotta stop calling it that.
Very nice...
Are they still using dual batteries and dual alternators? I heard they may have switched to a single battery.
And it has a powerful EarthX lithium battery in it!
How well does it carry golf clubs?
Great! The seat(s) fold down in the back. I just went to the U.P. with three full sets and two other guys, really easy.

What the what…? Going to research
I see a cool golf trip in the future l, just saying. BTW, I like planes 😂
Let’s go!
Thanks a lot. This is a great and straightforward review. Is this plane pressurized? How do you feel after the flights?
No pressurization, I generally fly between 6000-12000 feet, no issues. I can throw on O2 if needed.
I have a generation 1 SR22 (S/N 100).. I love it so much but DAMN haha
Trust me, I love the G2 I was flying. I thought for sure I would have buyers remorse.... NOPE lol
very good video
the close up shots r cool
Which Ipad mini holder are you using there on your leg?
Pivot 👍🏻
Did you take off from Grand Rapids this past Saturday?
No, but I was over Grand Rapids last Monday ;)
With the FIKI, A/C, and Oxygen how much is the useful load?
