Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where in this video I want to share with you how to shrink pores on face and remove blackheads with a new serum - The Ordinary Balancing and Clarifying Serum review.
Sebaceous Filaments are the black dots on nose and can grow and damage our skin confidence. This blackhead removal serum will target congested pores and sebaceous filaments to shrink pores and smooth skin.
This could be the best serum to shrink pores on face and minimise pore size without needing to break the bank.
The Ordinary Balancing and Clarifying Serum is a new launch from the worlds favourite drugstore skincare brand and I think could just be the worlds best pore minimizer and a great addition to your skincare routine.

For anyone confused, aPAD actually contains 6% pure PAD (20% of a solution called Azeclair that contains additional ingredients). I think it’s very unlikely this Ordinary serum contains 15% PAD and would love to know where that info comes from.

I'm very tempted to try this out - I've recently incorporated azelaic acid into my routine and have really been finding it helpful. Plus this serum has NAG and ectoin - this could be a winner...
I agree i think azelaic acid is such a transformative ingredient, its done so much for my adult acne x
I wonder how this compares with Dr. Shah’s “Remedy for Pores.” Supposedly addresses all the same things (sebaceous filaments, oil production, oil control, pore size/strength). From what I can recall, gets to it with a very different set of actives. I don’t think Remedy is available in the UK yet, though, not sure but I think it will be.

@@_SunscreenQueen_ good point, thanks. Looked it up and saw it also has salicylic acid, and several other things… it’s not clear to me the implications (in comparison)for helping pore size. Do you have a guess? (or better?)

❤ I’m definitely going to give this a whirl and wanted to say a huge thanks for the video you did a few weeks ago about massaging a thick moisturiser into black heads. I’m not going to lie I was sceptical and had avoided rich lotions and cream around my nose as it was shiny and looked awful and I didn’t want to add fuel to the fire. I think I have spent a couple of mins about 10 times now really giving it a firm massage in and it’s really helped. Will be adding this and I’m really greatful for the in depth review and for taking the time to share all of this information 🤩

Thanks for this review, fellow anti-pore warrior here... I recently bought the Allies of Skin (with your code, ha!), and I do like it a lot. I specifically like that you can mix it in with your moisturizer to streamline your routine. Do you think this would be possible with The Ordinary product, too? I do Vitamin C, Azelaic Acid, Moisturizer (with AoS mixed in), Sunscreen in the morning, and Retinoid, Moisturizer (with AoS) at night.
Definitely tempted to try The Ordinary after I've emptied the AoS, purely for monetary reasons.
I love your channel and every recommendation you make. Since I have been following you I bought couple of products from the ordinary and I wanted to know if you are ok with these skin routines:
Morning routines
1. Lactic acid 10% + marine hyaluronoc + argireline 10 % + niacinamide 10% + multipeptide
2.lactic acid + marine hyaluronic + aloe 2%+ nag 2%
3.glycolic acid 7% toner + ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate + matrixyl
Nighttime routines
1. Salicylic acid mask 2%
2.im trying every single night Retinal. Just one day I stop and I do the salicylic mask
All the routines are followed up by a moisturizer and I repeat and repeat every week.

Great review....again ❤ the one problem i don't have is with my pores, small and only have the very odd blackhead. So this one i will skip. Love the Ordinary though.
Something i would be very interested in is a video about the best way to layer all your different serums, creames etc. I always feel a bit uncertain when it comes to that. Love xx

It seems like a nice serum, so I'll try it out eventually but really annoys me that as you said, PAD is one of the most important ingredients in this formulation yet it's not mentioned in the description on The Ordinary's website!
I would love to know your thoughts on Benton’s Vitamin C serum - seems similar to Timeless - I’m curious about it but I can’t find many unsponsored reviews!

I've got a question for you. I know I'm late to the party on "glass skin" but I recently watched a vid here by another popular skin care content creator and he looked like a glazed donut. I understand wanting to minimize pores and having a fresh dewy complexion like a baby, but what baby looks like they've been dipped in oil?
So... is "glass skin" really supposed to look that shiny?

How does this compare to Paula’s choice 2% BHA Solution??
They are different in terms of ingredients but I would say this one is more comprehensive as the PC one just relys on salicylic acid which is effective but a little more basic.. I would go for this one over PC personally x

OK. I use Niacinamide, BHA, AHA, Retinol, Milky Toner... and another thousand TO products. None of these shrink my disgusting, hated, huge pores. I don't believe that there is anything that can do that. 😢
