  • This RV had some water damage that caused the ceiling to get mildew and minor mold. I used H2o2 to help treat it prior to extracting the areas. The carpets weren't in to bad of shape, but cleaned up well.

It may be expensive to ship, but they may have a distributor over there. It's called unchained, but for mildew and mold. It's mainly hydrogen peroxide that does most of the work. Truckmount forums at tmfshop.net

Did you use a regular carpet cleaner on the ceiling or something different. My folks have this issue in their rv and we are trying to find a solution

This product was mostly hydrogen peroxide based and extracted with our large carpet cleaning machine.

What type of solution do you use?

Is that a reducing agent for the water Staining?

H2o2 (hydrogen peroxide) it is also the pet treatment product I use, but has a fair amount of H2o2, and neutral cleaning agent to rinse it out.

Hey Nolan it's chevelle. Does mildew come from like rain? And with it being an RV the ceiling isn't that supportive because it's not like a regular ceiling I would guess it's more thin. But wouldn't bleach and maybe some white vinegar get rid of the mildew?

    • @blackdiamondcleaningservices

No. Hydrogen peroxide is the better choice for mold and mildew. Bleach would potentially discolor the material. Bleach actually doesn't kill mold, but the right volume of H2o2 will.

@@blackdiamondcleaningservices oh okay because I sprayed bleach on my brother's bathroom ceiling and it got rid of the mold but it did leave discoloration and the maintenance people had to come paint the bathroom ceiling but they claimed I got rid of all the mold. I told him he has to leave his bathroom door open after he showers to let all that steam out.

So long as there is moisture in the room for long periods of time it can always come back. Check the exhaust fan to make sure it's working properly. Also, bleach may make it look like it's gone, but HP will keep it gone longer when used properly.

@@blackdiamondcleaningservices it's all good he doesn't live there anymore lol. But when I would use his bathroom I just couldn't take that shit anymore so that's what I did. But I'll remember for mold HP..

@@blackdiamondcleaningservices We have mould spots all over the ceiling above my cabin in our campervan. My Mum has tried all sorts of combinations, but nothing even touches the spots. I hear that you say Hydrogen Peroxide is better than bleach as it doesn't discolour the material?? What ratio of Hydrogen peroxide do you dilute with water?
      Any advice would be great.
      Thank you.

You used regular Hydrogen Peroxide that you can find at Walmart? Which volume did you use? What neutral cleaning agent did you use with that? I don't see a post of exactly what you used, that would help! Thanks!!

My RV ceiling smells like vinegar do you think that mold? That happened after a leakage that I just fixed

It could be mildew if it's relatively new. I used a product called Unchained to work on this one, but as you can see. You'll need a way to extract it thoroughly.

Hydrogen peroxide helps with mildew and mold. Just make sure you're careful.

@ValessaBR, if you use hydrogen peroxide, be careful. It can be sensitive to people skin, but it's a natural cleaner.
